Walery’s was our«go to» pizza spot since we live in West Salem. No more. They changed their cheese to a blend which includes cheddar cheese. Blech! My rules of pizza: has to have sauce and can’t have cheddar cheese. So long Walery’s…

The pizza is really overpriced for its taste. The soda was also flat. About the only thing they had going for them were the good amount of toppings.

We love this establishment, and eat there at least 6 times a month. I am big on the salad bar, there were quite a few options(carrots, cucumbers, the little corn cobs, bacon bits, sunflower seeds, jello salad, macaroni salad, Ect, Ect, Ect, to many to type) to choose from. My husband, who is NOT a huge salad fan, loves the pizza, toppings, & the atmosphere. So… Whether you are there because everyone in your family is starving & you don’t want to cook, you need to get away from life to laugh with friends, or desire a great place to host a meeting/celebration…Wallery’s Pizza, is the place where you should go.

I just devoured half of a pizza. No joke. I should probably feel ashamed, but I don’t. Walery’s pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. I always get the pepperoni pizza. It’s pure perfection. Itty bitty spicy pepperoni pieces cover the top and they are crispy on the edges. I don’t know what kind of cheese they use but it is awesome. You must try this pizza.

Good pizza? Really people? I truly do not understand all the good reviews here. This is hands down the WORST pizza I have ever eaten. AND it’s in a noisy, huge, badly-in-need-of-a-remodel space. Yuck.

This restaurant is pretty good. It looks like a strip mall shack from the outside, but the interior is lovely and inviting. Just don’t face the windows, seriously — blindness! My first trip Sunday with four kids, my husband and my mother-in-law. The pizza was on the spendy side if you are, like me, used to take-n-bake or $ 5 fast-food pizzas, but about on par with the prices at other pizzerias. We got a special 2-topping for about $ 20 that fed all of us and then some. The salad bar, at $ 6.50, was all-you-can-eat, but disappointing in terms of variety. Half the salad bar real estate was taken up by toppings for the hamburgers. I was also disappointed at the otherwise complete lack of gluten-free options. 2016 — celiacs are a thing. Catch up. Surprisingly, staff with whom I inquired wasn’t sure if the salad dressings, even, were gluten-free. I can’t say my daughter enjoyed her bare plate of lettuce and carrot sticks. My forehead may be permanently singed from the death glare I received at «making» her watch us eat pizza. The pizza, which my family minus gluten-free 12-year old devoured, was wonderful. The crust was just the right thickness to have a little crunch on the bottom and some substance to it. The sauce was nice and mild, and the cheese was plentiful. Toppings, too, were generously portioned. I also appreciated that the slices were smaller and fit well in hand. It was great for the smaller kids, but also for us big kids who wanted to pretend we were eating far less than we actually did by having«just one more tiny slice.» Good on ya, Walery’s! Customer service was excellent. There wasn’t a frowning face in the sea of employees, and help was readily available. I wasn’t clear on whether tables were bussed ourselves or if the employees took care of it– there were trash cans and a counter to turn in soiled dishes, but I also saw employees clearing and cleaning tables as soon as they were vacated. Very impressive on the quick table turn-around! This is, like so many pizza places, one of the last places you can take your kids for a good family fun night. There is a room with video games; a mechanized duck and horse for the littles to have a ride; a chicken who clucks and gives prize eggs; and of course stickers and tattoos. Had a great time, would not hesitate to return, but dang– coupons, please?!

Our house has been Walerys fans for many years, but just had our first«you bake» pizzas today. We were all very happy with the crust. Picked up the pizzas last night and baked this afternoon. Took a little while for our oven to reach 475 but we’ll just plan better next time.

Pizza was good. Service was FANTASTIC. What I didn’t like: for 2 people, we bought a large pizza and pitcher of beer. When I asked for ranch I was told $.50 for a small or $ 1 for a large. Then we obviously had leftovers and asked for a box. We were told foil is free but a box is $.50. Not that I couldn’t afford the $ 1.50 for ranch and a box, but it’s annoying to get nickeled and dimed from a place where we bought dinner and drinks.

Ok, while staying with friends here in Salem, we ordered pizza and wings. So let’s start with overall ambience of the restaurant itself. Cute large dining area, and the salad bar looked stocked and clean. Lots of employees looking ready for a new year’s rush for the night. Lots of to go traffic. Busy popular place. The wings. I love hot wings. Usually there fried then tossed in a sauce. But that’s not how they do it. Mind you there mind blowingly good. There lightly coated and obviously deep fried. And that’s it. Juicy tasty just as they are. They provided ranch dressing as dipping sauce and it’s out of this world yummy. Now the pizza. And here is why they got only 4 stars. We ordered a large combo with shrimp and pineapple added. The crust was the perfect combination of crunchy and Chewy. The meats and shrimp were premium which begs the question, why CANNEDMUSHROOMS??? You bothered to put fresh bell peppers, and other fresh veg yet spent a fair dime for premium canned mushrooms. Come on. Overall, just don’t get mushrooms, it’s a good deal.

