Two Ladies & a Bucket

My wife and I interviewed a few companies before deciding on Two Ladies & a Bucket. The ladies showed up on time and did an amazing job! There’s nothing better than coming home to a clean house that has that «Spring Cleaning Smell.» I would highly recommend this company.

I called Two Ladies and a Bucket to do a one-​time clean for City Music and Education center. The job Anya and Nicole did was amazing and we’ve hired them full time. At the same time I have the same dynamic duo come to my home in Kirkwood and clean and never have my floors shined so nicely. Susie Duncan is very professional and runs her business like a well oiled machine. I’m very pleased in the business cleaning and in my personal home. I love this company!

I recently moved into a new home. I used my living social for 2 ladies a bucket to assist with a cleaning prior to our move in. Unfortunately, after move in, I found multiple areas throughout my home that were not cleaned.
I brought it to the attention of the company and was met with a not so pleasant reaction, in fact, the woman was downright rude to me. The company was willing to come back out to my home, to only remedy the items I noticed that had not been cleaned, but begrudgingly. only at the end of the conversation did i hear the words «I’m sorry». I will not be using this company again and would not recommend anyone to use them, poor customer service on the company side, and poor cleaning.

Two Ladies and a Bucket have been my go-​to house cleaning service of choice for the past several years. Depending on my schedule, I may have them come every week or just when I need help with a super deep cleaning; but no matter how often I have them come, they always treat me like I’m their most valued customer, do an incredibly thorough job and treat my home just like I do. I tend to be very picky about what types of cleaning products are used in my home and they’re happy to accommodate whatever I’d like.
I know that I’m probably a difficult client, as I definitely check on all the little details (ceiling fans, inside the microwave, behind the toilet, etc) — I mean, you’re paying someone to clean your house, right? — and they’ve never disappointed me.
In fact, as my grandmother’s primary caregiver, I had Two Ladies and a Bucket clean her home as well. If you have an elderly family member who’s homebound, you know how much it would mean for them to request the same girls from Two Ladies repeatedly; even though they had a job to do, the ladies made my grandmother feel like she had treasured guests visiting and took the time to talk to her as if she was a friend. I’ll always be very grateful for that. And it was especially nice for my grandmother to enjoy a sparkling clean home again, since she was no longer capable of cleaning. Although my grandmother passed away last year, that’s one thing that I’ll never forget.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Two Ladies and a Bucket to anyone. The owner, Susie Duncan, always goes out of her way to check up on us after each cleaning to make sure we’re satisfied with the service and if one of her gals is sick or unable to make it, Susie rolls up her sleeves and does the cleaning herself. I appreciate having people in my own home who I can trust and Two Ladies and a Bucket has been wonderful.

I feel gypped!!! I bought a LS coupon and paid for 4 woman hours (or 2 ladies for 2 hours), and I got 3 ladies, but only for 45 minutes! They just say that they were done and left my house before I could inspect or ask any questions. They didn’t ask if I needed anything else and what’s worse is that they missed MANY surfaces that I cleaned after them! I literally cleaned for 30 minutes after the cleaning ladies left. Wiped mirrors? Missed some! Kitchen back-​splash? Nope, visible food on it. Bathroom counter? Nope, toothpaste marks. Kitchen counter? Dust and flour left!!! I have photos to prove my claims.
When I called the owner to discuss this matter she got defensive of the poor job her workers did and said that she would compromise at having them come back for 30 mins to finish the bad job or I could pay them for a discounted full service! Like I’m going to throw good money at them again!!!
Oh, and did I mention they smelled like smoke (strongly, and I am allergic).

I used Two Ladies & a Bucket because of a Living Social coupon I purchased. It wasn’t worth it at all.
The voucher was for 2 women for 2 hours for a total of 4 hours of cleaning (as their business name states). Instead, three people arrived unannounced over an hour early (one was a young girl). They told me it would be for 1 hour and 20 minutes of cleaning (total = 4 hours). I was fine with that and expected them to clean for the one hour and 20 minutes as promised, but they left after exactly an hour (total 3 hours of cleaning) and said that the clock starts the second they pull up to my driveway. They were over an hour early and I had no idea they were even outside, but they decided to count that time sitting in their car towards my cleaning hours.
They also did not finish. I asked them to dust the family room, the main room in the house, which included a coffee table, mantle and end table, and the TV base (which is black and attracts dust easily) but they refused as they darted out the door at the hour. This would have only taken an addition 2 minutes at most.
They also didn’t take out the trash in the kitchen, the recycle, or the trash from a bedroom. They also did not replace the trash bags in the 2 bathroom trash cans that they did remove. Vacuuming was very poor as well, as a lot of debris was left and they didn’t try to get near the furniture.
I asked them about the shorted hour when they were at my house, and they didn’t care. I contacted them electronically afterwards, and again, they did not care.
I contacted Living Social multiple times, and they refused to accommodate me because it was a «redeemed» voucher, until I persisted and finally got a partial refund.
Too much trouble for mediocre cleaning!

Again, this is someone who purchased the Living Social Deal and walked away dissatisfied. It seems a little silly that they signed up to participate in such a deal and then weren’t prepared to follow-​through.
Anyway, why I am dissatisfied is that they’ve done a horrible job at scheduling. Sure, it took a long time to schedule but that’s not even what bothers me; I can understand that it can take awhile to accomplish things. What bothers me is they seem incapable of keeping a calendar organized. Example: I had an appointment they never showed up for and when I called Susie told me that it was a holiday week and they never would’ve scheduled me for that week, seeing as that week was reserved for regulars. Well then, Susie, how did I get this date in my calander? I didn’t just magically make it up! When I scheduled dates with you, I sat there with my phone open and added it directly into my calendar.
Then, today, something similar happened. I get a call and am told that my roommate wasn’t there to let them in. Now, this is partly my fault because they did call and confirm last week and I assumed that my roommate would have it in his calendar to be there. I was about to be mad at my roommate BUT when I looked back on the calendar, I realized it’s because she told me November 22^nd not October. I remember this being true because the coupon expires on the 11^th and I remember thinking «Oh, that’s nice that she’s honoring it after it’s expired.» Looking back, I realize she misspoke and it’s ever since caused a ton of confusion and has caused us to «forfeit» our coupon.
I don’t know… they did an okay job at cleaning but this is not a service I’d ever use again: not even for free.

Purchased 2 living socials deals after first contacting company to see if they serviced my area (Florissant). I was assured they did. First cleaning took over 3 months to schedule, and cleaning was adequate at best. Second cleaning took even longer to schedule, because «they just don’t come to my area much». Susie recommended I contact living social to get my money back. Should have taken that advice! Cleaning ladies showed up on the wrong day, and when Susie was contacted she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She demanded I allow one of the women to listen to the voicemail reminder. When I explained that I don’t save voicemails, and I certainly wouldn’t have scheduled a cleaning for 1 hour after I flew back from a week long vacation, she became even more unprofessional! She told me if I refused to allow the women in, she would consider it a «lock out» and I would forfeit my voucher. I got the impression from the cleaning crew that this was a fairly regular occurance!
