Had the gyro platter. FRESH. Meat was seasoned well and the softest pita bread I’ve ever eaten. What pushed me to leave 5 stars is the service. Very friendly, accommodating. Can see this becoming a regular neighborhood spot where they learn your name and predict your order before you place.

Best gyros and lemon rice in town! Yummy strawberry shakes. Great customer service. It looks like a total dive, but don’t forget, looks can be deceiving!

Maaaan, this place looks like a dump in the outside. But momma taught me not to judge a book by its cover. This food should be illegal its that good. I took one bite out of the pork gyro and wept tears of joy. That gyro was the turning point of my life. I’ll never experience that first amazing bite again, but I’ll keep chasing that gyro dream.

I stopped in here for a gyro based on the very positive reviews. It was about 7:30 on a Saturday night and it’s weird because the place isn’t well lit so I thought it was closed and almost drove off. But that seemed like crazy hours, so I went in. There was only one other person inside which contributed to it appearing to be closed. I ordered a classic gyro combo which came with fries and a drink. The fries were thick cut, and cooked perfectly making them quite good. Although I would’ve preferred Greek fries with feta or some other seasoning over just regular American style fries to go along with my gyro. The gyro was packed with meat, a little onion and a little tomato. It had a good amount of tzatziki sauce so it wasn’t dry. But the sauce tasted like it was bottled rather than made from scratch. I like pita that is a little thinner and browned on the grill. They serve it thicker and more bready. But overall it’s a decent gyro. I will come back next time I’m in the neighborhood, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. *update 4/30/15* I’ve been back here a few times during my lunch break and the gyro has been delicious each time — better than my first visit. Not quite sure I crave it yet, but it’s just about to that level. The meat is very nicely seasoned and the pita has been warmed on the grill nicely each time. Definitely recommend it. *updated 8/6/15* I’ve had the gyro here several times now but the last few times I felt like there was something wrong with the tzatziki sauce and it grossed me out each time. Maybe they’re using too much? I’m not sure but it’s kinda ruined gyros for me. Had to drop my rating to 3 stars.

Don’t be deterred by the outside of this place, these gyros are top notch! Already looking forward to my next visit(and probably many more after that). Fast, tasty, close to home. Win!

Five stars? Are you kidding me. I thought you were close to the brink already, but now I know for sure — you’ve lost the remainder of your already severely depleted allocation of marbles. Look, I just read the inane ramblings of your past two reviews. It’s clear you’ve broken down from some form of food-psychosis. But wait. Before you haul me off to the Cheesesteak Emporium or Chuck A Wagon, or wherever you send lost souls like me, hear me out. These guys are open on a Sunday. When your Crowned ones or Souvlaki’ed others are shuttered and barred — Mad Greek offers the gyro lunatic, sweet greasy refuge and savory sustenance. And surely its clear by now, lunacy is my favored operating mode. It doesn’t hurt one jot that this is a gluttonously good example of a gyro, nothing fancy, just hefty layers of juicy meat, tomato and tzatziki. The accompanying fries are piled high as Olympus mons too. The crazed pile up of cars this last Sunday only make me more sure of my nut-jobbery, this Mad Greek is a Sunday five star.

We drove through Mad Greek Express on the way through SLC. It was a fine choice — we had a chicken salad that was very fresh and graciously dressed with chicken(delicious chicken the way it should be cooked), and fish&chips that was as good as any I’ve had. Not sure if it was the special, but we also got some fried garlic toast and rizogalo(rice pudding) with everything. Couldn’t have been happier for lunch, we’ll definitely be back next time we’re passing by. :]

Yum! I love Gyros and I am very picky about them. I tried a gyro from here last week and I will be back for sure!

I had a meal here for the first time two days ago. I had the pork kabobs, rice and salad, take out. The pork was too dry and lacked taste. It was like eating cardboard. The salad was so so, average. The rice was ok. I wasn’t impressed and probably won’t eat here again.

Years ago, this place was on my way to my regular Friday night revelry. I got in the habit of stopping for a gyro, some fried zucchini, and a drink. If my visits don’t number in the triple digits, it has to be close. The zucchini is pretty standard food service fare. And, as with most zucchini that is battered, it the first bite delaminates the vegetation from the batter, leaving you with empty stick. There. That is my sole complaint. Everything else here is top notch. The gyros are, to my mind, the best in the valley. There is a rich, crusty side to every slide of the meat. The meat itself is a nicely spiced blend that even has some visible herbage. The pita it is housed in is always toasted and coated in some good olive oil. To make things even better, between 3 and 9pm lately, they’ve had a dinner special. Usually the gyro is $ 5 and change, which is a fair deal. During the dinner special, you can have your choice of their various gyros(though I always opt for the classic), a small salad, and some rice for a mere $ 5. Killer. Deal. I’m trying to lose weight right now, and in August we moved about seven blocks from Mad Greek, making it even more convenient. It has also played a significant role in the scale reading the exact same number as when my weight loss efforts stepped up. Thanks a lot, Mad Greek!

How did SLC get to be Mecca for Greek fast food. There are more of these places here than anywhere. Throw in the fact that Crown and Astro are also run by Greeks and the place is swarming with Greek fast food. I’d never been here before and I was planning on going to Greek Sovakii, but My dad moved into an assisted living place around the corner, and since I was here I stopped and got a Gyro. I came back the next day and got another one. It was that good.

Nothing really wrong here just also nothing really great. I had the classic Gyro with fires and a soda which came to about $ 7.00 when all was said and done, a very decent value. The Gyro was packaged nicely in a foil envelope and inside that in a wax wrapper which held everything together nicely. Only problem was the meat while nicely cooked and sliced really did not have much flavor. Not bad by any means just a very mild flavor. The fries were hot which is of course good and nicely salted but again, not a lot of flavor. There are about 6 tables, all on a tilt as the tables in the winter are in a kind of shed in the parking lot as I guess this store is mostly a drive-thru which is fine, Lots of burgers and Greek dishes on the menu all reasonably priced. So as I said at the start, nothing really wrong, but nothing really great either other than being a change from the national chains I guess.

Was driving around late one night when I was in town for business. Didn’t know the area at all and didn’t want to go with national chain fast food again. This place is a total gem. All the greek standards(gyro, falafel, souvlaki, and even some tasty baklava) The ambiance is definitely a fast food atmosphere(they have a drive through, after all), but the prices are great and the food is tasty.

Ok. I’ve just had enough of the SLC crown burger ravings. Go Greek, my friends, go Mad. About every 3 weeks I weaken and must have a burger, and Mad Greek gets my cash. Much less expensive than that Crown joint, great food and more variety. Mad Greek restaurants are tiny little places, usually done in blue and white, and rarely do I go in, as they are quick on the drive thru. Simple, fast and mmm good, when you gotta eat a burger. What, only $ 1.69 for a charcoal broiled burger? Don’t miss the souvlaki, another of my cravings, they are are Yum-ee(excellent pita too). ok, AND the fries are excellent. Rice pudding is my dessert of choice. They have some great platters too, if you need a substantial meal. Ok, I would give them 5 stars, but as they qualify as a drive through, I’m giving 4, but these burgers and souvlaki are definitely on my crave list Another review here, with foody details, incl lamb shank ravings(they do much more than the great burgers and souvlaki):
