Specialties
Bringing the finer points of hospitality together with the unique history and culture of St. Louis. Three Flags Tavern is an American restaurant with French and Spanish influences.
History
Established in 2014.
Three Flags Tavern was initially created as a restaurant concept with the working title 40 Seats + Bar. Drawing upon this city’s diverse cultural history, we developed a preliminary menu representing the varied culinary traditions that made their way to St. Louis.
John and I are both St. Louisans, born and raised, with a great appreciation for this city’s unique history and the different nationalities that have emigrated here. During our research, we learned about the events of March 9 – 10, 1804, known as Three Flags Day. Over these two days, three flags marked the rule of our city during a ceremonial transfer of the Louisiana Territory. The wonderful culinary intersection of Spain, France and the United States of America was relevant to the direction our menu was taking and sounded extremely delicious to us.
We chose «Tavern» as it best describes the level of professional and friendly hospitality we offer, with meticulous attention to detail executed by our skilled and caring staff.
