Excellent pizza. I wondered if the restaurant would live up to the hype, and it does. Soft, flavorful crust. Tasty sauce, caramelized cheese — yum! Our server, Ezra, was attentive and that was no easy task, since we had 36 in our group! We’re looking forward to going back.

Visiting San Antonio on work and was told of Big Lou’s Pizza by a friend. When we got there, the place was jammed with people having a great time. After looking looking over the menu(five of us), we decided to order the 3rd largest pizza they had. When it arrived a few minutes later, I saw the largest pizza I had ever seen in my life. Each slice were as long as my arm. We couldn’t eat more than half of the pizza. Big Lou’s Pizza is a must go when in the area. Good pizza, good beer, good service, great fun.

Expect to wait a bit when you come here. Especially if you have a big party. I came with my husband and the wait was only about 15 – 20 minutes on a Sunday evening– we got lucky! The pizza was extremely tasty! We tried their 12 inch pepperoni. The crust is light, buttery, and perfect! We would definitely return.

This was the first time here and we were very pleased with the experience. The prices are very reasonable and the pizza was hot and tasty. I was so surprised that they have happy hour specials on a Sunday! We had pizza, a few beers and soda all for under $ 30 not including tip. We did have to wait awhile but were lucky to wait at the bar and had Joey attend to our needs. We also met Carlo and he gave us some history of Big Lou’s and he was very attentive. It was a bit of a drive to get there but we love to support local restaurants and we would definitely go back.

EASTSIDE * GIANTPIZZA Pretty darn good pizza and by far the biggest pizza’s I’ve ever seen or been apart of eating. So glad Eddie had his birthday get together here. Feeling manly? Go for the 64 inch Pizza, no ones judging you!

I really liked this place — the huge(HUGE) pizzas are actually very good. Definitely worth the long drive from Boerne.

Waited an hour for our pizza then to be told it was never made. After 40 minutes the server said it would be 6 – 8 more minutes. After an hour was told it would be 10 more minutes. Once our pizza arrived the manager came over and apologized and took care of our meal. Pizza good as usual. And happy they fixed the error.

Pizza is big for sure. However, I rank taste ahead of shear size. And taste was rather lacking. Cool to visit one time but will probably not be back.

Excellent!!! No wait, took longer to order as this was our first time. This is very good pizza and I have had New York City pizza. Service was great, employees very helpful and friendly. On vacation from El Paso Texas and if you come to San Antonio I high recommend giving this place a try! 4:54 pm on a Saturday

Stopped in yesterday while being out in The San Antonio area. I called in to check how long the wait was. I was told there wasnt one. I got there with in 10 minutes of the phone call and there was a huge line. I dont think it that line got like that in less than ten minutes. Anyways, i ordered the 10″ pizza with pepperoni, sausage, canadian ham, mushroom and jalapenos. I also ordered a small side salad. I was dissapointed with the salad. It seemed like they cut half of a lettuce and placed it in a bowl. They also threw in about 5 pieces of olive, very little cheese and two slices of tomato. Too dry. The pizza was ok. Nothing great. The outer crust is thick. The pizza crust was thin. Half of the toppings fell off when i took the first bite. It was But its nothing i would brag about. I saw this place on an episode of Man vs Food. Thats why i stopped by. I would come back, but maybe with a group. Beer and pizza night. No salad. Lol.

This place is so cool! If you love pizza this is the place for you!!! There’s two bars We got the 37″ pizza between myself and three other guys and we all only could have two pieces, though we did all have two tall beers as well. The prices are good the alcohol and beer selections are good service was nice. I’m more of a thick crust kind of girl so I didn’t really like how thin it was but when you get to the crust part it’s AMAZING! We got pepperoni and cheese and the pepperoni slices were like tomato slices. HUGE! There’s a pizza that is 62″ that you have to order two weeks in advance, that you can only have on the weekends, and there’s only one table in the restaurant where the pizza fits. Been going strong since 2000 and I hope to go back soon it was an awesome experience.

