I just got my haircut at Salon Redd and It’s hands down the best haircut I’ve ever received for several reasons. First, I’ll talk about the Salon itself.
Salon Redd is the premier Salon in Salem, the state of Oregon, and likely the entire Nation. Part of why I say this is because of the aesthetic beauty of the venue. You walk in and are surrounded by happy, beautiful people, who are the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. And then you see the interior design. The walls are flush with warm red and beige patterns and the stations themselves are inviting and impressive! Everywhere you look, the cabinets, shelves, chairs, everything is so nicely arranged and constructed that you feel as if you were transported to a high end salon in NYC or L.A. but it’s even better! I would visit this place just to spend time in the magnificently crafted salon alone.
Secondly, the haircut, and the owner.
I was blessed to receive a haircut from Cindy, the owner of this establishment. Cindy is the most artistic, genuine, friendly hairstylist that I’ve ever met. She doesn’t just talk to fill the silence, she actually cares about the people she works with. Her staff reflect her amazing charisma as well! Sitting and chatting with these fine people was one of the best experiences of 2015 alone! They’re fantastically authentic. Very rarely can one find any business with REAL people offering genuine service with care.
I love love love this salon. Every time I see my haircut I’m reminded of the amazing people that work here. Congratulations on having such a resilient salon and for leaving such a great impression on me. I’ll do my best to tell everyone I know what a great place this is.

Got an appointment because of the good reviews here. I got the worst haircut I have ever gotten. One side of my hair was layered 2 inches shorter then the rest. I didn’t notice until I got home and brushed my hair out. It was very noticeable. They did refund my money without any fuss which is nice. I really don’t even know how someone could screw up hair that much. I paid a lot of money somewhere else to fix it which is not desirable. I don’t like the haircut I was forced to get to fix their screwup, but it is better than it was.

Just moved to salem area and checked hair salon reviews on Unilocal and I have to agree that this salon was great. I made a call and was able to get in the next day with Mika.
Since I was new I just asked for a trim, she did excellent job in making me feel comfortable and made my hair look beautiful. I made another appointment for hair color.
I have a hard time getting a cut that I like. Mika and this salon was the answer to my prayers and I had interview that day. I felt confident!

I absolutely love this salon. I went in to get bangs and a trim. Tracy worked magic on my hair, and the price was really reasonable. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. I’m definitely going back.

I just happened to walk in without an appointment. I checked the Unilocal reviews and felt good. Brittney was able to take me. She did exactly what I asked and the price was right! I would totally recommend her!

Stopped in this salon on a whim based solely on Unilocal reviews and was very happy that I did. They were able to taken me in without an appointment and saw me within ten minutes of my stepping in the door.
The owner Cindy was friendly, accommodating, and made me feel very welcome. She seemed experienced and knowledgeable. Even if the salon itself was not up to par, I would definitely go back to see her. Fortunately, the salon was beautiful. It was clean, very spacious and felt like a place you would want to spend time relaxing in.
I can’t wait to find a reason to go back soon. Thank you Cindy!

This review is solely based upon customer service… I called on a Wednesday to schedule a haircut, I was surprised the gal had an availability for Saturday! Valentines day, I was sooo excited for my haircut, it’s been over a year since my last cut! I give the gal my name and asked if she needed my number, she said no… should have been my first red flag. I thought it was weird, but hey, she got me in last minute.
I get to the salon about 5 minutes before my appointment and one of the ladies working had to discontinue her foiling to help me. I didn’t remember the name of the stylist so she had to run around the salon asking if anyone had an 11 am haircut with me (I should have written the stylists name down). After reviewing their appointment book she informed me of who my appointment was with and that she was not in yet. She directed me up the steps (nicely) where I waited for the next 20 – 25 minutes.
No one checked on me. No one said anything. I felt like a weirdo sitting there staring at my phone watching the clock. Getting more upset by the minute. I was respectful enough to show up on time, so could the stylist. At the very least a courtesy call to her place of employment to state she was going to be late would have gone a long way.
After 15 – 20 minutes beyond my original appointment time lapsed, I got up and walked out. Like a fart in the wind I completely disappeared without any other person working there noticing or saying anything.
I left disappointed and upset. Then annoyed that the reason I chose this salon was Unilocal.Lol, the irony.
Again this review has nothing to do with the haircut I received… because I never got one :(my time wasn’t important enough.
(I did not want to put the name of the stylist in the review… although I left disappointed, I would like to think what happened to me isn’t the norm for her)

Ashley is the *best* at awesome colors! I only had some general ideas of what I wanted before I came in and she knew what I wanted better than I did! I started with hip-​length hair. I knew I wanted to cut it short and go for blue. About 18″ of hair went to Locks of Love to start. Over the course of the afternoon, my hair became not just blue, but BLUE! The color has all kinds of depth and complexity without a lot of trouble. I love it!

