Our family has been patients of Dr. Twillmann for 20+ years and think he’s great. I’ve had a lot of fillings, crowns, and bridges over the years and the quality of his work has been excellent. He always has my comfort in mind and never makes me feel like he’s trying to hurry through a procedure. He and the entire staff are very professional and provide top quality care in a friendly environment.

I love Family Dental! I hate to hear about the bad experience Matthew P. and his child had because I have been coming here for years, since I was a child, and have never and a bad experience. As a matter of fact, my whole family has been coming here and we have never had an experience as the one listed. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, because I don’t know, but I’m sure they haven’t built their business with such treatment. I’m not excited to go to the dentist, but they always take good care of me.
My dentist is Dr. Rizzuti and I am lucky my mom found him many years ago. He helps me relax and takes very good care of me, especially when I was going through my broken jaw experience. It was by no means fun, but it was bearable.
I’ve had my fair share of dental experiences since I broke my jaw. I have had 8 or 9 root canals and they all went well and I know everyone has a different response to root canals. My friends face swelled up, but it has never happened to me, I guess I’m lucky in a way. I have had a couple fillings and lots of cleanings.
The hygienists can be hit or miss. They have the hardest job, but some are nicer than others is all I’m saying. I guess it’s hard to clean teeth and be super gentle especially if you don’t come in every 6 months as suggested. It’s a bad habit I’ve gotten into.
Since I don’t have dental insurance I have to pay upfront or set up a payment plan. If you pay in full you get a 10% discount which is really nice. The ladies at the counter where you pay are so nice and helpful. My mom comes here a lot and the ladies remember me and who my mom is. I haven’t gone to the dentist with my mom in I don’t know how long, but they always remember. That is a nice touch.

Family Dental Services promotes itself as a place for families, hence the name. They state they specialize in working with children, its challenges, and understanding that dentists are scary to little children.
My wife took our young son to see Dr. Reed at Family Dental Services. Our son is 5 years old. The visit was horrible, and Dr. Reed was unbelievably unprofessional.
Our son was very scared. I think this is understandable and possibly somewhat expected. (Hell, I am somewhat still nervous around dentists!) Unfortunately, our son did not behave as was expected; however, he was not outrageous nor was he mean. He was merely scared. We do not condone our son’s behavior and are not making an excuse; however, Dr. Reed escalated his fear for no apparent reason.
Dr. Reed responded by telling my wife to «get him out of my chair.» He then proceeded to pull my wife aside and lecture her that she needed to discipline our child. I was completely unaware that having a dentistry degree made one parent of the year and authorize one to treat another adult with disrespect.
This escalated the situation and has caused more fear. For a place that specializes in children, I am surprised to hear that discipline was their suggestion. Yelling or being harsh on a child will only reinforce the fear.
Take your child somewhere else IMHO.
