A neighborhood crown jewel. You will come for the amazing myriad of soft serve flavors, but you will return because you will enjoy great service and chatting in line with people from the neighorhood.

My son and daughter in law take us here whenever we visit and Connie’s is open. The French silk pie milkshake is outstanding. They are very pet friendly, and they have a nice dog cone. We get one for my granddog.

sad that it’s so hard to find good soft serve in minnesota. being from ny, i prefer ss over custard. conny’s at least scratches my itch! an hour round trip for me! 24 flavors, but i always start with plain vanilla to test flavor, density, and texture. creamy for sure, but lacks density. can’t get chocolate sprinkles… ever…argh! but they do have 3 flavors of dip. Hallelujah!

A true St. Paul original. If you want a flavor of summer in St. Paul always has been check this place out. Hope this locally owned gem is still in my neighborhood when I kids have kids. Ice Cream, hot dogs and fair style foods.

It’s a really cute old fashioned ice cream place. There are a lot of flavors which is fun. but in doing that, it waters down the soft serve pretty good. I would recommend just going with the classics, chocolate/vanilla/twist so it stays firmer.

Obsessed since I was a kid. This place is the down to earth corner ice cream shop. A local simple fare with plenty of heart.

Conny’s Creamy Cone is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. 24 flavors of soft serve, a number of dipped cone flavors, malts, shakes, hot dogs, cheese curds! I try a new flavor every time I go but love the raspberry, Black cherry and peach. There is always a line but the food and ice cream come out quick. With so many choices you’ll have to visit a few times to find your favorites. I really love everything about Conny’s Creamy Cone and it really is a neighbor institution.

A neighborhood classic, this spic n’ span little gem is a piece of Americana so amazing that it became the poster for the St. Paul Art Crawl a couple of years ago. Sweet in every sense of the word. Great soft-serve ice cream, and back-to-the-fifties thin-cut fries & barbecue beef sandwiches. if there’s no room at the outdoor tables, stroll down Dale Street about a block and a half and find a seat overlooking Loeb Lake in Marydale Park. Conny’s is everything summer in the city should be!

«What flavors do you have?» «We got both kinds — chocolate and vanilla» That’s what I expected to hear, but I did not expect to learn they had 24 flavors. So with so many choices at my disposal I bravely chose … vanilla. They were on the spot with an excellently flavored and textured soft serve. They had none of the freezy bits some soft-serve places have. They also had some burgers fries and things, but we were here for the ice cream. Don’t change a thing!

I have been here many times as a kid when I used to live in this area and still do today as I drive through the neighborhood. Their ice cream is 20 times better than the overrated«Cold Stone Creamery». I love the crunchy sprinkle topping for the ice cream cones. They also have shakes, smoothies, hot dogs, cheese curds, burgers, chicken tenders and so much more. Bring your family and give it a try! Love going to Conny’s!

Summah time and the livin is easy… and the heat is knocking at the door, along with the humidity. After a picnic in a nearby park we decided something sweet was in order and Conny’s was so close. Prices are SO reasonable. Most cones are under $ 2 and they have kids cones too. A hotdog and fries are $ 2.65(of course you don’t get a mountain of fries but do you really need that many, look at your waistline). Conny’s is a neighborhood gem that is out of the way on Dale and Maryland but worth a trip for a trip down memory lane. 26 flavors of soft serve, 4 flavors of dip for dip cones and the standard banana split, brownie buster and more, plus a decent menu of cheap eats. I would go out of my way to support small local neighborhood businesses like this.

I have been driving by this place quite a bit over the past year, and when it finally opened for the season I was pretty excited. Admittedly, I knew little of this small establishment prior to last winter, but the giant ice cream cone on the top of the building had to signify good things. Conny’s is located on Dale & Maryland, and while there isnt much else around there to draw business, it always seems to have a line of people wrapped around the front of the place. They have a decent sized lot(probably bigger than the restaurant itself) and they have good operating hours. They also have two picnic tables and benches to sit on which is a bonus. The menu is way bigger than one would expect for such a small shack. I have yet to try the food, but I definitely will next time. The reason I get excited about Conny’s is that they offer around 30 flavors of soft serve ice cream – one of my weaknesses. I have sampled the rum and coconut, and both were outstanding. The kicker is that it’s way more unique than, let’s say, DQ, but it’s also considerably cheaper. For under $ 2 you can have yourself a medium sized cone on a hot summer night. Pros: variety of soft serve flavors, very inexpensive, dedicated parking ramp, it’s hard to describe but it has a great summer ambiance. Cons: No covered seating/standing(you are gonna get wet if it rains), only open during warm weather months, a little out of the way if you are a Minneapolis native.

