We really want better for Gilgamesh. They are so close, we can walk to the place. Seriously, we must like abuse because we keep giving them chance after chance, we have been five times and have had non existent service every time.

Great burgers,. Open late or later than most around here. Admit to loving Mamba. And needing to stay away due to current need to not eat French fries. But I’ll be back. Ready for burger, fries, beer. Warming: Don’t go on Tuesday Night if you don’t want 90 decibel trivia madness racket.

I haven’t been to the brewery, but I’ve drank the Radler, and Mamba«beers» and they’re not so good.

Great food, beer, & location! You wouldn’t expect it driving down the road, but moments after parking the car you find yourself sitting next to a stream(if weather permits outdoor seating) sipping one of their great beers made on-site and eating quality pub food. It’s a great pub dining experience!

If I could give it zero stars I would but I can’t really tell you how the food was because we never got service. Showed up with my girlfriend at 11:15am there we maybe 5 people in the place. Stood at the entrance for about 7 – 8 minutes while the staff just walked by us multiple times but not looking at us or saying a word. I finally went to the bar and asked the bartender if we should seat ourselves, he said someone should have seated us but go ahead and take a seat. Sat for another 10 minutes, lots of workers walking by, not one of them asking to take our order or give us a menu. I went back up to the bar and ordered 2 beers, got the first one, he said the second would be out shortly. After another 15 minutes and no one taking an order or doing anything, I walked back up to the bar and asked the bartender if the other beer was coming, he looked at me and had no clue what I was talking about. I tossed a $ 5 bill on the bar and we walked out… still no one ever came to talk to us or take our order even though the place was pretty much empty. Told my girlfriend I was going to make a Unilocal account just to tell people DONOTGOHERE… SERVICEISPOORTONON-EXISTENT. Just a terrible, awful place… much better places in town than this place. Reading the other reviews it looks like service is not their forte at all. I would avoid this place and get much better beers anywhere but here.

Gilgamesh! Great job! This is really one of the best spots around! Beer– nice interesting selection. It did the trick. Food– we thought our meals were excellent. I see a lot of past reviews with low scores, but that’s not my experience. I’d put the food above a Mcmennamen(which is consistent, yet average). We really loved our meals. Great happy hour too. Atmosphere-great outdoor seating. Spacious indoor seating. Here going with the industrial/brewery look, which works. Service– Eh– it’s obvious they care and are trying hard. They’re just not super organized. I’m grading in a curve, because Salem has always lacked any sort of decent casual dining. This is a great spot– I recommend it on a regular basis.

Great atmosphere and food! Home brews are delicious :) very difficult to find but surprisingly elegant once you see it! Great for date night or a group celebration.

I came here because I heard of the awesome outdoor seating and I was not disappointed. It was a gorgeous day outside and their outside tables were wonderful, as were those inside. Bathrooms were clean. Service was friendly and prompt. This would be a good place for a meal for two or large groups. So… the food. Having been a first-time visitor I can only comment on what I’ve had so far. The menu had some nice choices; some things you don’t see in other restaurants, which was a bonus. It was a little disappointing to see the cubano sandwich on ciabatta bread. Most things were either on ciabatta or a brioche bun. I’m not a big ciabatta fan to begin with, but it definitely doesn’t belong on a cubano sandwich. The pickles were in big chunks rather than thin slices, the bacon was small and in tough pieces, the pork was dry and there was too much of it. I did not enjoy this sandwich at all. I gave three stars because of the nice venue, friendly staff and interesting menu. I have a feeling there are some tasty treats I would still like to try. So the cubano ain’t so hot… so what. Everything else considered, I will definitely give Gilgamesh another try and would recommend you do too!

So yeah… not a fan of their beer at all. Had two vodka diets at the tune of $ 24. have you lost your damn mind? They didn’t even taste good. I will only go back if forced.

It is a secret beer garden in the middle of a mixed industrial area. I loved the fish tacos and I like the dj jazzy hef. Eat out back when the weather is good and you will feel like a million bucks!

the beer selection is made at this establishment is great. but the food seems to be a bit so so. considering it all I hope they would get their kitchen a little bit more in line and upscale for what they are is really a nice place. outdoor dining and the facilities outside are very nice

Awesome place to go, we love the food, the service has always been great, the beer wonderful. We are always greeted when we enter, the outdoor seating is nice in the summer, the fire place is a nice touch to the place. I took my in laws here and they loved it.

