Daisy Cleaners

I accidentally washed several polo shirts in hot water and of course they shrunk. I took them to Jim at Daisy Cleaners and they were able to easily re-​size them so now they fit perfectly again. If I had tried to do that myself I’m sure they would have all ended up misshaped and looking terrible.

Well let’s begin by I only knew about this place from the Bridal shop that I purchased my gown from, boy should I have trusted my gut and stuck to some place around Boston.
Last week I drove up to Daisy Cleaners and dropped off my dress to be cleaned as there was a spot on it that needed to come out before I could wear it. I was told the dress would be ready by Friday and if there was a problem someone would call me, only because I stressed that I was driving from Boston and didn’t want to waste my time. This past Saturday I drove up to Daisy Cleaners with my sister and went to pick up my dress. Well where could my dress be they asked? It wasn’t hanging in the window and it wasn’t in the «boiler room» as one girl said. Imagine the panic and shock that is now coming over me. Why would you even think a wedding dress would be in the boiler room? Well the dress had to be somewhere because their trusty computer said it was «bagged» on the 16^th. Well, where is it and you better find it quickly! After numerous attempts to the owners, oh because now it could be at his home, no one would answer the phone. Next call, was to the girls sister who also worked at Daisy and she told me all about how she was out sick and how with her kids, personally at this point I have been in your store for at least a half an hour and just want my wedding dress. Please stop stalling me! Finally the owner’s wife called and said oh yea we have it at the house. She finally shows up and tells me he took it home «by accident» when he took others home to do whatever with and said to me I didn’t think you would be up here so quickly for it. I said to her does the slip not say ready by Friday, sorry not letting my wedding dress sit in the hands of people I don’t know.
After the panic, almost heart attack, and no one knowing where my dress was for a good 45 minutes (which let me tell you felt like days…) they still had the audacity to charge me for the cleaning.
Ladies, save yourself the time and money and find someplace else to clean your dress.

What a wonderful locally owned and operated business! I brought a comforter to Daisy cleaners and they did a professional job. They also have been cleaning winter coats for free that are brought in from Ski Haus’s annual coat drive. These coats are donated to shelters in Lawrence, MA. Daisy Cleaners is a great example of a small local business supporting the community in which they operate!

I would highly recommend Daisey Cleaners. They were refered to me from Madelines Daughter and they did a fantastic job cleaning my wedding gown for me.
To give you an idea of how good of a job, the owner personally offered to pic up, and drop off my dress at my house, as he was visiting the city I live in for family visits. Further, since my dress had been worn across a huge lawn, it had grass stains all accross the hem. He (Jim?) went in depth describing the cleaning process they use, and it’s special application for my very particular fabric. I did not think they were too expensive, as I had been quoted HUGE amounts for cleaning this dress, and they had the state of the art equipment. Above and beyond customer service, and my dress came out great!

Very odd that this dry cleaner suddenly posts a reaction 5 months later and even more odd then that they separately also email me telling me they ‘hesitated’ to post a reaction and nothing else of substance other than that they hoped I found a better one.
Of course I felt compelled then to post here then which much better dry cleaners and alterations provider I found and so I did.

I agree that the tailor they use is just awful (I previously reviewed Prospect Tailor… terrible!), so just go somewhere else for your tailoring needs. Daisy Cleaners has been around forever. I remember coming here with my mother when I was a little kid. We still use them now and will continue to do so. They cleaned and preserved my wedding dress beautifully, I have brought in my husbands formal fire department uniforms, along with a few items that I dont dare to wash myself (because I have a bad habit of shrinking everything I put into the laundry), a few items that had to be done ASAP for a wake/​funeral, and a couple of my nice purses that desperately needed cleaning. I picked up one of these purses today, I honestly didnt have much hope for it — I’ve had this bag for years, it is a light tan canvas Coach purse with green leather piping around the seams. Its a beautiful bag, but was absolutely FILTHY and every other cleaner I took it to wouldnt attempt it. I brought it to Daisy with a few other items and when I picked it up today my jaw dropped! It looks like a new bag! They did a fantastic job and I cant wait to use my ‘new’ old bag again!

Daisy Cleaners was helpful, professional and friendly! It’s true that people bring their dresses in from all over New England– the shop was full of wedding dresses. I had my dress pressed and they charged me about $ 30.00 (I had a shorter, cocktail-​length dress– they’d charge more for the floor-​length, beaded things…). I got the dress back in a new garment bag with a cardboard bodice-​form to keep it in shape. It was picture-​perfect for the most important day of my life!
Highly recommend them to anybody needing their wedding dress pressed before the big day. Thanks!
