Having been to this location several times since it opened, I have seen things change over time and I will venture to guess its because of the location. This entire area seems to be a magnet for thievery — I read a regular crime report that includes this area of St. Paul. Many ladies garments are heavily tagged for security, making it challenging and uncomfortable to try on items. I found that making returns is simply a royal pain in the ass and also that it takes an inordinate amount of time from the point of presentation to the conclusion of the transaction. On a recent evening visit, while looking for one thing in particular, we discovered a great substitute and several other items as well. We didn’t have to wait long in the check out line, and the woman at the register was friendly and pleasant.

I used to live in St. Paul and it used to be chill and frankly I never worried too much about my safety. Today upon entering this plaza on a Sunday afternoon two security trucks were on patrol. Upon entering the store they have a button that you have to press if you want to see some purses. This is not standard of TJ Maxx anywhere else I have been. Most everything I touched in the clothing and shoe section had the security tags on it. They had one corner of the store where they were just throwing shizzle on shelving that was marked down. Not as organized or merchandised as nice as other TJ’s I have been in.

This TJ Maxx is worth a visit. First thing to check out is the athletic wear section. I’ve found some Under Armour and Nike gear for bargain bin prices. I also always go through the beauty section. They’ve got great products, like dry shampoo, essential oils, and sleep masks. Plus their brush section is teaming with quality at low prices. Check the clearance kitchen section also. All those random items that you absolutely need are here. Sales here are stellar! You can find beautiful leather boots marked down to 75% off department store prices. Sad thing is I’ve never had luck with the purse section. Customer service is quality as well. Employees are attentive and hard-working. It makes this TJ-Maxx a pleasant experience.

Loved this store. Awesome bag collection, great deals on cosmetics, lotions etc. It’s very clean and organized and the employees are super friendly and helpful. I have always been a loyal Marshal’s customer but after today I may convert.

I’ve been here twice since I’ve discovered it. It’s a newer tjmaxx, right next to the dollar tree and a cub foods. Selection to me is hit or miss. The first time I came was before the holidays in December. There was soooo much stuff to look at and so many holiday gift bargains. That being said, the store looked very messy and crowded with the extra stuff. I went in intending to look and came out with more than i needed, just because it was a good deal. They had a good selection of winter coats and fitness at that time. The second time I came in was near the end of January and the place looked much more clean and organized. I did notice the selection of winter coats dwindled down, but the regular apparel was still available. Of course like most stores, I noticed things that I purchased at regular tjmaxx price, soon went to red tag and even yellow tag clearance, I just never know how they decide to mark down. They had new items I didn’t see the last time, but some items available during the holidays were also gone. For those that have never been to a tjmaxx, they have lots of brand name clothing and things at a discounted price, similar to Marshall’s or Ross. You can find clothing brands like under armour, nike, nb, columbia. There’s a shoe section for women right next to the jewelry and luggages. There’s even an area for housewares, kitchen and baby. I would come back. The location is convenient for me with a parking lot and many other stores in the area. It wasn’t crowded at all, but I did go during the week, during the early afternoon. They have good deals and the cashiers are friendly.

I’m a maxinista so when I heard a new TJ Maxx opened in St. Paul, I was thrilled. This one is located over by LA Fitness, Target, and Wal-Mart. I didn’t have issues finding a place to park. But, man, this place was hopping. New, new, new! I thought they had a very nice active wear selection although I heard one of the employees tell a customer that their active wear selection was small. Really? She also said that they have trucks arriving everyday with new stuff. So, my ears pricked up. I might have to start frequenting this place. I also checked out the jewelry counter. They have a huge selection of Juicy jewelry. I picked up a ballerina charm for half of what it would have cost me at Nordstroms. I need more time to check out their purse selection and career separates but I only had an hour. Oh yeah, there’s one thing that kind of creeped me out about this place. There was a security guard at the front of the store kind of pacing back and forth and staring everyone down. I don’t know why this creeped me out. It’s not the first time I’ve seen a security guard at TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross Dress for Less but it didn’t exactly put me at ease or make me feel welcome.
