History

Established in 2002.

Air Down There SCUBA was opened by owners Scott and Tracy Wemyss in 2002. Both are avid SCUBA divers with extensive Caribbean and Pacific area travel experience. Over the past 13+ years Air Down There SCUBA has grown in to one of the areas most respected resources for SCUBA diving related training, equipment, equipment services, and store sponsored dive travel opportunities. In addition, Scott’s background in emergency services and his credentials as one of the state’s Emergency Response Diving International instructors, positions Air Down there SCUBA as the Midwest’s premier public safety dive training facility. In 2002, Tracy and I were looking for a dive shop that welcomed divers of all skill levels and supported a local, fresh water diver as much as the traveling warm water ones. We were trained under the PADI standards and wanted a shop that placed a high degree of emphasis on quality training. Finally, we needed a shop that supported a wide variety of equipment brands with good service and knowledgable sales staff. As a result we opened Air Down There in January of 2003.
