Good quality chocolate in clever and amusing packaging — is it as good as it gets? For me it is. Bloomsberry could well be my new favourite chocolate, and I don’t care if I have to pay a little more for a simple bar of the brown stuff. The chocolate is 50% strength, just right to let you taste the cocoa yet smooth enough to feel like a sinful childhood snack that will ruin your appetite and get mum all cross. Sure, it’s not a delish 90% snob-choc like Godiva and it’s not the cheap and cheerful Cadbury’s or Yorkie but it falls perfectly between — morish but classy. These chocolates actually are made in New Zealand but distributed in the US through this Salem address. Although it’s something you can find all over the country, I did first spot their chocolate bars round the corner at Salem’s Jaho café(shout out to Jaho, great place!). It’s not hard to be tempted to by the chocolates with the fantastic packaging: EMERGENCYCHOCOLATE BOCHOX GIRTHCONTROL Their team of Kiwi designers deserves a raise. Especially as chocolate is the one thing booming in the current recession.
