Our business specializes in Premium Prescription Eyeglasses and Sunglasses. Since 1987, we have been offering the best lifestyle, sport, fashion and affordable eyewear to the Bay Area. We offer the best Progressive and Single Vision lenses the Optical Industry has to offer in Free Form lens technology, and use top designs from ZEISS, Shamir and Hoya (just to name a few). We offer our own Vision Plan for small businesses at no cost to Employers or Employees. It’s a pleasure to work with our clients for their individual needs and dispense tailored glasses that optimize sight, provide protection, and fit individual style.

History

Established in 1987.

We opened our doors for business in the summer of 1987. Since then it has continuously grown. As our business expanded, and new product lines and technology developed in the eyewear industry, we decided it would be beneficial to our community to offer Prescription Eyewear services. In the summer of 2010 we went full speed ahead, and began to make prescription eyewear a core part of our business. Being on San Anselmo Ave for this many years has allowed us to be apart of a culture that is full of art, music, and history. Thank you to all of the people that have walked through our doors and made our business possible.

I had a great experience buying some sunglasses and getting advice about post-​cataract surgery. They were super friendly and helped me make a great choice for glasses. They use Zeiss lenses, which is the same as my Olympus camera. Very high quality. I also got $ 50 off using an ad they placed on Unilocal.Nice!

I walked in on Xmas eve looking to replace the lenses of my reading glasses ASAP. Alisha was SO helpful and friendly! She is definitely a customer service oriented optician even though they themselves couldn’t turn the lenses around as fast as I needed them, Alisha referred me to another establishment and now I have new reading glasses and much less eye strain!
I’ve shopped at Wink before and every time I walk in the service is grand! It’s not a high-​pressure place, but a comfortable place to buy some of the best frames around! I highly recommend Wink if you’re looking for something more, um, high-​end or high quality than the mall opticians. If you wear your glasses every day, like I do, it matters what they look like and how durable they are. Do yourself a favor and shop here. They’re having a sale on some brands right now too.

I was a faithful customer to Sunglasses city and and wanted to give Wink Optics a chance. I bought a pair of Kaenon sunglasses (granted, on sale for 165.00) and the lens peeled off in 6 months time. I also purchased a 250.00 pair of glasses for my husband. When I brought them back I was told by the sales girl they could ship them back to the manufacturer but it would cost me 20.00, and the reason they were on sale was because of this problem. Really? They sell merchandise they know is defective? Why didn’t she tell me? I paid my 20.00 and got a call that they were ready for pick up but I owe 20.00. I called the salesgirl back and explained I already paid for it. Sent my husband in to pick them up, and what does she do but charge him 20.00 I had to call back and ask for them to reverse the charges. Not a great experience and certainly not the same customer service level nor competitive pricing of Sunglasses City. May try again, but not overly excited.

Really stunning selection of eye eyewear. Really wonderful staff. Beware. Get ready to throw down a generous sum of money unless you are looking at the sale table outside. Also, beware. No return policy, no exceptions. I was really excited about this place, my father and I both found really beautiful pairs of glasses here and had great costumer service when trying to decide on the perfect pair. We both made the mistake of not asking the price. Long story short, we purchased 2 frames for over $ 1,000. Unfortunately we also thought the lenses would be included with those frames, but alas they were not. so it would be an additional $ 400 a pair. Since this was way out of our budget, we attempted to return the glasses immediately, but unfortunately there is a no return policy. I’m still a little unsure why we couldn’t return the frames an hour after we purchased them, but it is what it is «store policy». When we went back to sort things out with our store credit, Alisha and Nick were very nice and very helpful. And we are satisfied with our purchases.

Wow !!! This is such a fabulous place. The owners Frank Gomez and Quynh Nguyen are some the of nicest people I have met in a long time. Frank has such wonderful positive energy that is contagious along with wonderful glasses, sunglasses, I mean I loved the europeon style glasses I were the other day when I was in a fashion show. As soon as I put them on, I was an instinct BIG DEAL … lol but I did feel gooooooood. Anlisha is super fun, someone I would hang out with, positive happy person, loves trying looks on you.
This is another hidden gem in San Anselmo, feels like I am in Milan …
great quality, owners are there and do actually care to get to know you!

I have a small face and have a really hard time finding frames that fit. .. frames that are hip and stylish, that is. I happened to pass this place when I was in San Anselmo and was happy to find a great selection! However, the most important thing to me is «customer service» because I am hard to fit. WINK delivers a strong performance!!! When I had some problems, they stepped up and set things right. Customer satisfaction is important to them. And as a new customer, who am I to disagree :0) Check them out for yourself.

Nick is awesome. My husband had cataract and corrective eye surgery today and he needed to remove one lens from his glasses. We did not have the tools and I stopped here and Nick removed the lens and was very gracious. He reminded me to bring old eyeglasses to them to donate to Lion’s Club

«I can see clearly now… ’ Seriously, just like that song, I can see clearly now should be that store’s theme song. After dealing with numerous readers and good but lost sunglasses I took my prescription to Alisha. She was fantastic at helping me select awesome and affordable Tom’s frames and then putting my prescription into the lens. At first something was wrong with the way the lenses were done in the lab. No problem, it was just a matter of a couple days and the problem was corrected. She was very patient about figuring it out and I can’t believe the difference a pair of prescription lenses make! Plus, they have a nice tint to them so I’m not always rummaging through my purse for sunglasses, readers, computer glasses, etc. Sunglass city is the place to go folks! They are great about adjusting the frames to fit your face, etc. The staff, Sierra and Nick, are professional and helpful. The other treat is when Alisha has her baby son Ari with her, who is too cute to be true. All of the above makes for a very pleasant experience, plus they have a wide range of cool looking frames. I am a lifelong customer of Alisha’s Sunglass City!

Amazing customer service! I fell in love with some gorgeous frames in their store and was working Nick. We were trying to custom order them when I was accidently quoted a lower price than they were suppose to be. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the error until after I had purchased a Unilocal voucher to buy the glasses. Nick was so apologetic and worked with his manager to correct the error. Not only did they honor the lower price, they gave me an even better price to make up for my inconvenience. And they had the glasses to me with new lenses in 2 days. I have never had customer service so good in my life! Wonderful people who truly care about taking care of their customers. I will definitely go back there again for future glass purchases.

Great customer service. The rep from Maui Jim’s was there yesterday and he selected 2 glasses that I would not have tried on and I loved them. Bought one and I’m going back for the other pair. They are a new style that weighs hardly anything. He gave me a hanger for my car that works great
I brought my 8 year old grandson with me and they were so nice to him. Gave him a pair of sunglasses took his picture. Fed him peaches. Alisha Made us feel like family Alisha was so nice.

My bride didn’t want to drive from Ross to SF to see her optometrist just to get her sunglasses repaired. I searched Unilocal,liked the reviews for Sunglass City and made the suggestion.
She came back later wearing the repaired sunglasses and a smile. She said «the two gals there were busy with customers but said ‘Leave your glasses here and come back in a half an hour’. So I went shopping, found xxx, and went back. The glasses were repaired, the gal was very nice, and it was only 5 bucks. I’m happy.»
The only problem for me was that Sunglasses City got all the credit. So what else is new ;-p

I love sunglasses and this place specializes in them! Alicia is super helpful and does repairs, customer service there is great. They have a large selection and they’ve ordered sunglasses for me that they didn’t have in stock. Great place, can’t say enough good things.
