Zipline ecotour … Canyon Aerial Course … and Via Ferrata Courses… Captain Zipline is now an Aerial Adventure Park! Come and play in our «jungle gym» in the canyon – a challenge course with elements such as swinging bridges, tightropes, cargo nets, a trapeze, etc. The tour has over 100 elements with courses that are rated like those of the ski resorts – from entry level to black diamond! There are also THREE Via Ferrata courses allowing our guests to mountain climb while tethered to a belay system. Our zipline tour is still going strong as well. This eco tour highlights many points of interest including a thousand-year-old pack rat nest nestled in petrified travertine formations and miniature piñón pine «bonsai» tree growing out of solid rock. Fly up to 40mph over silver mines, lime kiln ruins and 300 million-year-old colorful cliff formations.
History
Established in 2005.
Research and Development for this tour began in the rain forests of Costa Rica in the 1980s. From there, it was a matter of finding that perfect piece of property that would not only be suitable for a thrilling adventure, but also provided many points of historical and ecological interest along with some human interest stories. The tour was built by a professional builder with 40 yrs. experience and was built to strict industrial standards. Thereafter, the accolades came from regional and national media sources. From our beginnings as a pioneer in the business, we aim to provide a memorable experience for our guests, one that gives thrills, chills, and an appreciation for the amazing beauty and unique history of the area.
Meet the Business Owner
Monty H.
Business Owner
Owner-Operator Monty Holmes’ sense of adventure blossomed in 1969 when he worked for a university tagging green sea turtles while living on a Caribbean Island for a few months. In 1971, he took a hiatus from college to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand. There, he ventured into the Outback, worked on a shrimp trawler that took him the full length of the Barrier Reef, and then headed to New Guinea for more adventures. In New Guinea, Holmes interfaced with «Stone Age» native tribes, trading salt and tobacco for museum-quality artifacts during his visit. Next, he traveled from Tazmania to Tahiti for more amazing experiences. His other journeys include a photojournalistic trip through Central and South America. When he took up permanent residence, it was in the Rocky Mtns of Colorado. Here, he learned the building business while still finding time for hunting, gardening, rock hounding, web site development and publishing. His building skills have been honed over 4 decades.
