I won’t go anywhere else. Ali is the best. The scalp massages are amazing. I always fell my best walking out the door, and have gotten so many compliments on my color.

if you ever need to cancel they will charge you for the full service, not a cancellation fee, full service. Also you need to put a credit card on file with them so they can bill you if you cancel.
(Mind you they have literally cancelled on me because employee’s quit and suddenly they cant see me with less than 24 hours notice)

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD ON FILE WITH THEM! THEY TAKE IT AUTOMATICALLY! This salon encouraged me to «pre-​book» my next appointment, and by doing so, I would receive a discounted percentage off of the services that I received that day — in addition, I was told that the appointment for the future date could be «changed at anytime». I told them I was unsure of my future plans and I would prefer not to pre-​book. They pushed the discount and the supposed «loose cancellation policy» on me, and I made the mistake of booking. You can imagine how frustrated I was to find that when I called to cancel the appointment 36 hours before (and not within their «48 hour cancellation» window) I was informed that I either needed to «make the appointment work» or «send someone in my place to take the appointment», but that EITHER WAY, I would be CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT of the appointment — totaling $ 210.00! $ 210.00 FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED! I asked for the owner to call me and they NEVER called! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS SALON CONDUCTS BUSINESS! VERY DISHONEST! BEWARE OF LEAVING YOUR CARD ON FILE WITH THIS SALON! I will NEVER go back and will discourage others from going — !

I have been coming to Lunatic for years and even though my preferred stylist has changed many times, the quality has always blown my mind. Every hair stylist goes through a rigorous training process and can do everything.
Their scalp massages are divine and they truly are full-​service. They will never try to push product on you but they will suggest things you might like.
Yes, they do extreme cuts and colors there but I have never had a more perfect natural color than from their stylists.

I love getting my hair done here. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. They offer snacks and drinks while you are getting your hair done which is nice. I see Ali and I have never been so happy with my hair. She is always super knowledgable and knows what she is talking about when recommending products that will help your hair. Kerastase has been a life saver for my bleached hair.

Cassie and the whole crew are awesome! I love love love that I never have to wait. Everyone is friendly and helpful. And I love that they bring me my favorite fruit snacks. I always walk out looking fabulous!

YAY I FOUND A SALON I LOVE! I went to Jeremy Mcdougle for a pixie cut. He gave me exactly what I asked for, lots of texture so I can wear it both punky and sleek.
Everyone was extremely friendly and I didn’t feel the tense awkwardness like I do in most salons.

Leanna is so awesome! She did a terrific job! I am having my daughters hair cut as we speak and I’m so glad I took her here. Leanna is so sweet and such a good stylist! I’m coming back again!

I came to Lunatic Fringe based on a friends recommendation (and I heard you get an amazing head massage during the hair wash). I’ve got mid-​length, naturally, curly hair and am very picky about stylists as I’ve had pretty bad experiences in the past.
This was my first visit & it is truly first class! From the friendly faces at the front desk to the ambiance to my stylist to the fairness of price — I was very pleased!
My stylist, Jeremy was very personable & an extraordinary artist! He did an exceptional job cutting my hair the way I needed it & even styled it super cute!
Because of my bad experiences in the past, I’m willing to pay for a good stylist. Lunatic seems VERY fairly priced for the service & experience!
I’ll definitely be back and will pass on the favor to my next friend looking for a place to get their hair done!

