DONOTUSEGIANTCARPETONE on 951 East 2100 South * Salt Lake City, UT84106. My husband and I went into there on a Wednesday and scheduled a carpet install for ONE room for Saturday(we were moving out of the apartment on Sunday) and the salesman called a guy from another store and booked him to come do it that day. Saturday came and went, no one showed up, no one called us. We called the store and no one had any record of it being on the books. They said they would look into it and get back to us, nothing! We had to call several more times to get an answer. Sunday and Monday came and went and still nothing was happening. At this point we were moved out and now had to figure out a time with the landlord to make a day to have them come in and install the carpet. We eventually found out that the guy who was suppose to come on Saturday just bailed and did a no show. At this point we were asking for a refund or not to pay the installation fee since it was their fault and total inconvenience for us and the landlord, but they wouldn’t give anything to us. The salesman was really nice about everything, trying to help us as much as he could, was giving up his commission to help us get some of our money refunded. When someone finally came and replaced the carpet, they didn’t even take the old carpet. They left it outside in the rain. It was part of the installation fee to have them take away the old carpet. So again, we had to call a few times to get someone from the company to send someone back out to take the carpet away. Well of course, they couldn’t get anyone to come out that day, so the next day someone had to come get it. The installation fee was around $ 100 and after all of that, they only took off about $ 34, leaving us to still pay for more than half of the fee. Unacceptable! DONOTUSETHISCOMPANY!

It was time for new carpet. We started looking around at the big box stores and furniture stores, but we simply weren’t all that comfortable with those options. They people simply didn’t seem all that knowledgeable. We went to Giant Carpet one during the Labor Day weekend and fell in love with a certain carpet, but we wanted it in a different color. The salesperson knew her stuff and showed us several other options, both cheaper and more expensive than the one we fell in love with when we first walked in the door, but we kind of knew what we wanted at that point. Later that week she came and measured and ordered the carpet. We didn’t realize that they’d have to custom make the carpet since they didn’t have the color we wanted in the style we liked. Still, they were able to hurry the process and get it installed the day we had agreed on. All except one step. Yeah, she underestimated by a single step. It was pretty amazing. So we had to wait for a bit more carpet to come in so they could do that step. My only complaints are instead of hauling away the old carpet the installers threw it all away in our condo dumpster and they randomly showed up one morning to install that last little bit of carpet on a day I was home sick. There wasn’t a call ahead to make sure anyone was home. I was okay with it, but it was a bit inconvenient. I also noticed after they were done they threw more stuff from the back of their truck into our community dumpster. That just didn’t seem cool to me. Still, our new carpet is awesome and when it’s time to do the kitchen floor they’ll be at the top of our list.

We ordered our carpet from Spencer on 7⁄5 and scheduled a Saturday installation date on 7⁄27. We hadn’t received a confirmation from them on Friday so we called to make sure it was still scheduled. The person on the phone said they had us on the schedule between 10:00 am — 12:00. When 12:00 arrives, no one is here. We call the store and Spencer said he needs to call the installers. When he calls me, he tells us that they thought it was next weekend and they won’t be showing up today. We had moved all of our furniture out onto the porch and everything was disconnected. My boyfriend originally wanted to wait another week, despite his anger but I was not going to be inconvenienced for a week. I called them back and was clearly upset at their lack of communication and essentially lying. I rescheduled the installation for Monday afternoon. I left work early to meet them at the house, all day thinking that they weren’t going to show. Luckily, they did show on time and completed the installation in 4 hours. The ONLY reason I gave them two stars instead of one for what happened is because we love the carpet and they did eventually show up. I would just exercise caution with the installation schedule if you purchase from them, they seem to be lacking in that area.
