Joseph A. Bank Clothiers– or Jos. A Bank– is a decent men’s clothing store. They have different levels of quality and materials to fit almost everyone’s budget. This store has a decent size to it, was easy to navigate, and to find what I was looking in the store — it was intuitive.
There were two gentlemen there tonight, both checked in on my regularly to make sure I was able to find what I was looking for with out any challenges, and offering to find things in my size. One of the gentlemen was happy to measure my neck for me– so that I could ensure that it was getting the right size shirt. In our discussion, he mentioned that he was only 19 years old– this caught me by surprise. He was so professional I would have guessed he was closer in age to 25– out of college, not just out of high school.
My biggest complaint with Jos. A Bank isn’t with this store, it is with the chain in general. The store is constantly rotating through specials. Everything is marked up so that it can be reduced several times. There are often by one get two free sales, and other variations on that theme. It makes me question how much the clothes are really worth. I make a point to try to watch for sales and then go purchase what I need.
One of the reasons I keep going back to Jos. A Bank is that their shirts are cut in a way that fits my frame well. They have slim fit shirts, but their standard shirts are longer and more full. I always feel like I look sharp when I am wearing one of their shirts– and the quality of the clothes last longer than a lot of other dress style shirts.

Terrible experience.
Wedding tuxedos were a horrible fit. Required 3 trips back before the ceremony to get it right, then they forgot two pieces of a tuxedo. Try to get customer service to respond to complaints — took more than a week.
Never again.

Upon entering the Joseph A. Banks in Tyrone Mall with my husband and mother, I was greeted with silence. Odd as there were 3 sales associates in the store and no one else. We then browsed through the aisles looking for a wool overcoat for my husband. As we browsed, I felt eyes on me yet no assistance was given.
We found two coats and he tried on 4 total. Still no assistance. During our visit, two other customers walked in and were promptly helped. Stunned by the lack of service, we made our egress… again to deafening silence.
I do not condone sizing customers up to ascertain if we are willing to spend; however, us in our jeans and t-​shirts compared to the other older gentlemen in polo shirts does make me wonder.
Will I be back again? Perhaps not this franchise, but definitely not this store.

When everything is on sale every day it makes you wonder. Nice clothes, but I find the shirts don’t hold up to commercial laundering. The collars and cuffs on about half of the dozen or so JAB shirts I own are fraying already. I still own some Nordstom store brand shirts that are pushing 10 yrs old and still look brand new. You get what you pay for.
