Wasatch Periodontics

It seems counterintutive to be excited to see a periodontist (think pain), but I promise you that seeing Dr. Thunell will make you excited to see a periodontist. I’m 29 and had to get a gum graft. I was dreading the procedure and put it off. I found Dr. Thunell after a bad experience at a check up with a different periodontist. My experience with Wasatch Periodontics was hands down the best experience I’ve had with anything in the medical/​dental industry. First of all, Dr. Thunell’s staff is the BEST! They were so helpful in answering all my questions. Dr. Thunell was clear about what was going on with my gums, what we needed to do to fix them, and the exact cost of each procedure. The staff then worked with my insurance to tell me exactly how much my insurance would cover and how much I would pay. That has NEVER happened with anything in the medical/​dental field for me. All to often I go into something blind hoping the cost is not astronomical. So thanks for being straightforward about costs Wasatch Periodontics! The gum graft over 5 teeth went smoothly and quickly. Dr. Thunell and his nurses are good at what they do. Recovery was painful at first, but all was well when I took the medicine prescribed for me for the gum graft. Dr. Thunell also gave out his personal number if I had any questions or concerns after the procedure. My gums look better than ever. Even my dentist agrees. Thanks for making sure my teeth don’t fall out Dr. Thunell!

It was a great experience-​surgery was shorter and far less painful than I expected. Staff was very friendly.

After you use your yearly maximum. They charge you regular prices… I called and asked if they were charging my insurance rates and she told me yes. I called my insurance and found out they are charging me regular prices. I believe if you have insurance they should still honor the contracted prices. I called around and found some honest dentist that do charge the contracted prices after your yearly maximum. We will be going there from now on.
