Mike and Paula’s Eatery

Great little «greasy spoon» diner (and I mean that in the best way possible)! Tasty breakfast and very friendly staff. We got our 2 year old a pancake and when it came out they had made it in the shape of Mickey Mouse. We are here visting friends so this will likely be our only vidit here, but we would surely come back if we lived here!

The good news: Nice people, good food, fair prices. Not fancy, not overly flavorful, not especially clean, not the fastest service. I wouldn’t make a special trip to come here, but if you are nearby you will leave with a full tummy and a smile.

We stumbled upon this gem on our way home from Virginia to Georgia. We had four of us and we had the rib plate (a fantastic deal for the price), country fried steak, chicken fingers, and the vegetable plate. Everything was very tasty home style food. We were even blessed with Karaōke and some free fried pickles. They also give you free fresh hot chocolate chip cookies when done.
Everyone was so friendly. This is how small towns in the South are supposed to be. This may be another traditional stop on our way up and down I-​85. Give it a try.

Great Burgers!
We had to wait a few minutes for the burgers but it was totally worth it. We stumbled upon this quaint eatery after we discovered the restaurant we were headed for had closed. It was a very happy accident. I ordered the cheeseburger all the way no onions (my usual) and it was perfection. The chili was a touch on the sweet side and perfect for the tangy slaw. The hamburger patty was huge and the meat was quality. I am extremely full, but would gladly eat another. The tea is great, the servers are nice, and the burgers should not be missed.

I was inspired to write a review because the restaurants in Salisbury deserve more credit. We were here for work for about a week and my coworkers and I have eaten at a couple of places here and have had exceptional food and service but the restaurants don’t get many reviews, probably because it’s a small town but here I am, writing a review for Mike and Paula’s.
The service here is amazing. Everyone was really nice and friendly and always checked up on us every once in a while and the food came out quick. The menu is simple and standard but has a southern touch. I got the country fried steak with a side of potato salad and fried okra. SOO GOOD!!! And also the perfect size considering it was only a lunch and didn’t want to feel too guilty about eating fried food. My coworker ordered their special of the day of potato soup and grilled cheese and he loved it.
It’s a small-​ish place but every table was filled during lunch.
Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. The menu is huge, and everything we tried was delicious. Service was very friendly, and the owner came over to check on us. VERY reasonable prices, and I highly recommend!

What a great addition to downtown Salisbury. Breakfast anytime, good sandwiches, the only restaurant downtown where you can get a meat and vegetables, good service, good staff, good prices… How can you ask for anything more!

I have never actually eaten in the restaurant, but I have ordered food to pick up. The burger was good but the battered fries were AMAZING! I highly suggest them on your next visit. The young woman who was at the front desk was very pleasant and nice. I hope to actually eat in the place very soon!

They serve a healthy portion of food on every order. You can’t beat the breakfast special anywhere. The prices are very reasonable and the food has a good flavor. This is a fairly new restaurant and I hope they make it!

I went there for a late breakfast and it was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Everyone is very friendly & accommodating, but naturally it seemed like they were still getting the hang of things. The menu is broad but traditional american/​southern/​diner with nothing fancy. The food was good but the staff was better.
