Swamptech Swamp Cooler Service

I moved into a house that had a rusty old swamp cooler that had to be replaced. My home owners insurance company recommended Swamp Tech and the service was EXCELLENT. Jason did the initial visit and wrote up the bid, and Ben installed the Trophy Series swamp cooler. They were kind, thorough and priced very reasonably. They even made it super easy to sign up for the rebate through Rocky Mountain Power. Thanks Swamp Tech!!!

5÷4÷16 — (Lowes contract– product $ 783.94. Swamp Tech $ 502.50) We purchased a Master Cool from Lowes and had Lowes coordinate the install through a third party called Swamp Tech. Swamp tech contacted us a week later and had difficulty getting at time coming out to do the bid, when I took some time off to be home for the appointment, no one showed, I called the office and learned that the people at Swamp tech had already performed the estimate and did not need me there, that would have been nice to know.
Lowes contacted me later and made an appointment for the install, and the people at Swamp Tech arrived on time. (May 13, Friday) — The install seem to go fine and the entire job lasted about 2 hours. After the install and paper work for the rebate the installers asked for so they would submit ($ 500 rebate to Wasatch power), they left.
As I started to get on with my day I noticed a metallic smell and a bit of rattling coming from the cooler, I made a note of it and intended to contact Swamp Tech, since the install just happened I thought I would give a little time since its brand new. Later that evening my wife hears a noise from the cooler and the cooler completely stops working.
I call swamp tech and I go right to voice mail. I call Lowes and I get a store manager (Sothear Lorn) and they inform me that they will call swamp techs owner and call be back. Soon after I get a call back from Lowes informing me to call Swamp tech in the morning when other open on Saturday 9:00 am. The next morning I call Swamp tech and I get their voice mail, I call Lowes and get another manager (Dannel Hannah) and she is very helpful and assists me in getting ahold of someone at swamp tech. After being on hold for more than 30 mins I get a hold of a lady at Swamp tech. I describe to her the issue, she informs me that they are all booked Saturday possibly Sunday or Monday they might be able to come out. I inform her that my wife and I both work and our kids are at school. In fact I will be working for the next two weeks straight and with June almost here it’s going to be very hot quick.
At this point she gets into the weeds about here logistical issues, as the customer I really don’t care about her issues since I just paid $ 500 for a service that wasn’t performed adequately. Now I have no recourse? When I tell her that anything after Sunday won’t do she hangs up on me. I’m in a contract I can’t just call another company to come out and fix the job they couldn’t perform in the first place. Lowes is sympathetic but at the end of the day my house is now heating up. What kind of work can I expect from Swamp tech now? I feel like I’ve been taken hostage and I’m the one out $ 500 dollars.

These guys are crooks. I would avoid at all costs. Did quite a bit of damage and did not take responsibilty.

Called twice this week. Both times, I waited on hold for 15 minutes before giving up. Not sure anyone is there!

Been a customer with SwampTech for a while, this is the first I’ve had a poor service experience.
Had a start up service call, and technician never mentioned the pad was bad, today (3 weeks later) I had to pay for emergency call and purchase a new pad, that needs to be special ordered, have to wait a week and pay extra for emergency fee.
In addition, when I asked for an emergency call, the receptionist told me it would be a «hassle» for her to get a hold of a technician who would be willing to come out after hours.
Really surprised about the poor follow-​through and attention to detail. Will probably go with another company in the future.

This Totally misleading service. They should have been clear that this is a swamp cooler service only. They never told me and charged me for nothing. The ad is misleading and says the do air conditioning but they aren’t certified to do A/​C.

These guys are the best. They know all about swamp coolers. Plus that Kyle is so cute! Most of the guys are cute really, but he is my favorite :)

Great Company, Great service, I have used them several times, i have always been very pleased.

I used to work in the mountain school at Snowbird. We used to call it «ski school» but Snowbird is very progressive and «Mountain School» must sound much more sophisticated to management. After all, when you’re charging nearly $ 800/​day for a private request, you don’t want your clients to think of their experience as «school.»
Anyway, I never taught $ 800/​day privates. I was a weekend Wally. Always had been since I started back in 1991. I was the «Queenie» in 1992, right at the point that being «Queenie» stopped meaning something. Ask a veteran. It’s one of the only titles I’ve ever really had.
Anyway, following my divorce in 2007, I went back after a 13-​year «sabbatical.» It really was never the same and stopped being as fun as it once was.
Lunch with my class was typically at the Rendezvous Cafeteria on the second level of the resort center. I would give my order to Jake and he would give it to the cooks. Jake was as nice as could be, always upbeat and friendly. Genuinely liked the guy. One day I saw a TV ad for swamp/​evaporative cooler service from a company called «Swamp Tech.» There was Jake with his pretty wife and little boy telling everybody about his company and what a great business owner he was!
If you’ve got a business with a service to offer, spend the money and get on TV. It’s all about frequency and reach. Use Scarborough ratings and negotiate with your reps. It’s really easy. Hell, my ex does it for her father’s law firm and she barely knows how to use a TV remote control!
Anyway, I went up on my roof this spring to get my cooler ready for the summer. It was a wreck and I immediately capitulated. Figured I’d call my old colleague Jake and have him come out and get me started up for the year.
Turned out my cooler was beyond repair. Decided if I were going to replace it, I wanted the best or something close to it. He bid it out, I got on the interwebs and found a different price which he matched. They came on the Sabbath for the install. It took them forever and I eventually left for dinner. Red Iguana. I like the pumpkin/​almond mole with grilled steak and veggies. Their guacamole plate is just as amazing but I’ve inadvertently delved into an entirely different review…
When the dust settled, I got a killer system. State-​of-​the-​art. VERY reasonable price. They returned for minor adjustments and helped me with the rebate. I get $ 500 from the fine folks at Rocky Mountain Power, thank you very little!
Kind of surprised these guys have any competition whatsoever. Honestly. They know what they’re doing, they do a great job and in my humble opinion, you’d be a fool to waste your time or money going anywhere else. I know that’s a bold statement. I realize that the cynical side of you is thinking, «I bet this jerk-​off is Jake’s brother-​in-​law or something.» You’d be wrong to think that. Jake and I have never gone to the movies together. We don’t play on the same Ultimate Frisbee team. Our children are of such disparate ages, they will never be at the same school or on the same sports team/​dance group/​bible study class together.
I just feel like there’s enough negativity to go around and when I’m genuinely impressed with a service or a product, I want to let people know about it. If you happen to have a less than perfect experience with these people, please let me know. I will personally call Jake and tell him to make it right with you because my reputation will be compromised should that happen. My integrity is all I have left and I’ll do what I can to maintain what little dignity remains!

