Whisk: a Sustainable Bakeshop

I was craving for a lavender latte from the mud house but wasn’t able to find a parking spot and was crunched on time. I finally saw where whisk was located and there was plenty of parking so I decided to go in (yes whisk is not too far from mud house but only had 8 mins to spare). I wanted to try their Popsicles but whenever I walked in and saw a lavender scone. I totally forgot about them. I’m so happy I stopped into whisk because OMG their lavender scones are absolutely delicious!!! I came here on a Wednesday afternoon… the case was not full of goodies but just enough to pick a few.
What I tried…
Strawberry Whoopie Pie: I got this for my nephew. It was good! Something with the cream, it’s light and fluffy! And not too sweet at all!
Salted Caramel Cupcake: recommend by staff. It was really good but way too super sweet. One bite and I was done, the icing is just way too rich for my tasting.
Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookie: another recommendation by staff. I tasted bacon once throughout the entire cookie. For some reason I don’t think bacon in a cookie goes together. Something I didn’t care for.
Lavender Scone: it was calling my name but I had to ask… if they were moist and not super dry. The girl was right! She told me it was buttery and not dry at all. I hate dry scones. But OMG!!! Out of the world yummy! If I didn’t have the lavender scone I’m sure my rating would of been a 3 star. LOL! But I was craving something lavender.
I will be back to try other goodies! Especially the Popsicles and scones!

Love this place. Great Lighting and a comfy vibe. You can sit and drink your coffee or just eat a cookie on the go. I always get the Sea Salt Bacon Chocolate Chip cookie. They make the most interesting and delicious baked goods. I tried a new item called A Brownie Pie and it had a whipped salted caramel filling. UNBELIEVABLE. Cherokee is lucky to have Whisk. Staff is always so nice and cheerful. You can tell they love their jobs and the product they produce.

The service at Whisk is extremely helpful, and the brownies are excellent. We bought 2 items for $ 5, which seems like quite a good deal for such well-​executed treats. The décor is adorable. We were in and out in a few minutes, but it looks like a cozy and bright spot to hang out with your coffee and sweets for a while.

A cute bakery that offers bottomless coffee. Their baked goods are not too sweet and go well with coffee. May close early if everything runs out.

This was the bakery on Business Insider for Missouri. Nice unique décor. Small business feel. We got in right before they closed so they were out of most pastries mentioned in reviews. We got our hands on a chocolate chip pretzel cookie and the combo worked well. As well as the honey something or other scone. It was nice and moist, not hard like we anticipated it to be. The cashier was nice and also gave us a parking pointer. (Which is try to park on Missouri St. to avoid parking meters)

The dope. One of the best brownies I’ve ever had. The employees are terrific — very friendly. Stay away from the bacon chocolate chip cookie though. Bacon and chocolate just don’t go together.

From the moment I walked in it was apparent that this place was owned and operated by some really rad people! I bet really rad people hangout here too.
I digress, Whisk has been on my radar for quite some time. I’ve experienced their delicious products via other local establishments in the area such as Rise and Kitchen Coffee House. Today I was feeling froggy so I jumped on the first item the super helpful employee suggested; Salted Caramel Brownie Pie! Took one bite and literally drifted off to heaven. This was an amazing concoction of 2 soft baked brownie cookies with a light-​airy salted caramel filling that formed a mouthwatering mini pie.
The pastry case had so much unique goodness to choose from… gooey butter, popcorn and ginger cookies, gigantic brownies, lemon curd pop tarts, caramelized onion & asiago scones, vegan cupcakes, gluten-​free banana chocolate chip muffins and so much more you’ll have to go see for yourself because I’m not running the entire menu here.
Now on to the cool fixtures and furnishings. I loved the leather sofa perfectly positioned at the floor to ceiling window which offers a great view of Cherokee Row. There were world globes serving as tabletop centerpieces which I found extremely attractive as not only a traveler but a lover of globes. The walls were adorned with some of the most rad articles which can make wonderful conversations pieces. I walked around the place, taking pics and engaging in conversation with two adorably pleasant young ladies sitting at one of the tables. Only to find out one was the owner.

I’m a sucker for egg nog, so I jumped at the egg nog cupcake. Somehow, between the sweet frosting and alluringly less-​sweet cake, the cupcake got better as I made my way through it. When does that ever happen? Only four stars because the cake was a tad dry, and the bacon chocolate chip cookie wasn’t anything special. Cute space, too.

A big fan of little bakeries like this since they promote local farms and bake foods that taste very fresh. I had the healthy cake and about three cups of coffee, it was pretty tasty
The inside was very bright and full of knick knacks.
I would definitely return for some sweets!

We happened on this adorable little bakery whilst on a stroll through the Cherokee Street Shopping District. I ate (almost) all the things, and I feel little-​to-​no regret!
My eyes lit up like neon as soon as I noticed the baked goods tagged «GF». One of each, please!
Items I tried:
*Gluten-​free peanut butter bar: addicting and stole the show; smooth and creamy with the slightest crunch in the peanut butter layer.
*Gluten-​free coconut cupcake: I would liked to have seen another flavor of GF cupcake aside from coconut (kind of stereotypical), but other than being a bit crumbly, as gluten-​free baked goods tend to be, it was delicious and the frosting wasn’t too intensely sweet.
*Gluten-​free healthy cookie: a tasty no-​bake treat with a lot of texture. This is probably the only thing I didn’t feel guilty about having eaten immediately!
*Blackberry goat cheese popsicle: mildly sweet with a hint of tang from the berries, a perfect treat if you enjoy creamy flavors and don’t want something overly sweet.
Items I came back the next day for:
*More gluten-​free peanut butter bars
I found the staff to be very warm, and they remembered us the next day. They even encouraged me to take photos — I mentioned this place was cute, didn’t I?

