History

Established in 1998.

R & R Tree Service was started by Robert and Jannai Cornett in 1998, the sole proprietors with nothing but a 1984 Ford Ranger (which their eldest daughter at the time was learning to drive and hated that it always stuck in second gear!), a chainsaw and a rake, a little blood and a lot of sweat. With their dedication to customer satisfaction and keeping prices reasonable, the corporation now employs 30 hard working and dedicated workers. This also includes our two shop mechanics, five certified arborists, and two very nice office ladies.

I asked for an estimate through their website and got a quick response. I thought the cost was quite high, but none of the other companies I contacted even responded with an estimate, so I went with R & R. Even though they had to schedule the work a few weeks out, they were quick to take the full payment right away. On the day the work was scheduled, they did most of the job, but left a large piece of trunk behind. It took two emails to get them to respond and then I got a phone call while I was work and the guy they sent out seemed annoyed because he said he was the stump grinder and what was left was a piece of trunk, not a stump. I really don’t know how the work is divided at R & R and I really don’t care, I just wanted the job I paid for completed. I wasn’t impressed with the level of service given the price I paid to have the job done. Eventually the job was completed.

I didn’t use their tree-​trimming services, but I can personally vouch for the Men behind the Logo. This just happened today while I was fly fishing on the Mckenzie river, Memorial Day 2015. I noticed the SUV behind me on hwy 126 was pulling a pop-​up camper which was zigzagging behind the car getting way out of control. I slowed keeping an eye on my rear view mirror hoping things would stabilize. It didn’t, the trailer came loose from the vehicle and crossed the lane then back into the lane and into the ditch. The driver was a mom with her mother and 2 daughters in the car. I turned my vehicle around to assist. Seconds later a pickup truck with R n R tree trimming stopped and said he had a winch. Talk about the Calvary showing up for this poor Mom. He could have just drove past but as a veteran he didn’t. He said it was the 2nd roadside assist that weekend he did as a Good Samaritan. The rest of his Army buddies were 20 minutes behind him and all stopped to help once they saw what was going on! Out-​frigging-​Standing! These guys are for real! God Bless R n R tree service! We recently had a wind storm that brought down trees all over town. We had one tree fall over our free-​standing garage. Luckily, it didn’t actually penetrate the structure so damage to the garage was minimal. Despite this, the tree broke over the top and extended into our circular driveway. R&R arrived at our office within two hours and had all of the major wood removed within another two hours (this was a 120 foot pine tree, about 16 inches wide at the base!). This was also late in the evening with the storm still raging; they didn’t get done until after 10 pm. The next day they returned to clean up remaining debris.
Fantastic, expedited. service, and according to our insurance agent they only charged us about half what they normally see charged.

I have called them a few times. Once at my office to clean up some trees, and then most recently when there was a wind storm with a tree down on my home on a weekend. They responded quickly and did a great job both times. With the wind storm, I had a tree through my roof at 1pm on a weekend and by 3pm it was cleared, cleaned up, and they patched my roof to keep the rain out until the roofers and contractor are able to make it. The yard was cleaned and the extra wood was cut to length for a fireplace at my request and stacked.

I have used R & R Tree Service three times over the last two years and each time their work product exceeded my expectations. Before completing the work, they visited my home and provided me with an accurate and reasonable estimate. When they performed the work, they were thorough and cleaned up better than before they arrived.

Tree they planted at a place I own died within a few months. Tried for months to get them to suggest a replacement tree and suggested we split the cost. Despite nearly weekly calls and emails to them for several months, I could not get any further. They were always polite but it was like dealing with a brick wall. Finally I gave up; I researched on my own and bought a replacement tree at a local nursery that came with a 1-​year guarantee, which is flourishing.