I’ve had long hair all my life. The shortest I’ve ever had was at my collar bone when I was a teenager, and the longest was nearly to my butt at one point.
I had my first child in October of last year, and found myself feeling bummed out about taking my long hair and putting it up in a bun or braid every day to avoid it being pulled and slobbered on. So, making the decision to cut it short was a big deal for me.
I scoured review after review for salons and finally settled on Lunatic Fringe, and after reading praises about Jake, I decided to take the plunge. I called on a Tuesday and he luckily had a cancellation, and had availability for the next day. Which ended up being a good thing because I might have chickened out otherwise.
I went in the next day and the front desk girls were super sweet and got me a water while I waited. Jake greeted me and took me to the chair to discuss our plan. I explained I was a new mom and that I needed something super simple and easy to take care of, because I didn’t have the time like I used to. He told me no worries he would make it look sexy and have it be simple to style.
He sectioned it off into 4 long pieces and I told him I was planning to donate my hair, and he said it was no problem. We made the initial big cuts and bagged them up, then he went to work! I got a quick shampoo and condition in «the nap room», (it was super dark and serene in there!) and he took a lot of time to layer and cut my hair like a surgeon. He was super sweet and asked me about my baby and our conversation was never awkward or forced which I like in a stylists personality.
In the end I cut off 14 inches of hair and I felt a literal and figurative weight off my shoulders. The cut was fantastic, and he kept it low key so I could just shower and go about my day with my hair looking fabulous, or I could style it if I had the time.
It ended up being $ 120 for the session, but, Jake knew it was a huge step for me and could totally sense my anxiety. He held my hand and walked me through it so I left with confidence. He gave me a hug at the end, and was such a sweetheart! I can’t wait to go back and see him!

Stopped for a quick men’s cut while in town on business. A trendy fun salon. They serve you a cocktail prior to your appointment– enough said! A little pricey at $ 35 for a men’s cut with a junior stylist– but the atmosphere backs up the price

Got a cut from Ty the other day and he was great! The appointment took a little longer than I expected but he was very thorough and took care to make sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everyone else was also very nice and the service was great! I made a color appointment for next time, definitely will go back.

Cindy Broc is fabulous. She listens and communicates. The view is great (mountains), design is upscale industrial, parking is not a nightmare, and I was able to be seen on a busy Saturday night the first time I came by. They also carry Bumble and Bumble. Love this place. (Prices are steep but customer service is good and I always walk away with quality hair styling).

I love this salon. It is definitely over-​priced. However, it is an experience and they do such a nice job making it feel like one. From the fabulous drink selection, to the snacks brought around by employees, it’s lovely. The salon itselt is modern and stylish on the second floor creating some great views. Everyone has always been so friendly andnot to mention just getting your hair washed is a pampering moment! Prepare for a head and neck massage… amazing!
I only get my hair done about 3 – 4 times per year so I feel ok about splurging. If you want a good hair cut and /​or color, go here!

It is all about the individual stylist you get. I am now with Jeremy, and couldn’t be happier with his styling. They have really been able to maintain a higher level of quality.

I had a stylist who did all of my cuts and colors for 11 years — but when she gave me a fashion forward haircut that actually made me look like I had flown back in time to when I was five and cut my own bangs, I knew it was time to move on. Shae at Lunatic Fringe saved my hair! She fixed my bangs (which is miraculous considering how little she had to work with) and I got tons of compliments. She wields a pair of scissors like an artist!
Last month, I took advantage of their special on hair coloring. I have found my new colorist! McCall did an amazing job! I gave her specific instructions that told her absolutely nothing (I’m good at that), but my hair came out beautifully.
Though I am sure both Shae and McCall could do cuts AND colors equally well, it just turned out that I have one doing cuts and the other doing colors. Call me high maintenance, but at the end of the day, my hair looks fabulous.

The atmosphere is nice, modern décor, friendly staff and laid back (but still professional and customer focused). Everyone seems to know what they are doing and seem passionate about their profession!

Since moving to LA I’ve had trouble finding a stylist and salon that I liked as much as Lunatic Fringe. They have excellent customer service and a great salon experience, including a neck and head massage during your wash!
I went to Nichole at this location for several years and I can’t recommend her enough. Every time I go back to SLC I try to sneak in a cut, and if I could afford it, I would go back every month for my cut! Nichole recently did my hair for my wedding and it was beautiful. I’m growing my hair out from a very short cut but she still managed to give my hair fingerwaves. If you haven’t tried Lunatic Fringe I highly recommend it.
