I got the Turkey Avocado on sourdough and it was excellent, I feel its a good price for what you get, for like 8 bucks I got a good sized sandwich, small bag of chips and a very tiny salad, but Im really only reviewing the sandwich, the avocado and sprouts both tasted fresh, I will be back for sure, really enjoyed it, like it more than Robins nest down the street, plus the sandwich is alot bigger for nearly the same price.

Paninis — awesome (especially Pesto Chicken and The Cuban)! Veggie sandwich — awesome! Big ass chocolate chip cookie and scones– awesome! Service — consistently good. It gets crowded during the lunch time, so please be patient.

If you’re looking for a a reliable, quick, affordable, decently sized and priced salad, this is your place. My office orders from here a lot and I have sampled many salads. It’s not going to blow your mind but you can expect a good meal.

We tried this place today. We ordered two combos to go. I had the Granny Apple Turkey with Tomato Basil Soup combo. He had the Ham and Havarti with Broccoli Cheddar combo. The soups were both watery and overly salty. The Granny Apple Turkey is advertised as coming with a «side of» Apple Cider Vinaigrette, which was put directly onto the sandwich, resulting in some soggy bread. The half Ham and Havarti was served on half of the tiniest pretzel roll. It was about half the size of the other half sandwich and the pretzel roll seemed to be something that could just as easily be bough at the local Whole Foods. To top off this mediocre meal, although the combos are advertised as coming with a cookie, we were not given any cookies. The location isn’t very convenient unless you happen to be on foot and in the area. We likely won’t be back.

Our office orders from here occasionally. Nice lunch combo with sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Great, thick bread on the sandwich. Very soft and fresh.

Excellent service delish breakfast sandwich inexpensive great portions! I recommend stoping for breakfast and lunch beautiful place inside the Wells Fargo center!

Used to be good… then the prices went up and the food quality went way down. I recently purchased a rice krispy square only to break my teeth taking the first bite. It must have been a week old to get that hard. The sandwiches are good when I am in the mood to put down 10 bucks. I also agree with other comments here– one person at the register– and a whole crew goofing around in the back.

It’s breakfast is of average quality, I’d not come back unless i have no other choices around.

I loved paying 11 $ for a large soup and half salad. Another disappointing lunch and not surprised. Watery soup. Salad that looks like it’s been sitting pre made for days. One person working up front while the entire team in the back laughing goofing off making my less than par lunch. Seriously! I only ate here because I was starving and didn’t have time to go anywhere else. Shame on me again! This place I’m surprised is even still in business.

This is pretty much my default place to go for lunch if I’m pressed for time and going out on lunch break early or late (don’t come exactly at lunch unless you have at least an hour to kill).
I believe I’ve now tried at least 1 of every combo soup/​sandwich imaginable (some to stay, most to go) and they’re pretty good. For the price ($ 8 — $ 11), you get half a sandwich and half a soup — plus a free cookie! Mmm, cookie. The best soups to get are their tomato or chicken noodle — depending on what you like. Make sure to drink it while it’s hot! This goes especially for those who are getting soup because of the weather outside. Trust me — I’m an Elite.
As for sandwiches, you can’t really go wrong with any of their hot sandwiches/panini’s. Oh kayyy. that’s all I got to say about that.

My daughter and I stumbled upon this place completely by accident while walking past the Wells Fargo Building. I saw the sign and we decided to check it out.
It’s a pleasant little café on the second floor that gives off the feel of one of those little coffee shops I used to enjoy before the hipsters ruined them for everyone. It just feels like a quaint little café, not too small and not too overwhelming.
I’ve been back three times and have enjoyed the food every time. My favorite dish, however, has to be the Strawberry Grilled Chicken Salad. And the little piece of bread that comes with it is heavenly. The size portion is well worth the money too. It’s double the size of a salad you’d pay the same price for elsewhere.
My daughter and I like to sit outside the café which overlooks Gallivan Plaza. It’s a beautiful view if you like looking at the city and it has a nice peacefulness to it.

I love this place. Good variety, yummy dessert options. My favorites are the buffalo Mac & cheese and the pear gargonzola salad!

A solid lunch spot: lots of reasonably priced salad and sandwich options, surprisingly tasty too. Apple Spice Café and Bakery is located on the second level in the Wells Fargo Tower. It is a cute little place that reminds you of Panera or Paradise Bakery. I think they have a more interesting menu, though. They also give you a free cookie with your lunch.
I tried the triple berry salad and a cup of tomato basil soup. Both were very good. I really loved the poppy seed dressing that came (on the side) with the salad. I don’t usually care for poppy seed anything but this dressing was great. The portions are very generous. My half salad was the equivalent of a full salad at a lot of other restaurants. They aren’t stingy with the bread. Both my salad and soup came with bread. I didn’t want, or need, all those carbs so I skipped it. I hate to be wasteful so it would be nice, and cost effective, if they’d ask if you’d like bread with your meal.

Not bad. Food is good, service is fast. It doesn’t really stand out from the other places just like it. Except for some of their own touches to a meal there is not much to separate them from places like Café Zupa or Paradise bakery. Still, it is not a bad place for a quick meal.

