Intermountain Expresscare

I’ve used Expresscare a couple of times in a pinch and I feel like it’s a great value for what they offer.
Intermountain Expresscare is basically a flat-​fee urgent care center located in a Smith’s. For $ 49 (and they almost always have a $ 10 off coupon on their website) you can see a PA for most typical illnesses and it covers your office visit and any tests performed in office. If you have crummy insurance like me, it can be a big savings.
My daughter woke up with an angry red throat this morning so I knew it was time to make a trip to the Expresscare. We arrived at noon and signed in, as there was someone already in the office. There are little pagers on the desk like the type used at restaurants that you can take so you can walk around the store while you wait. We took one, and were buzzed in less than 5 minutes that they were ready for us.
We were taken into the exam room and the PA took a history, did vitals and then did a rapid strep test on my kiddo. He was great with her and very friendly the whole time, keeping us at ease. Her test took 5 minutes to «brew» and it came up positive so he wrote us a prescription for antibiotics and we were on our merry way. Easy and painless visit in far less time than it would have taken to go to the doctor’s office, and sine it was Saturday we would have had to go to the ER or InstaCare and wait eons to be seen. The entire trip took about 20 minutes. I’ll pay $ 49 for that luxury any day, but I printed the coupon so I only paid $ 39. :)