Go… right now… well, unless it’s Monday or Tuesday. You need their iced coffee and salty caramel cupcakes in your life always! They also have vegan options that are super tasty.
The ONLY thing I don’t like about Whisk is that they are closed on my birthday (tomorrow, since it’s Tuesday) so I have to wait until Wednesday for my cupcake birthday treat!

I love bakeries and there are not enough independent ones around. They had a healthy cookie made with agave and it was SO good. We also had a decadent hazelnut and chocolate cookie which i enjoyed.

Oh Whisk… I can’t tell you how much I love you. How much you make my taste buds happy. How much my treadmill loves you for all the action it’s getting.
Seriously, Whisk is everything I love in a local bakery.
The staff is so sweet. I was stalking out some pumpkin snickerdoodles they posted a photo of on Facebook, and when I called and found out they were gone, I was sad. That’s until the owner told me she’d pop some in the oven for me. They were out of this world.
The look of this place is so charming, comforting, colorful, and is such a great addition to Cherokee street. I can see myself spending some time working here with baked goodies and some local coffee (the only thing missing is wifi!)
Swing by when you can, seriously. I haven’t had something I didn’t like here. Vegans, there are options for you as well.

If you are ever walking around Cherokee street I recommend you stop in and give Whisk a try. I was in the area a few weeks ago and in between antique shops I was ready for something refreshing. I walked down to Whisk and knew I needed a popsicle! When I arrived the store had a few other patrons inside. I walked up to the counter and asked for a Blackberry Goat Cheese popsicle (thanks to Aimee M. for her picture)! I couldn’t wait to try it.
The guy behind the counter and I chatted for a moment as he was super friendly. I knew he had other customers to help so I paid and I was on my way.
The baked goods looked delicious and I wanted to order a few other items, but I was running out of free hands. I’ll be in the area next week for my hair appointment and so I’m sure I’ll stop in to grab a few goodies to go!

Came here with a group of 3 on a hot summer afternoon. We came in looking to order some of their ice pops. The ice pops were so good! We couldn’t decide on flavors so ended up each ordering two and sharing! Some favorites were the goat cheese and apricot. I think she does the creamy pops like avocado really well, but some of the fruity pops could use a bit more fruit flavor. I love the fruit and herb pairings she puts in the pops, and you can count on Whisk to have great popsicles for those hot summer days.
Baked goods. I ended up trying the brownie and GEEZ. Not only is it huge, but it’s also kind of to-​die for. Highly recommend it.

I went here the other day and it’s such a cute place. Super light and bright with cute artwork and such. The only thing that bothered me a bit is that I felt kind of uncomfortable being there… reason being, the people working behind the counter seemed annoyed or tired or something. Maybe because i only bought two things but I had the feeling they were waiting for me to leave if that makes sense. It could’ve been an off day or I read them wrong so the four stars is for the product. It’s hard to find delicious vegan desserts but this place has them. I kind of wish they had more rather than what seemed to be 75% regular and 25% vegan but I know it’s a niche market. I really enjoyed my raspberry cookie (I don’t remember the exact name) and healthy cookie. 5 stars for both… I liked them both in different ways. The raspberry (I think it was a thumbprint) cookie was crumbly and full of nuts and some oats and didn’t taste vegan. Not too much raspberry ‘goo’ which I appreciated. The healthy cookie is full of oats, coconut, and chocolate and was so divine! I’ll have to try an ice pop next time and maybe bring some friends.

Hold it right there. Ask whoever you’re looking at what the top choices of whatever day you happen to be there are and I pretty much guarantee you’ll enjoy them. Our haul — popcorn cookie (for real, and FOR REAL) and a salted caramel whoopie pie (the adult awesomeness you always hoped for as a kid when you ate a whoopie pie).

Great ambience, good cookies and brownies. Too bad that I did not try the Popsicles which later I realized everyone else was having. Next time for sure.

I needed something to brighten someone’s day… and decided cupcakes were the answer. I stopped at Whisk and could not be happier. I was able to purchase two cupcakes for a friend. Looking into the case I could not resist the temptation and added a cookie and a dessert bar for me!
The dessert bar I ordered is called a Nanaimo Bar. It was knock your socks off-​AMAZING. Can I buy them out??? Could I order a whole tray??? Could this be ordered in multiple trays??? My mind started swirling in a sugar induced coma. It was that good. I saved half for later… it was still THAT GOOD!!!
I also order a popcorn cookie for myself. It too was amazing. Seriously. Sweet and salty, crunchy and chewy, pure goodness. I highly recommend.
My friend reports the cupcakes were great. They most defiantly did brighten the day. Whisk just gained two new customers.
The paper To-​Go box is cute. The interior is cute. Huge windows flood the shop with sunlight. Whisk is a place to go for a dose of happy. I cannot wait to return.

The boyfriend loves popsicles so I try to squeeze in a search for gourmet pops wherever we go. For St. Louis, it was Whisk. As soon as we strolled in to this adorable bakery, all I could think was «oh, I could spend hours at a table with my laptop and some tasty sweets on hand.»
We tried the concord grape and avocado pops. If you’re a sugar-​lovin’ person, go for the grape. The avocado is much more mild. The smell of baked goods in the air also led us to order a strawberry filled sugar cookie whoopie pie which was on the dry side but rockin’ in the flavor department. I could have gone for a whole scoop of that filling. The pops were not the best we’ve ever encountered so I’m going to throw my chips into the baked goods next time. And… the overall adorableness of the space. Too cute, I tell ya!
