Ben Quie & Sons specializes in remodeling projects and home additions that preserve the integrity and character of vintage homes. We are a kitchen remodeler, bathroom remodeler and general contractor with a passion for the architectural styles and craftsmanship of the late 19^th and early 20^th century. We lovingly update and renovate Victorian, Craftsman, pre-​war and mid-​century homes and work with integrity to ensure we have the privilege of serving you for years to come.

History

Established in 1988.

Ben began his company Named Tectone Construction in 1988 to pursue his love of carpentry and renovation of older homes. For the first 20 years Ben worked in the field along with another carpenter and kept the company small doing high quality work on one project at a time. Ben’s son Sam had worked summers with his dad since he was about 12 and eventually after some college came on full time Sam currently works as a lead carpenter and is looking forward to moving into the office eventually and when the time is right taking over the business. In 2010 Ben changed the name to Ben Quie & Sons. He has since grown the company with 3 Lead Carpenters, a Production Manager and a Book Keeper. The company’s aim continues to be caring for their customers and their homes with skilled craftsmanship, superior management and integrity.

Business Owner

Ben has always loved working with his hands. He began his career in carpentry in 1984, working as a construction foreman. He established Ben Quie and Sons (formally Tectone Construction) in 1988. He loves old homes so much that he lives in one himself. He resides in St. Anthony Park with his wife, Ginny. They have four children: Sam, 27; Tanner, 25; Cameron, 21; and Savannah, 19. In his free time Ben is involved in his church, serving through Prison Ministry and Marriage Ministry. He also enjoys spending time with his family, canoeing, and cooking.