I think it took a while for anyone to realize that there was a café on the second floor of the Wells Fargo Building. At first I was excited to try a new lunch spot so close to my office, but that was short-​lived. I’ve been here three times now and have never been too impressed. Everything is pretty standard and nothing too exciting. The typical turkey avocado sandwhiches, apple walnut gorganzola salads, etc etc. For close to $ 10, I’ll need something a little more exciting than that. Sorry Apple Spice, I won’t be back.

Everything at Apple Spice, a sandwich, pastry, breakfast place in the Wells Fargo building, seems meticulously planned. From the shade of blue on the manager’s shirt to the height of the wainscoting on the walls to the descriptions of the sandwiches on the menu, it feels like it’s all been scouted, focused-​grouped, tested and retested to ensure that nothing is offensive and everything is appealing. As a result, you get a place that every person in the Wells Fargo building would be willing to take a client to for lunch (well, a client that maybe they don’t know very well, and that they don’t want to spend a whole lot of money on), and leaves no room for complaint.
But that same focus-​grouped, don’t-offend-anyone focus results in tasty, but unadventurous food totally lacking in character. Everything on the menu is instantly recognizable for someone with a midwestern or Utah palette (though I don’t recall any Jello or funeral potatoes). I can’t say I disliked my «Buffalo chicken mac & cheese,» with it’s slightly overdone bowtie pasta enveloped in gooey stringy cheese stained light pink, tinged with vinegar from the «buffalo» sauce, and topped with a heaping spoonful of bleu cheese. But I can’t say I liked it either. And even though it’s «buffalo,» it took a tablespoon of Tabasco to bring any heat to the dish. My lunch companions similarly had no complaints, but I didn’t hear them saying «ooh» and «aaah» either.
You do get a cookie with lunch combos, everyone is friendly, and they have the awesome touch screen soda machine to give you hundreds of flavor options. The indoor décor is nice (in the safest way possible) and they do have a large second floor patio with a view of Gallivan Plaza, which is very pleasant when the weather is nice. I can imagine how this place will appeal to the people in the building, and many others downtown. Because it’s hard to object to, I suppose I’ll be back. But only if my focus group says it’s OK.

I normally have a tendency to avoid places until after they’ve worked out kinks to service, but I made an exception for Apple Spice considering it came highly recommended and is a short distance from work.
The beautiful thing about downtown is that no matter how many deli/​sandwich places you have, there just never seems to be enough. All of them are super busy between 12 and 1, and you cannot avoid a line. So yes, it seems like we have a ton, but I still welcome more. So what makes Apple Spice stand out in the crowd?
Well, for one thing, their service. Immediately you’re greeted by someone, almost flagged down by one of the cashiers, and while you’re eating you’re asked how you like the food and then you get your drink refilled. It may seem like a bit much, but I appreciate when a business tries to make a good first impression and is open to feedback early on in the game.
Number two, their cookies. Now, normally I get my lunch time sweets fix from Judge Café, but I think i can make an exception for the cookies here. I just had a simple chocolate chip cookie from here, and it was fantastic.
As far as the food goes, it seems like they have a pretty expansive menu with some fun twists on sandwiches and salads. The sandwich I had was pretty standard, a turkey with cran-​peno jelly, but it was made really well. There is also a breakfast menu and a more «dine-​in» menu, but I have yet to venture too much into there.
Because it’s so close, I probably will be a regular here soon.

I often meet my husband downtown for lunch and we were stuck in a Toasters/​City Creek down spiral there for a while. Thanks to the lovely Unilocal app, I discovered a new tasty lunch spot! I never thought such an adorable bistro style café would be hanging out on the 2^nd floor of the Wells Fargo building.
The portions are pretty damn big. The side soup still comes with a plate full of chips. And the combo’s come with a cookie! They have sammies, salads, soups and desserts. This is what Corner Bakery and Kneaders are trying to be yet failingat. Even during the lunch rush we were served quite speedily.
Discover this place and you won’t regret it!

Apple Spice is a new café on the 2^nd floor of the Wells Fargo Building, located in the former space of the Fresh Air Café. Between Robin’s Nest, Judge, Jimmy Johns, Lenny’s Sub Shop, Toasters, Boston Deli, and a bunch more I can’t think of right now, this place fits right in with the competitive «soup and sandwich for lunch» restaurants.
The space is open and bright, with large windows that let a bunch of light in. I can’t wait for the summer, when they’re able to open their huge outdoor patio. If you’re wondering what kind of food they offer, I would say it’s very similar to Kneaders. Coffee, tea, pastries, bread, sandwiches, salads, and soups abound.
Prices are right in line with other similar lunch spots. I had the half salad, half sandwich combo, which was accompanied with a chocolate chip cookie. The price was right around $ 8.50, without a drink.
It appears they pre-​make their salad bowls, and store them in the fridge, then top with the desired toppings when ordered. Not a bad idea, and very efficient, except for the fact that the lettuce at the bottom of my bowl was frozen and translucent. The flavors of my Southwestern Chicken salad, however, were top-​notch. The dressing was their very own BBQ Ranch dressing, which was very tasty.
I had the half turkey sandwich. I wouldn’t say it was remarkable – it’s a turkey sandwich for crying out loud. But the bread was sliced thick, and the turkey was plentiful, so that’s a win in my book.
Service is very friendly. Employees passed by frequently to pick up empty plates and ask if we needed anything.
This is a new spot, and they’re still working out some kinks, but I imagine that before too long they’ll be running at full speed and knocking it out of the park. I know I’ll be a regular.