We go every year here when we are nearby with all our employees. Usually there are 18 – 25 of us. The first time we got the 6 ft pizza and it was not only a blast but it was actually really tasty ! Now they only offer the 6 ft one on the weekends so we have been getting two of the 42 inch pizzas, still delicious and fun. I’m always impressed that the pizza isn’t just Ginormous but it’s delicious we usually do one pepperoni and the other half cheese and half sausage — let me tell you the Italian sausage is really good and I’m Italian ! The staff is always super friendly and attentive and we always enjoy ourselves !

Big Lou’s is better than average pizza for SA. It’s not NYC-style pizza. The crust has a sweet taste, and is way too spongy for NYC. I think a common misconception in SA is that thin crust equals New York style, which is not the case. However, though I’m biased as heck toward NYC pizza, a pizza need not be made that way in order to be good. I found this pizza to be highly delectable, from the cheese to the sauce and crust. Big Lou’s makes a distinctive pizza in SA that’s super tasty fresh out of the oven, and even tastier the next day! It’s floppy, greasy goodness in a cardboard box. The next time you’re craving a pie, buy a big pizza from Big Lou’s and decide for yourself. Whether you do or not, I’m going to get it again ;)

The pizza is crazy big but the flavor across pizza is the same. Very greasy! I think I used like five napkins to wipe my hands. If you’re going to dine in it’s a very unorganized wait. Sorry but that was the most irritating part of my experience here. Even the folks in the take out section felt the same way. I love the size and look of the pizza but my experience was not the same as my eyes saw. It’s definitely worth a try for the first time experience. The staff is friendly and the met all all needs while we waited at our table. I wish they had more pepperoni and sausage. Cheese was heavy no matter what flavor of pizza you ordered. They have a nice selection of beer on tap and nice bar setup in the back. It’s worth trying for the first time experience but I don’t see myself coming back again.

I guarantee that you or someone in your group will say«Wow» when you see how large the pizzas are. The pizzas are seriously ginormous! I rarely visit San Antonio, but when I do, I go to Big Lou’s. It’s great for large groups, although the wait is at least an hour. Take out is usually quicker if you don’t mind not dining in. By the time the pizza comes out, I’m sure you’re famished and just want to dig your face into the pie. Your hands will get greasy, your mouth will be smothered with pizza sauce and your stomach will be bursting when you leave. Overall Big Lou’s is definitely a place to visit if you’re in San Antonio. The city may be small, but San Antonio sure knows how to do it big!

Visited San Antonio for a business trip with my job and had this place at the top of my list for places to try after seeing it on Man Vs. Food. All I can say is I had a blast!!! There was a long line for ordering our pizza that went by fast and smooth. It was 4 of us so we decided to order the 2nd to largest pizza(I know, wimps lol)…while we waited, we had a few drinks and watched as other tables tried to finish their pizzas. Ours finally came and I can honestly say it was some damn good pizza. Everything tastes fresh from the sauce to the cheese to the toppings. This pizza ranks my top 5 pizzas I’ve eaten. Dinner then turned into a competition for how many pizzas we can eat each. With other groups joining in on the fun from other tables. I clocked out at 3 and half slices. To wrap this up… great food, great environment, good drinks, and good/fun people. I recommend this for anyone visiting the San Antonio area. Dinner 4÷10÷2012

It’s not the best pizza, It’s not the worst, but it really satisfies that pizza craving. Expect at least a 2 hr wait every time though. you know at least an hour alone just to cook it throughly, no one wants uncooked dough!!! Its the perfect place for reunions, gatherings, because the wait time lets you mingle. The staff was nice. The atmosphere is dim and kind of gross, but hey as long as the the table was sanitary. The pizza is real thin, not overwhelming with sauce, had supposedly 30lbs of cheese? Not sure but it was like super cheesy. Toppings have been more for the supposed super topping. But overall I could see myself come back if I was going with people who wanted to try. But one time is enough for me!