I had heard about Conny’s and intended to set out to find it one day. Tonight I went over to a friend’s house for the first time and she lives a block away. When I drove by I knew I’d have to stop and try it out. This was one place I had built up excitement to try and it did not disappoint. First I ordered a cheeseburger, cheese curds and a Snickers Flurry. Then I had to go back and order a smoothie to try as well. The cheeseburger was good, cheese curds were awesome and the ice cream in the Flurry was so good and creamy. The smoothie was pretty damn good too. I’ll definitely be back to try out other items on the menu, and definitely get some more ice cream.

This is always a part of my summer bucket list… like DQ but so much better. Love the soft serve-and although I usually don’t like fried food-my husband got chicken strips and onion rings-and they were amazing. Not greasy and really light… great old school independent place to support…

Yesterday I got a black cherry cone, and a vanilla cone with black raspberry dip. Both were good, just like the soft serve I remember as a kid. Two small cones were just under $ 4, which is nice in an age where a small scoop of gourmet ice cream is over $ 2. And the small size was just enough to eat right after dinner without feeling gorged. The staff were nice and friendly, and they knew how to give correct change.(That wasn’t the case at either of the locations of a certain well-represented soft serve vendor I also patronized this week.) And the soft serve was much better at Conny’s, too.

I feel bad that I didn’t fall in love with Conny’s as it seems to be an institution in the area. Loved the idea of all the flavors; however there was just something that I wasn’t thrilled about(too soft?) We also got a small dish of vanilla for our dog, who normally loves ice cream from other places and she wasn’t interested in it at all. Prices were great, so I am tempting to go back to see if it was just the flavor that I picked or if it’s me. Worth a try as many folks seem to like

It’s been scorching hot in the Twin Cities these past few weeks, and one of the best ways to cool off is with an ice cream cone. There are plenty of well-known ice cream shops in the Cities, like Izzy’s and Grand Olé Creamery in St. Paul and Sebastian Joe’s in Minneapolis. But a lesser known stop is Conny’s Creamy Cone on Dale Street in St. Paul. Creamy Cone is only open from March through October and their specialty is soft serve ice cream in more than 24 flavors. Some of their most popular soft serve flavors are pistachio, strawberry, black raspberry and caramel. Creamy Cone also serves dip cones, sundaes, malts and flurries, which are similar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I’ve always had a hard time deciding on which ice cream flavor to order, so I relied on the cashier at Creamy Cone and ordered a small cone of his favorite flavor, amaretto. The soft serve ice cream is creamier than most and melts quickly, so make sure you grab extra napkins. The amaretto flavor was mild, with just a hint of almond that came through at the end of a bite. I’ve noticed that with most of the soft serve at Creamy Cone, the flavor is generally mild so don’t expect a great burst of raspberry or cherry, but more of a subtle after taste. Conny’s Creamy Cone is the perfect pit stop on a warm summer night. Enjoy a nice walk or bike around Lake Como and top the evening off with a creamy treat for only $ 1.65.

We were out and about doing some shopping for our poor damaged house(see: ) when a hankering for a root beer float came upon me. The Dot had just one word: «Conny’s». I realized it was the middle of May and we’d yet to have made our inaugural trip of the year. So, off to Conny’s we went. I had a root beer float with Cappuccino soft-serve. You want your soft-serve in something other than plain old vanilla/chocolate/twist? Conny’s is THE place to go. They custom mix some 20-odd(some VERY odd) flavors. It didn’t disappoint. The ice cream was soft and and, well, creamy. No annoying CRUNCH of ice crystals. Perfection. It’s a great place. A real place. Picnic tables under a humongous tree. Incredible people watching. It’s everything an ice cream stand should be, and that the Big Name«ice cream» stands(you know who they are!) aren’t. Conny’s Rules!

Conny’s Creamy Cone is as good as it gets. The opening of Conny’s in March signals spring and when she closes up shop in late October, the snow’s coming soon. Conny’s is a neighborhood institution. We love her and her team and support them and defend that corner to the death. I have lived near Conny’s for 10 years and cannot imagine the ‘hood w/o that cute little white and red place. The food is good, greasy fun and the price can’t be beat. The ice cream is heavenly — my favorite is the banana soft serve. All the treats are great and worth a trip to Dale & Maryland. But get in line with us neighbors, who will be there enjoying a cone out on the picnic tables.

Local Owner! Delicious treats! Conny has 24 different flavors of soft serve in addition to chocolate and vanilla. She also has various dip cones and a flavor of the week. I highly recommend the German Chocolate Soft Serve. As well as ice cream treats, she has fried treats — the mac and cheese wedges are out of this world! It’s the perfect place on a hot summer day for lunch or a walk down there on a balmy summer evening. A great way to beat the heat in comparison to a national chain. Try it — you’ll enjoy!
