Specialties
The mission of the Arona Child Development Center is to provide quality care and education for the children of students and staff of the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps program and for families in the surrounding community. Our program is designed to meet the special needs of infant, toddler, and preschool children in a safe and nurturing environment. Our goal is to strengthen the bridge between school and family life by creating a special place that supports them both. We offer families a partnership that provides support and encouragement as well as information about child development.
History
Established in 2012.
In 2006 the center, located on the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps campus, was remodeled to serve the children of students attending the Job Corps program. Head Start was brought in to operate the center and did so until June of 2012. When Head Start closed Angela Kapp, the Head Start Manager for the site, submitted a proposal to Job Corps to open the center as her own. The proposal was accepted and Arona Child Development Center opened their doors in October of 2012 under the umbrella of Midwest Child Development. The center now serves the children of students and staff as well as the local community.
