Believing strongly in DIY ethics of punk, Wes made his goal of helping bands and songwriters materialize their dreams a reality by recording Cult Leader, Fox Van Cleef, Sleeping Weather, Vincent Draper, and many other local and regional bands.

Archive Recordings was established in 2007 by Wes Johnson. Founded on a love for music, Archive immediately became a safe haven for expression for many underground artists. Believing strongly in DIY ethics of punk, Wes made his goal of helping bands and songwriters materialize their dreams a reality by recording Fox Van Cleef, Lionelle, and The Alliance at the first location of Archive in downtown Salt Lake City.

Business Owner
Wes Johnson started Archive in 2007 with the vision to help independent band have a great, fun, and affordable experience recording. Wes has years of experience, including a internship at Praire Sun Recordings in Cotati California assisting the amazing Oz Fritz (iggy pop, Ramones, Tom Waits) and Wes has also worked with Michale Wagner attending one of his world renowned recording workshops.
