We celebrate life with our wines, Cuban style.
History
Established in 2003.
A proud and deeply rooted Cuban heritage inspired the name Cubanisimo for founder Mauricio Collada, Jr. Born in Havana, Cuba, and a lover of all things Cuban (except Castro), Mauricio developed a fascination with wines when a colleague during his medical residency shared knowledge gained from growing up in a winemaking family. Mauricio, a Salem based neurosurgeon, was entranced by the elegance, complexity and vibrancy of Oregon Pinot Noir and it was an easy decision to pursue his passion with the 1991 purchase of a 21 acre parcel nestled in the gentle Eola Hills. In 2003, the Cubanisimo label was formed and our tasting room was opened in 2007.

Business Owner
Mauricio was born in Havana, Cuba in 1953. He came to the United States in 1961, after the Cuban Revolution nationalized his family’s business in Cuba. Mauricio learned about Pinot Noir through a classmate when he was studying medicine. After his medical practice brought him to the Willamette Valley, he decided to plant a vineyard in the young and burgeoning wine country of the NW.
