Specialties
The Center for Community Innovation (CCI) is a nonprofit whose purpose is helping other nonprofits, assuring their health, effectiveness, and efficiency. CCI is working to become a trusted resource for Mid-Valley nonprofits. We serve as a catalyst and convener to achieve greater community involvement with nonprofits, increasing their collective impact primarily on communities throughout Marion, Polk, Linn, Benton and Yamhill counties. We share proven practices, and promote solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and the communities they serve.
Our vision is a vibrant and well-supported nonprofit network with community organizations operating effectively, efficiently and sustainably. CCI will act on behalf of nonprofits in four areas: workforce development, volunteerism & philanthropy, leadership development & sustainability, and fostering collaboration.
History
Established in 2014.
Center for Community Innovation (CCI) was formerly the YWCA of Salem. We reorganized early in 2014, after experiencing financial challenges stemming in part from the recessionary economy.
YWCA values continue to underlay the vision and programming at CCI. For example, our trainings are geared to strengthen charities from the inside out by increasing the skills of nonprofit staff and leaders. A scholarship fund has been created to assure these opportunities are especially available to women and to charities working to eliminate racism; empower women and families; and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
