I am changing this review in light of Dr. Siva’s departure from the office where he formerly worked, and setting up his own staff in another Monterey Location. Most of my concerns about my experience dealt with his staff, and not the care that was rendered. I returned to Dr. Silva for a check up of the work done, and found a very professional staff that was both friendly and competent. Dr. Silva clearly answered my questions regarding my oral surgery status, relying on his examination and full mouth scan.

Go at your own risk. His primary objective is to get as much money from you as possible and he will exaggerate his diagnosis in an attempt to fool you

From the efficient friendly receptionists to the smiling goodbye from each of the team members at the post operative appointment, getting your wisdom teeth out at Dr. Silva’s could not have been better. He explained the procedure thoroughly to all of us after we watched a short video – he made it a lot less scary.
The morning of the procedure there was anxiety but the professional and caring assistants made it easier to deal with.
With the help of meds, chocolate pudding, Jamba Juice and applesauce made it through with flying colors. Only slight Chipmunk look the third day!

I too want to start my review by saying I believe Dr. Perry Silva is a good oral surgeon. However, I was very unhappy with some of his demeanor, the behavior of his staff, and his «unwillingness» to return phone calls! After removing a wisdom tooth, and dealing with long term complications, he ultimately «Threw» me out of his practice– a fact that I find disturbing on many levels. I also believe that his assistant a few years ago made my «Drysocket» problem worse by telling me on the phone that I «did not have it». When I asked to talk to the doctor I was denied access. No return calls over two weeks! and then (yes I went back)… the big boot after another procedure cutting into my gum and removing «popcorn» like bone growths that were protruding through the gums in five places. This was not most likely his fault, and he did fix it ultimately… but he was rather impatient with me.
No excuse for his no response to calls. His office staff in my opinion «oversteps» their place as «assistants» at least the one that dealt with me did. His bad attitude towards the patients emotional «distress and concerns» and the big boot for no reasonable explanation provoked me into writing this review.

I am very grateful to Dr. Silva to have taken great care of me while my family was on vacation in Monterey after my wisdome teeth were removed. The dry socket I developed put me in a lot of pain, and after my visit I was completely pain free and able to enjoy the time with my family!
