Yoga Rick’s Youngevity Yoga is great, and so are Linn’s yoga classes with the exercise ball and others. Both are very skilled and experienced teachers who will teach you a lot but not take you beyond what you are ready for.

Came here on a guest pass recently. Great place to take classes, however, the gym is overloaded with machines and very little room to do calisthenics and weight lifting. Consider this based on your workout needs and/or goals.

Overall this Y! Is a good option for families. So why the ok rating? I take issue mainly with the way they operate, in particular the pool area, they hire these young kids with a major lack of understanding. The pool room is supposed to be fun for kids… more on that in a sec… there’s a hot tub, sauna, lap pool, and a kids pool area with a water slide and waterfall. ok, now teenage whistle blowers act almost as bad as TSA… rather than use a little common sense and focus on the things that actually matter, they choose to sweat the small stuff. e.g. coming off the slide and simply using the ladder on the side of the pool, that’s a big no! no! god forbid the roof collapses over your head just for trying to get out the water. recently I saw a grown man push a kid twice simply because the kid got in his way, none of the caught that of course… no supervision on top of the slide as kids are getting on, knowing dog on well that kids will be kids and not and cut a fool on the slide, but all they do is sit back and point out the small stuff. hate to make this so one dimensional, but the pool area just happens to be one of the better ones around if not for the staff. my son got to do a swimming test, went at full lap in a straight shot in minimal time, yet did not get a green band, because he didn’t use his arms enough… wth is that? anyway, another life guard saw him swimming during the time he was in the pool and changed his orange band to a green later on. anyway, used to enjoy the pool, now not as much, Its to the point where it’s no longer fun for my kids, I appreciate safety as much as the next parent believe me, just can’t deal with pettiness… every minor thing is an issue, its ridiculous. Anyway moving on, the Y! is not cheap by any means, they will work with you if you are in financial need, still the $ 85 a month for families is pretty hefty. I remember when it used to be around $ 55 per month just a few years ago. The rest of the Y! is great, I love the equipment, the treadmills are awesome, this is one of the better locations in Tampa Bay, plenty of space and great location. I’m very much the consumer and appreciate a good value, I think the Y! can do a better job at that…

Not impressed with the limited hours. Would it cost that much more to staff the facility until 11:30 at night? Classes are great but if you don’t get there in time to get a pass for the more popular ones you are out of luck(and in time I mean at least half an hour early) I would like to see more afternoon classes for those of us who are not 9 – 5’ers. Membership fees are not bad for a family, but for an individual you get raked over the coals

I’ve worked out here regularly for several years and continue to be happy with their services and facilities. They have great classes, especially Judy’s spin class, the pump and yoga(which has various levels to satisfy a range of ability). They have a rock climbing wall, a soccer field used for a variety of sporting events, a large indoor swimming pool and a variety of personal trainers in addition to all the usual work out equipment. The facilities are very kid friendly(they have a separate room for the younger ones as well as classes geared specifically for them). They also have a program called«Silver«Sneakers» for the retired crowd. I definitely recommend this gym since it easily accommodates both the serious gym rat and those who are beginning their first workout routine; unlike most other gyms, there is very little reason to feel self conscious, and I have never witnessed any«hogging» of equipment, creepy behavior or other obvious forms of bad gym etiquette. In fact, we have actually met new friends here, which has helped us stick to a workout routine.

A friendly facility – not new and current, but a nice place for a workout! Plus, they have an indoor pool with lap lanes.
