Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for childbirth. Even as a child, I wanted to help women birth their children, I just wasn’t sure how. When I came across doula work, I knew it was the perfect way to honor the miracle of childbirth and the breathtaking power of women during childbirth. It’s incredible to me how magnificent the birth of a child can be when the mother knows her options and is able to make informed decisions that are best for both her newborn and herself. Being a doula allows me to provide information to women about their options during their birth to help them make those intensely personal and powerful decisions. That is one of the many reasons I love this work so much and it is so important to me. Every birth is a magical, unique experience and should be treated as such, without my sentiments interfering with the mother’s ideal birth.
