Beck’s Shoe Store

The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I was just a walk-​in for a minor repair. Service was prompt and courteous. Took less than five minutes to re-​stitch my work boot, and he only charged me five bucks. It was only a small fix, but that was still a nice surprise.

Took my boots in to be repaired. Did a great job repairing my set of Danner boots for a good price. They even polished them up for me. Looks and feels like I’ve got a brand new pair of boots!

I needed to find some quality made, steel-​toe work boots for my man. I’d purchased much more affordable shoes from other stores around town, but the workmanship and/​or materials used in said shoes never seemed to last for more than a month or two before they began to «die.» So, after purchasing his fourth pair for him from a well know big box store, and watching those shoes meet the same fate as the others, I knew it was time for a change.
I met David at Beck’s and told him of the issues my man had been experiencing with his current, and past work shoes. He asked a few basic questions like where my man works and the nature of his job, and what features he’d like in a work boot. Now, I can tell you many things about my man & what his preferences are; but David was asking me questions that I simply couldn’t answer. The solution? Bring my man to Beck’s!
So my man stopped by after work and David, having already gotten a portion of the story from me, picked up with my man where he had left off with me. In less than 10 minutes David had found my man’s perfect dream work boot, complete with moldable inserts. The look on my man’s face was priceless. He can’t wait to get to work tomorrow so that he can wear them.

I bought some red wing shoes here. These are, hands down, the best shoes I’ve ever worn. So comfortable! The store is great, the employees are helpful but not pushy. Also, nice location

The owner is very professional and excellent at fixing your shoe problems. He always has a smile on his face and has done a great job as thrid generation Beck. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly.

Beek’s Shoes Salinas saved my job. I had to have safety toe shoes by sept 4^th. No big deal right? i had 3 weeks. My problem is 6E feet. I usually mail order from back east the one company that carries these shoes but they arrived too small to use. I can squese into a redwing ”H” so i went looking. 2 red wing stores told me they had what i needed Santa cruz and san Jose. Only to find out they flat out did not even stock ”H”.
holly crap, do you think my foot size will change on the way in? I called Becks Salinas the Friday night before i needed the shoes Monday. David said they had 3 styles, ok I’ll be there Saturday at opening. My last chance, id plan on spending the whole weekend to find the shoes i needed. When i got there, the shoes were waiting for me, set aside with my name on them, i picked the one i liked best, and was out the door in 15 minutes with a whole weekend free.

PS. now 6 months later, the boots have about 2 months of work and really going down fast. never see leather so thin, im talking less than a 1/​16″ over the toe.
I will ware then into the ground and try someone else.

when my belts, shoe laces, amd shoes from mervyn’s fell apart, i finally took the plunge and spent real money on great shoes and belts at beck’s.
my red wing shoes, and my (now old) belts have held up very well, and the red wings are the most comfortable shoes i’ve ever owned.
the qualify of the personnel and products is very high, and i enjoyed the personal expert attention.