Tracy was phenomenal. I just moved here from California and was a little worried about finding a stylist up here but there was nothing to fear! I was wanting a pretty drastic cut but she was more than competent at not nervous at all. I will definately be back to Tracy and salon redd!

I have very fine but thick hair and I usually just get a golden blonde highlight weave. The last salon I went to totally messed up my hair, reddish brown lowlights and white highlights. NOT WHAT I WANTED!
After I was done freaking out I immediately searched hair salons in the Salem area. When I found Salon Redd and read all of the reviews I decided to give it a try. When I called to set up an appointment the girl on the phone was very kind and listened to my exact needs! She set me up with a girl who was very experienced in color weaving that could fix my hair the very next day!
When I came into the salon Tea was waiting for me! She was so kind and listened to my needs! She fixed my hair and took the red out in 2 hours! (Which I have long hair so that’s record time!!!) She only charged me $ 55 which is incredible! She also cut my hair perfectly!
I will definitely go back! She is so sweet and so good at hair! I highly recommend her! Just be vocal about what you want and they’ll do it for you!

When I moved from Salem to Portland a few years back, I knew I would have to run the tedious gambit of mediocre salons/​stylists in order to find one that I liked. Tracy at Salon Redd was the end of the search! Tracy salvaged my months-​of-​neglect look into the best style I’ve ever had. She listens to what I want, and I walk out the doors every time looking and feeling like a million dollars. Big-​city quality at a small-​town price. I highly recommend giving this one a try :)

Ashley is AMAZING!!! She did such a great job coloring my hair! It was a disaster when I came in, but she fixed it beautifully! I told her I wanted purple and something to break it up a bit, and she put some pink in my bangs and underneath and two different shades of purple. I could not be happier with the end result. She did a WONDERFUL job and was very nice! The price was also reasonable. I will defiantly be going back to see her! Thank you so much!

This salon is full service with everything in a fun place. They offer waxing, color, cuts and good relaxing experience. I really enjoyed the knowledge and support they all offer each other. I felt totally taken care of with my high needs color correction from my previous stylist. I felt like I was in the best place to tackle such a mess. Ann and Cindy the owners make you confident in all of the independent stylists working within the salon. Having a strong group makes me feel great and I truly enjoyed the experience. I will be going back. My daughter is going to have Amanda cut and color her hair. She is very good and up to date with technique.

I have only been to Salon Redd twice, but Tracy Slayton has been cutting my hair since February 2013. She is absolutely amazing!!! My hair has never looked so stylish and healthy. I get lots of compliments thanks to Tracy and her great skills. She really takes the time to listen to what kind of style you want and really takes the time to get it just right. I recommend anyone who is looking for a great hairstylist to get their hair done by Tracy, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Tracy Slayton is my stylist. She has been doing my hair since May of 2013 and my hair has never been healthier! I have very fine hair that easily breaks and growing it out has been a process. It has been growing in thick and shiny ever since I started seeing her. I feel confident in just letting her do her thing. She takes off just enough so that my hair stays healthy and its been growing out beautifully. She also did my blowout and it was beautiful. She is fun and down to earth. Ask for Tracy at Salon Redd and you wont regret it. I will be going to Ashley there too, for my brow waxing. Love them!

When I decided to cut 6 inches off my hair, I went to Britney Jipp because of how perfect her haircuts are. Of course I was back about a week later to get it even shorter because I loved it so much! Shes awesome and super friendly! :)

Ashley Pagel cuts my hair and she is awesome! I used to dread getting my hair cut, yet that changed when I met Ashley. Now I am excited when it is time to get a cut! I met Ashley at another salon, yet followed her when she moved to Salon Redd. Salon Redd offers a happy, welcoming environment.

Tracy Slayton has been cutting my hair for almost 4 years, and my daughter’s hair for two. She is friendly and fun… and flexible in her scheduling. Most importantly, she is attentive to getting the cut and style just right! I haven’t been to anyone else since finding this gem!

I highly recommend Melissa Poland here at Salon Redd. Melissa has taken care of my hair for over 14 years. She now does all my family; daughter (who is 20-​cuts, color, eyebrows and keratin) both sons (cuts, advice and brows) and even my «i will never go to a hair stylist» husband. Melissa always does a very nice job and knows my hair. She has suggestions, but also accomodates my idiocycrancies. She can do all ages and styles (she did a lovely updo for my daughter for prom one year) and keeps abreast of the latest products and styles. She is very reliable-​i remember her calling me one day to reschedule my appointment-​because she was in active labor! I highly recommend Melissa as a stylist and as a genuinely personable woman. Thank you, Melissa!

Tracy has been doing my hair about 2 years and I’ve always been pleased. I’m going from blonde to auburn and I know it will turn out great. She has always been courteous and professional with a fun twist!!!
I would recommend her to anyone I know. Keep on doing your thing hun!!! :)