This is my favorite pizza hands down ever. I lived in Salem area for 10 years, moved away in 2009. Miss my cornmeal thin crunchy crust combination pizza! Hawaiian and taco are super good too. They have funny names for their pies, but I can’t remember them now. Their homemade salad bar ranch is pretty much greatest. The atmosphere is kid-mania, so if you are in an an adult group or date, be prepared for loud screams, some crying, etc. Lots of baseball teams come over to eat after playing at Wallace park too. I grew up in the area around Cornelius in Washington county, where there was a Sunshine pizza(became Primetime later before the building burnt down). I had great memories as a child there, and the whole place was designed just like Walerys– the panel walls, orange booths, huge scale front counter, and game room. I freaked out the first time I went. The smell was the same, the feel of the place, sentimental for me. But I came back many times cause the pizza rivals anywhere!!! I’m kind of a pizzahead, so I’m picky lol. This is the classic jam, like your old Walkman or diecast matchbox cars. Forever cool.

Best pizza ever! I grew up just up the road from Walery’s and have since moved away. But every time I come home I get Walery’s pizza on the first night I get here and another the night before I leave. I don’t know how people could complain about the pizza or say it looks like a cardboard grocery store freezer pizza… couldn’t be further from the truth. Try their ranch, it’s amazing. I used to get pepperoni with mushroom or olive and have moved on to the Hawaiian Canadian bacon with pineapple and dip in ranch. I love their parmesan cheese as well… make sure you put a lot of the cheese on it. The taco pizza is awesome as well. The people that work there are super friendly… usually a lot of young kids in high school or college. Kudos to the staff at Walery’s. I just grabbed another pizza tonight before I hit the road home in the morning… it was amazing as always

Salad bar was poorly stocked. Quality of food is not what I expected based on other peoples reviews. I agree that the convenience of the buffet bar is nice but the food could be so much better. It’s always busy and seems pretty crowded at peak hours I’m still scratching my head.

Overall tasted good, we ordered a large ½pepperoni ½ Canadian bacon for 14.99. Decent price. Thin crust and crunchy just the way we like it. Nice and friendly staff. Perfect for family. It has a small Arcade area and a salad bar. I like how we just find our seats and ordered. It was fast and fresh. The recent why I gave it a four because when I asked for water, the girl got it straight from the sink. Regardless, other than the water part, I’m very please with the food here.

The pizza was light and crispy. There where a lot of great toppings with lots of flavor. We will be back!!! The only thing we did not like was the soda choice(RC Cola) is not our favorite. Service was good at the ordering stations.

Came back to reminisce on old times of the two topping special. The pizza is ok, maybe it was better a few years ago, sure seems familiar. It’s decent but I dropped my 4 stars to 2 because while the pizza is meh-ok, it seems like it’s been sitting around or the ingredients are just not that great. Not to mention the special has gone up a few bucks since. Olives were primarily in the center of the pizza and the soda fountain situation is like something out of the 80’s but no longer in a good way. Soda was bland RC Cola and now you have to pay for refills and purchase at the drink counter, a little behind the times aren’t we? And the atmosphere is nuts, like a kids playground. You lost me Wal.. ..

Worst pizza we have EVER had. We paid 30 bucks for one pizza and two salad plates… Absolutely ridiculous. The salad bar is mediocre, at best. The best part of the salad bar was the pasta salad that you know came from some other store. The lettuce was old and wilted and there were only about 7 veggies/sides to choose from. Now the pizza… Where to begin. We ordered half taco and half cheese and mushroom. When we sat down to eat, the pizza wasn’t even HOT! It was warm to the touch, but the cheese on top of the taco side wasn’t even melted. You could see the little grated individual pieces of cheese. And the mushrooms on the cheese half were from a freaking CAN. They were brown and slimy, and also cold. Completely gross. And unacceptable that a restaurant with so much service can’t even use fresh ingredients. We will never go back. I highly advise you to go to Safeway and pick up your own frozen pizza or go to Papa Murphy’s where you can see them make the pizza in front of your eyes.

First time here and ordered a 2 topping Large pizza. It was very good pizza! Probably some of the best I had in a long time. Walking in, it’s a little confusing if you should get seated, seat yourself, or order first but the young staff was nice enough. I get why the Pizza is a bit spendy, but really? $ 6.50 for salad bar? Why not offer a one time for half the price or something? They also charge 50 cents extra for carry out/or a box. Isn’t this Oregon? Why are you giving free foam boxes but charging for cardboard? Anyways, I’d go back for the food and decent staff even if some of the rules are weird

Came here(from Portland) for a baby shower. I ordered a small veggie pizza with pepperoni and asked that it be cooked for an extra few minutes– I really don’t like when the dough isn’t cooked through. Well, after approx. 45 minutes, I hear, «number 139 to the front counter.» The girl at the counter said my pizza was forgotten in the oven and burned. She said they were making a new one, which would be done in about 8 minutes. No apology, no indication that they even cared that I was waiting for a pizza LONG after the others in the group(who ordered after me) had received and nearly finished their pizzas. I went to the counter to ask about my pizza and was snapped at by a man whom I believe is the owner. When I inquired about an ETA, he says, «Well, who are you? I don’t even know what you want.» I gave him my order # and he said, «Well it’s cooking. Pizzas take time.» I chose not to engage with him any further, as he clearly didn’t care anyway. Finally, after another 15 – 20 minutes, I got my pizza. Unfortunately, it was undercooked. The outside of the crust was crisp, but the dough was raw inside. I didn’t have the time or energy to complain and it’s obvious that they wouldn’t have cared. The pizza has potential. Unfortunately, their garbage attitudes combined with their obvious lack of interest in producing a quality product, made it impossible for me to have any desire to give them another shot if I’m in the area.
