DECEPTIVEPRICING at Kay Jewelers in Salem, NH. We purchased a Levian pendant that was priced at $ 2,100. The Manager on duty told the Salesperson that he could only go down to $ 1,890. The next day, my wife saw the same item on Kay’s Website for $ 1,599. The pendant went back to Kay Jewelers and we won’t be participating in their game of chance, any more. The store cannot match their own company’s prices? ZERO Stars, if possible.

Do not use this jeweler especially if you have to send out your jewelry. I had my WEDDINGRING and Engagement ring sent out. ONE prong was sharp and I needed it filed so it didn’t scratch. I had a PROMISE date that was two weeks from when I brought it in… No big deal. Until I went in on my promise date and it wasn’t ready until several days later. THEN when I got it back… The prongs were ALL filed down like squares. It was 100% worse then before. To the point it made scratches on my arm. I brought the ring back immediately and they compared it to another Leo ring. The person was just as surprised as I was. Rounded compared to squared … Which meant that my diamond was more able to fall out. When I contacted corporate about it, they apologized and gave a $ 45 gift card… Yay thanks. I got a call back a week later saying that they have to replace the ENTIRE head of my ring!!! BUT to get even better… They claim to have forgotten to do anything when it got sent out so it wasn’t their fault! They are telling me that in the last three years, or in the shipment that the corners got filed down into sharp squares. RIDICULOUS! DONOTSENDYOURJEWELRYOUTTHROUGHTHISSTORE!!! Clearly they don’t even write down what they are doing so who knows what they are actually doing when you send it out. I will travel miles before having to send it out to the Salem, NH location again. They were rude and the blame game doesn’t work for me. My wedding ring is still not back after many weeks. Thank god I have the $ 45 to make up for all the trouble.

I called Kay Jewelers to get more information about their diamond setting event. I chatted with the man on the phone about the upcoming date. I was told that my stone was most likely a fake. How can you determine that from a phone call and zero information? Very, very unprofessional and that was just over the phone.

I started to come here because my homeslices at JB decided to get out da BIZNACH.(Chris, my man, where did u go?!). So I came here for my 6 month inspections cause they are the sister store and will accept the warranties from any JB store. It was OK. Sandy from JB works here and I really only like to deal with her because she seems like the only one who can actually get the paperwork right. I religiously come every 6 months so my warranty does not get void and there is always a problem with at least one of the items not being tracked correctly in the next visit. It’s very annoying. So, I highly recommended that you seek her out for this particular service. Anyway, Kay is affordable enough and you can get a credit card to there for larger purchases. They’re not the best quality, but a good value I’d say.

Sadly, today I write this review that I had put off waiting for an answer from them. I got my answer yesterday that, no, Kay would not make good on our transaction and replace a chipped diamond. About 6 weeks ago I noticed something different about my engagement ring when I cleaned it. My husband looked at it and also thought something wasn’t right. He reminded me that we had a guarantee and I got out the paperwork. My heart sank when I read the fine print that in order to have the guarantee honored you must have brought the ring in every 6 months to have some kind of documented check. We paid nearly $ 7,000 for this ring 2 years and 7 months ago it was a treasured gift from my husband celebrating 25 years of marriage. When we were first married, we couldn’t afford a ring such as this. I was so thrilled and excited that day and if they told me of this guarantee, I sure do not recall it. I am the type who takes good car of things so if I am told to come in, I do it. I take care of my home, car and various things and make sure I honor whatever it is I purchase. I called them and they had me contact customer service in Ohio who told me to bring in the ring. There were disputes as to weather it was cracked or not. They sent it to Leo, who cut the ring originally in NYC. They called me yesterday and said it does in fact have a chip on the stone. BUT, they would not honor their guarantee as I did not bring the ring in to have it checked. I told them they never told me and if they had, I would have brought the ring in regularly. I contend that even though I had brought the ring in, that wouldn’t have prevented the stone from chipping. I could see if I lost the stone and had never had the ring in there to be checked that they would have a valid point as no one checked the prongs. I was not aware of their policy and I even have brought my ring in to get it clean/checked several times but no one asked me if I needed documentation each time it was checked. Wouldn’t you think if they have a policy that if I show up there to get the ring cleaned and«checked» they would ask me if I needed documentation? I even had it cleaned/checked at a different location(Tilton Factory Outlets) while on vacation in that area twice and they didn’t ask me if I needed documentation either, even though I said we purchased it there. I feel very let down and I feel the policy is in the very fine print and one of the ways they get away with not replacing or repairing a ring is to skip mention of the guarantee check up policy when you buy a ring. I was excited about my new ring, I got home and put all my ring receipts in a safe place and went on with my life. I really feel cheated and my beautiful stone is chipped. Considering the mark up they probably have and the bad reputation this transaction will give to them, as I plan to report this poor policy(already on my Facebook page) and have filed a BBB complaint against them, wouldn’t it be cheaper to be a reputable company? Is there honor and integrity anymore? Does anyone stand behind what they sell? At any rate, I hope they respond to my BBB complaint and perhaps I will then update this review or remove it. Right not, it’s buyer beware as far as I am concerned. I feel so let down. Is this ring now worthless? Will the stone break apart due to the chip in it? I have no assurances and I feel like I don’t even want to look at it right now as all of this has taken the joy of ownership away. I cannot tell you the number of times per day I would gaze at that ring and note it’s sparkle, now that sparkle is forever tarnished. I do want to make mention that their manager, Gary, is a nice man. His hands seem to be tied as far as corporate policy goes. He has been kind and understanding to me, but he still cannot help me. I think he feels badly for me, but he is unable to do a single thing. Too bad someone like him is not in charge of their corporate customer service as I think he would be able to judge the crackpots from the good customers. I have two kids of marriageable age, I might have proudly told my kids to shop there for an engagement ring, now I’ll tell them to never go near the place. How many others will I tell? Aren’t happy customers worth taking a risk on once in awhile? I’m not a liar, and if I say I truly didn’t know about their 6 month policy thing, why not give me the benefit of a doubt?
