The shop itself is a little dated(which gets a star knocked off), but don’t let that keep you from coming in. I was able to sit right down and get my pedicure started. My toenails look great but the best part was the great leg/foot massage I got. At 39 weeks pregnant it was exactly what I needed. And the cost was only $ 22 which is a great price. I am looking forward to coming back to see how they do with a shellac manicure.

There are several components to a manicure; foremost, when you’re a woman and you have a big event that same day, is for your nails to NOT look like a seagull upchucked on them by the time it’s concluded. My big event was a funeral. You might imagine, the mood wasn’t great to begin with. Pearl was a passable listener, and took good care of my cuticles and the tips of my nails. I pointed out a thumbnail which had been peeling and needed to be smoothed across its face, not just the end. She didn’t smooth it, a minor thing I might have overlooked, especially since the hand massage was, to echo earlier reviews, excellent(and the only reason for a generous 2 stars). The good marks ended there. The polish color I had picked was the consistency of roofing tar, and she refused to thin it even a little bit, despite several requests. She just globbed it on, and smeared it back and forth. She didn’t even get polish all the way to the tips … I had what looked like perforations at the tips where my bare nail showed through. Also, the polish was piled all over the nails, super thick in spots and thin in others. The borders were jagged. I could have done a better job myself, and I regularly do. Of course that’s not an option when you live 900 miles away and had flown in with a hastily packed go bag, sans nail kit, for a family emergency. I had paid(and tipped, generously) before the polishing so I wouldn’t ruin the polish. I should have waited. Smearing could only have improved it.

Not a fancy space but my technician(the owner) was super precise and conscientious in her work and I walked away with a great pedicure. I was a bit nervous upon entering the salon because it looked a bit shabby but I was very pleased with the result — goes to show that talent is not necessarily wed to its surroundings. I recommend this salon if you want a good pedicure for a low price and are willing to forego ambiance and beautiful furnishings.

I have been to New Diamond Nails over 8 times and would recommend this to anyone. This is a small shop. It is not fancy however the spa chairs for pedicures are new, comfortable and the place is clean. They take their time to give you the best service. The polish stays on forever and their lower leg and foot massage are to die for. My husband likes it too. The rates are reasonable. They take walk ins but give them a call to set up an appointment since it is small.
