Really good food… and rumor has it they deliver. I would have to say it is the best food in town. Price is decent for the portions. Hard to find a great place in town that is super easy to get to and easy to deliver if I wanted that service. I am glad this was a recommendation by Unilocal

Being the foodie that I am, I love good Chinese food, and Great Dragon is good Chinese food: D You might be tempted to walk past this«hole in the wall» however like its next-door neighbor Los Ocampos it is a Diamond in the ruff :) The fried rice is lick the bottom of the box good, this is the type of Chinese food you get and watch Sex in the City. Seriously yummy and although everything is prepared with MSG it is really good, heck just take a nap after ;) I personally love the General Tso’s Chicken, that general was on to something… And the cream cheese Wong tongs. Is there anything better in life than cream cheese Wong tongs? :)

«Gweat dwagon please hold…» This is how every single one of my phone calls start with them. I then proceed to hold for 5 minutes until they come back on the line. They cut you off, talk so fast you get dizzy, and show absolutely no appreciation for your business. I just ordered and after a 6 minute phone call I’m fuming at how rude and impatient the girl on the phone was. But I already know once I take a bite of rice — my anger will melt away and be replaced my feelings of love and happiness. This place is the only place in the Twin Cities that has Chinese Food the way I grew up on it in NYC. I swear, if this place didn’t have such damn delicious fried chicken wings and fried rice I would never order here again. AHHHH!!! I hate when places like this have me by the bals err umm I mean stomach…

I’ve been a regular customer of Great Dragon for about 2 or 3 years now and am, overall, happy with their food and service. It’s the typical American version of Chinese food, so don’t go into it hoping for something spectacular, just good grub. The delivery times can range from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, so be sure to think ahead if you’re phoning it in. Also, be sure they brought you everything as they tend to forget something from time to time. They’re usually good about it, though, offering to replace it for free on your next order. The food itself is exactly what you’d expect from a strip mall Chinese restaurant and then some. I’d say it’s done just a little better than their closest competition.(The beef with broccoli is one of my favorites!) It’s worth the trip in or the tip money if you’re having it delivered.

I had the take-out«Ma Po Bean Curd», which is steamed tofu in a sweet-spicey sauce with assorted veggies like onions, carrots, peas, etc. The sauce was very flavorful. The portions were generous and the service was fast. I’d go there again.

I was drawn to this place solely for the fact that I was craving New York City style chinese food and this placed happens to show up when I was searching and in big letters on their website reads«New York Style» so of course I had to give it a try. It was located in a strip mall next to a laundrymat, so far so good to me(most of the chinese spots in the Ny usually next to laundrymats or close by — makes perfect sense to me — need to do something while you wait for your unmentionables to wash/dry). Upon entering the place it felt like I was actually somewhere in NY, except this was a little bit bigger(due to it also being sit down restaurant with a few seats) and they didnt have the bullet proof plastic between you and the person taking your order, it’s ok I can live without that as well. There were plenty of options to choose from and all within a reasonably cheap price. I opted to go for the dinner special that came with my choice on entrée, fried rice and egg roll. For this visit I went with the shrimp lo mein and chicken fried rice. For a dinner special it was big enough to get me full and still have a little leftovers for a late night snack. The lo mein and egg roll tasted just fine(did remind of ny style), the rice was sort of a miss for me — it dld lack sprouts/onions but it still came somewhat close to NY style(as close as I have found in MN so far). It’s been a while since I last had NY style chinese so figured I might as well give this place another try. Price and taste = recommend giving it a try

Great Dragon is a little hole-in-the-wall that serves the usual suspects of Americanized Chinese food. And while the prices are very affordable, that’s pretty much where the compliments end… Don’t get me wrong, it’s the typical ubiquitous take-out you can find many places, and at times that fits the bill. For around $ 7 you can get a so-so version of sesame chicken, Kung Pao shrimp, or about twenty other dishes with your choice of rice, which is reasonable, but nothing notable. They offer delivery, dine-in and takeout. Given the dining ambiance and service, I’d recommend choosing one of the options that involve the food being served at home.

Orange… the fried rice is orange? Okay, so maybe that part was weird, but there is a whole lot more to the story than just having orange fried rice. The first part about this trip for dinner that my partner took this evening began with me trying to find a place online… I will admit, Unilocal has really helped me in my choices lately(namely that I don’t pick a place that’s all grody-gross!) but when I saw a really short review on here by Kris S I figured out would do a handy google search as well… low-and-behold the only bad reviews were my all time favorite 10 or less word reviews that can’t possibly sway me, otherwise they were all 4 or 5 stars! So we hopped in my car(which is wonderfully Asian like our dinner) and drove ourselves the few short blocks from our house to check out the dinner service! Upon first pulling up you will not think much of it… there are literally 5 tables for four, and the order counter. Well we picked a window seat(they all are he-he) and ordered our dinner. Kyle got Chicken in Garlic Sauce, I got General Tso’s Chicken, and then an order of cream cheese wontons to share. The dinner plates that came out were HUGE and included the freakishly orange, but damn tasty chicken fried rice. Here’s where the weirdness begins. The chicken was lightly tossed in breading THERE. None of that reheated bag fare!!! It was cooked all fresh, with tasty ingredients, and seriously to perfection! The veggies were all still a little crisp(but cooked) with the perfect amount of sauce(not flooded like some places), and EVERYTHING was fresh and real! Even the chicken fried rice had little julienned bits of fresh chicken in it! I was willing to forgive the strange rice color for that! Add to it that the wontons were wrapped and cooked to order and AMAZING might I add! The ONLY reason that I am not giving this place my full 5 star rating, is due to the scary bathroom. You have to walk down a hallway next to a shelf that looks precariously as if it is going to fall on you, into this little«room» with a door that says do not enter on it… That goes into the other store behind it. A shared bathroom… ugh. Well when you walk in the first thing that hits you is the smell… then it’s the lack of towels to dry your hands, and the fact that the person before you obviously didn’t flush when they were finished… Ick. Clean your bathroom!!! Other than that, if you are looking for delicious take-out, or even delivery this place is DEFINITELY worth a stop if you are in «the hood»!
