BICA has been promoting improved services for troubled children and youth since 1982. The Institute provides a wide variety of supporting services to professionals and parents who work with children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our services include professional development, discounted publications and materials, conferences, workshops, consultation, program design and evaluation, a professional library and a scholarship program.

History

Established in 1990.

BICA originated as the National Adolescent Conference in 1982 — an opportunity to gather professionals from the fields of education, mental health and juvenile justice to best serve troubled children and youth. The 501c3 non-​profit organization was incorporated July 9, 1990 and has continued to expand and grow with the goal of improved services for troubled children and youth.