Stopped here after hearing about the beer and reading about them online. Loved the beers we tried. My wife is not a big beer drinker and she really liked the Mamba. Food was excellent. The next time we are in the Salem area we will be stopping in for a beverage and a nibble.

I was excited to try this place since I heard good things about it. We started out with the beer sampler. The twelve different beers came out with a handwritten paper telling us the names of the beers. It was slightly confusing to us, especially since the paper had been soaked in beer before it even arrived at our table. The food was decent and largely portioned. Our server had a really quiet voice and we couldn’t hear what he was saying. It was kind of awkward whenever he came around because he would mumble something and then we had to guess what he was saying. The atmosphere was nice and there were many families enjoying food together. I noticed some of the chefs inside the kitchen were joking around with the food. Made me wonder what exactly they did with my food.

Wow — fun place to stop in. The first thing you’ll notice about this place is the ambiance. There is a lot of dark wood around, with an open layout. It ends up giving the place a high-end classic feel. And they have a gorgeous patio that backs up onto a creek, giving you a relaxing stay with some great scenery. Definitely sit outside if you can manage it. The food here is really quite good as well. I had a Cobb salad with a red wine vinaigrette. It was really well put together, and tasty. The dressing was light and complemented the salad well. The portion was a tad smaller than I expected, but still plenty for dinner. I would happily eat here again. Service was awesome as well — I sat at the bar, so expectations were different, but I never had to wait for anything or anyone. Several people were happy to help and get me whatever I needed. Unfortunately, the beer keeps this place from getting a fifth star. Cool venue, but the beer is, at best, mediocre. The one good thing is that their flights are cheap — $ 6 for 6 four ounce samples, and $ 1 for each additional sample. I’m a beer nerd, so I really expected some higher quality stuff from such a nice place. I thought their best beer was their black IPA, but even that was only«decent.» Most of their beers seemed aimed to be inoffensive to as many people as possible, without actually being good at anything. Honestly, they had nothing on draught(and I had all eight of their draughts) that I would ever order again. Sad.

Very good food. Fries are the bomb and gilgaribs are very good also. Very friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. Don’t want to tell too many people about this place cuz don’t want it packed. They play football games with a projector and have TVs

Great local restaurant in South Salem. I never had the chance to eat at their downtown location, but this newer location was very enjoyable. We went in during Monday night football, and it was fairly crowded. They have a small bar and lots of high table seating, as well as an open restaurant with lots of seating, and a couch/large tv area. If you are into social sporting events this would be a great place to watch a game while eating/drinking. I had the fish tacos which were spicy and tasty.

Pretty neat location tucked in an industrial area. Lots of seating for foo and a small bar area. They have a fireplace, outdoor seating(for beautiful fall endings like this), and a giant projection TV. I imagine it can get busy here. I am a fan of the non-hop Mamba but branched out today. Went for their Falconer, a lighter IPA. It was fine, but not really my cuppa tea(or beer). Should have tried their fresh hop IPA, but will try that next time.

While in town we decided to swing by Gilgamesh to try their beers. It was a little challenging to find, tucked away in the back right-hand side of the parking lot with no clear signs on the actual building(or none that we saw). Nice open interior, sort of industrial meets rustic with a large fireplace on one wall. We found a spot by the bar and checked out the beer and food menus. Not much on the food menu for vegetarians but luckily we’d eaten a big lunch so just ordered a side of fries. The beer menu was a different story, and we were here for the brews anyway so my rating is purely based on the beer and service. Here’s what we tried: Mamba: My new favorite beer. 0IBU and brewed with black tea. I felt like this beer was made just for me. So good, a liter of it found it’s way back home with me. Hubby being a hophead was less impressed. He can stick to his IPAs. This is MY kind of beer. :) Cranberry Saison: A little sour and very fruity. Couldn’t drink a lot but would make a nice beer on a hot summer’s day. CB Bock: Hubby enjoyed it. I thought it was just OK. Filbert Lager: Really good. Hopscotch Ale: Good DJ Jazzy Heff: Ok but a bit tasteless Ridgeway IPA: 100IBU and made hubby very happy. Vader Coffee CDA: Didn’t try this as hubby recommended I didn’t. He said it was full of coffee flavor up front and then finished with a hoppy aftertaste. He loved it. Service was really good. If you like trying a good range of different beers check out this place. Not your run of the mill stuff. Personally, I highly recommend the Mamba(unless you are a hophead). It was REALLY good!
