We are Authorized Dealers for Singer and Elna sewing machines. We Repair Singer, Brother, Viking, Pfaff, Elna, Bernina Janome, Kenmore and any other brand of household sewing machine, overlock or serger.

Industrial Sewing Machines. We repair, sell and carry parts for all brands.

Home Decorating. We design, create and install Custom Window Coverings. We have over 50.000 Fabric Samples to choose from and our Decorators will help you.

Reupholstery. We reupholster furniture and it should be back in your home within a week. Custom Bedding, Table toppers. Custom Window Coverings are all made in our store in Salinas.

History

Established in 1979.

This store was opened in1979 but sewing machine repairs were being done by John as early as 1969. John was trained, initially, by his father-​in-​law George Thompson who had been a sewing machine mechanic for more than 50 years at that time. The store’s original name was Thompson and Free Sewing Center. In 1990, Victoria, a Decorator/​Designer joined us and we began adding fabrics and custom decorating to our business. About that time, we changed our name to More Than Sewing to better represent what we do here
