This has become our go to place for Chinese Takeout. Delivery is super quick. The food always comes hot. The combination plates are cheap and give you a large amount of food. Great value. My favorite is the General Gaos chicken although everything I’ve gotten is good! Fried Shrimp, Chicken fingers, egg rolls, chow mein. Standard stuff but they do it well! A consistent product goes a long way!

Very impressed this is real Chinese and the portion size is worth the money. I’m from Texas and was able to visit this place. The shrimp fried rice had everything in it unlike the others. You won’t go wrong if you choose this place. I’m programming their number in my phone so when I come back I can make the call

Your standard Chinese takeout/delivery place. We had our food delivered, and it showed up fresh and hot. The only negative mark was that a pourable amount of oil was in the little egg roll bag… Besides that It was ok.

After years of searching for a local Chinese food restaurant that was fresh and tasty, this is the place to go. Have been twice now and both times was more than satisfied. A+

I have been here once before and i was disappointed then as i am now. I thought i would give it a second try. so the first time I believe i got sesame chicken, which just tasted gross and very fast food like and crab rangoons which were disgusting(terrible flavor and cold), and peking ravioli, which was ok. this time I got peking ravioli, again not bad, although they didnt pack me duck sauce. I also got the boneless spare ribs which were burnt, dry and too chewy, so gross. I also got the vegetable mooshi, it tasted pretty good, but it looked way to mushy and liquidy i almost didnt even tried it, but i did, and it was very greasy and fatty(i’m not saying i wanted it to feel completely healthy, it’s americanized chinese food, it’s gonna be unhealthy) but it was way to unhealthy and salty, I could only eat one serving. Definetely not going back! it may be cheap but so not worth it

The best Chinese food on the north shore, always so fresh and delious. The food is good quality the delivery is fast. They are kinda rude over the phone but you do get good food tho it worth the rudeness. I recommend this spot to anyone who wants good food with lots of flavor.

How much you like this place depends on what you get. They have many dishes which are typical of Americanized Chinese food. I hate to say that the Crab Rangoons were a miserable failure. They were not crisp, not hot, and the filling lacked failure. Everything else was good, not bad, but not worth writing home about either. Pork fried rice and lobster sauce are nice, is is beef teriyaki. Beef with peapods had too many peapods and other vegetables. I was expecting there to be more beef, and less other vegetables. I’ve had other things here, I can’t remember any of them, which is indicative of nothing-special-ness. I go here because it is near where I live, and had enough to satisfy a craving for Chinese when I don’t feel like cooking/eating at home. TO be honest, I have had better chinese takeout in several locations I will give the folks at Honga one thing. They know how to pack a bag with food really well so nothing brsts, and everythig fits nice and snug.

This place is great for take out Chinese food. The food arrives quickly and piping hot. Never had any problems or a bad meal. Very consistent.

We get take out from Honga quite often. My wife loves the egg rolls, my son the teriyaki and rice, and I eat the Szechuan rice plates. The service is quick and friendly and the prices are reasonable. There is parking in front and in a lot out back

My husband and I have been looking for a good Chinese delivery place since we moved to Salem this summer — it’s been harder to find that either of us expected. But Honga came through last night, with solid takes on all the basics: General Gau’s Chicken, Vegetable Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, etc.(The Wonton Soup was especially good!) They have an online ordering system, and the food arrived FAST. Prices are also very reasonable. We will definitely be ordering from Honga again!

This Chinese joint is one of the BEST I have ever eaten at. Ever. The food is fresh and the delivery guy is not only fast but incredibly nice. Kung Pow anything, Sesame Chicken, and to-die for egg rolls. Makes me wish I still lived in Salem…

So my co workers and I ordered from here last week after waiting an hr and a half for our food to arrive they called us asking for our address again and then explained to us they mixed up our order and brought it to the wrong location. Not only did we wait super long for them to re cook new food they didn’t offer any compensation for the invonvince on their behalf not even a sorry, however we got attitude from the person on the phone. Even after all this we decided to order from them again and they inpotitely stated they will no longer deliver to where we were because of their incompetence!

Horrible place, they put horror in horrible! This place is the definition of gross! Just moved to Salem tried this place for the hell of it. I regret every second of it. Ordered a pu pu platter, wings were cold and dry, boneless spare ribs were burnt, the chicken teriyaki sticks barely had meat on it, scallion pancakes were dry and nasty. I wouldnt feed this to my dog. When I first went into the restaurant it smelled and of course the whole family looks at you and speaks in there language. Whatever, when in Salem don’t go here. You have been warn, fear the monkey!

I tried Honga for the first time yesterday. I ordered the medium spice orange chicken and a small container of rice. It was delivered quickly and the food was very tasty. It was enough for two meals(so i’m enjoying it for dinner tonight). I was surprised to find actually pieces of orange skin in with the chicken(and few pieces of broccoli) but i thought that made it seem more authentic. Normally I like spicy food — the mixture of orange with a slightly spicy flavor was not my favorite — but i still enjoyed the food. The delivery man was very polite. I will order from them again I’m sure!

Just moved to Salem and wanted to find some good East Coast Chinese(we moved from LA which for some reason can’t pull off Northeast American Chinese). Unfortunately, this place is ok, not great, fast chinese food. We ordered Beef with Broccoli, General Chao’s, and Scallion Pancakes(We didn’t have a menu so we ordered staples). The Scallion Pancakes were doughy, not crispy, and did not come with nearly enough sauce. The Beef with Broccoli was ok, too salty and the broccoli was a bit mushy. The General was very good, definitely the highlight, but was a little overcooked and tough. Again, this place is fine, not great cheap chinese. I am hoping to find a better option soon.

As far as chinese take out goes, this is it. So much flavor, great fried rice, The fried food crispy and not too oily. I lived in Salem most of my life and then moved to California, where the chinese food is just not the same! Moral of story. Massachusetts people: love your Chinese food. Love your honga. Order some. Have an eggroll for me.