Moving to SLC a couple years ago and having never heard of a swamp cooler before we bought our home we used them exclusively to maintain our existing cooler. Over the years their work was ok; friendly but at times sloppy as on several occasions we had to have them come back out and perform work several times for the same issue. Their weatherization service for this past winter was a joke as later that week during a storm the cover blew off. When i called them they wouldn’t even give us a discount on a new cover but offered to discount the labor. gee, thanks swamptech. Considering it was lost due to there poor work offering only a discount on labor was pretty insulting. That said since it was fall and we didn’t have any other options I told them to go ahead and order a new one since winter was approaching and we needed something. They said it would take about 3 – 4 weeks to get a replacement. We never heard back and had to scramble to winterize our cooler. They were «ok» the first couple years and we grew to enjoy the benefits of an evaporative cooler but after this last experience its on to central AC as I’m through dealing with this company.

I was super impressed with SwampTech. Fast, very professional, very friendly, very reasonably priced. would use them again in a heartbeat. Thanks guys for a job well done!

One of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with. Never show up at designated times. I’ve even been called they are coming and they never show up. Did routine spring maintenance on swamps we’ve had running for years. Installed pads that let out a toxic smell in the house and the swamps simply can’t be used. Have complained to get that dealt with and they again failed to show. Have talked directly with owner of the company and had no resolution. Can’t understand all the 5 stars on this site — don’t know what company they really work with.

I’ve been a Swamptech customer since 2010. My old cooler was leaking and needed replaced and money was especially tight that summer. Jake worked with me by letting me pay the bill for the new cooler over 3 months which helped my finances immensely. I’ve loved the new energy-​efficient cooler very much over the past 3 years, and have Swamptech come out every Spring and Fall to start-​up and shut-​down the cooler properly.
Today (Mother’s Day!) was my appointment for this year’s start-​up service, and the tech was quick and efficient, as usual. Everything was connected and running in 20 minutes, even to include a neat folding of my cooler cover and straps. The price is very reasonable too. I’m never disappointed in Swamptech’s service, whether it’s the customer service over the phone, or the actual tech service at my home. They rock!

I don’t see how there are any other swamp cooler companies in this town because these guys are that good.
I’m new to swamp coolers as I moved to Utah a year ago and just bought a house a few months ago in the Avenues. So I didn’t know jack about how to service and run a swamp cooler. My contractor had recommended his guy and I tried to call him but his voicemail was full so I sent him my number in a text. Never heard from him. So I found Swamptech in the interweb…
My first impression was great. They offer an automated quoting system which was nice as it gave some insight into what these guys would cost — a real plus to a newby. Their customer service people have always been super friendly and I’ve always gotten a prompt appointment time with some times as late as 7 or 8 at night and as early as 7:30 or 8 in the morning.
The guys who have come out to service my swamp cooler have all been friendly and seem knowledgable and hustle. I Think they’ve been on time or early with each visit.
They came out to do my turn on service, I then had a broken pipe a month later and they rushed a guy out who cranked it out and only charged a small amount for the labor and replacement pipe.
Just now, I noticed that my swamp cooler wasn’t running well — they came out — were early again — super friendly and almost too energetic and earnest. They made some adjustments to the system and cleaned it out and adjusted the pads and since they had been out before they didn’t charge me for this visit.
I must admit, in general, in SLC I have been underwhelmed by a lot of the businesses — but every now and then I am amazed by one. These guys along with a few other businesses have impressed me to write five star reviews (Quality Appliance, Slaugh’s auto, and Millcreek plumbing are the other standouts).

I would like to highly recommend Swamptech Service in Salt Lake City. I find their professionalism and expertise unparalleled for both staff, technicians and management. I am so glad I found a company that I can truly brag about. They pay attention to detail and careful follow through. They now have service contracts that can save money in the long run & I was impressed that they are also in the Chistmas Lighting Business now. We’re thinking of adding those hard to put up lights on the ridge line of our house and maybe adding the front and back for trees and bushes since we have a house on a busy corner and will be viewed by many.
