Derek did an awesome job with my cartilage piercing, it was clean, sterile, and quick. He answered all my questions and even helped my mom insert her belly button ring since she was having trouble. I’ll definitely come back if I get another piercing

My daughter is 14 years old and ask for a Cartledge piercing for over a year. For completing 8^th grade and straight A for 5 years, we agreed. We did research and found Buda Box we had an amazing experience. The staff was knowledgable, friendly, and very gentle. The equipment was sterilized (autoclave) in front of us. I would recommend them with out reservation. Thank you so much for a life exercise and memory.

Derek came highly recommended to me by some very good friends. I happen to be near the shop a couple day’s ago and went in to talk to him about some piercing I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and cleanliness of Derek and the shop. He is compassionate and explains every step of the way what he is doing. I was afraid three piercing at once would be painful but no it wasn’t and having them all healing at the same time makes it easy for me. I am very happy I came here and very happy with my piercing. Went in to get 1 microdermal removed and 2 more added. Derek was my piercer and he did a beautiful Job!!! He was attentive, professional, and very polite.
He was open to my ideas and very knowledgable when recommending locations for the placement of my dermal and the size of my jewelry, resulting in an even more better outcome than when I went to a different shop the first time.

I figured now that my ear is healed I can review this place! I was very nervous and went in on my 18^th birthday to collect some information about this place to decide where I thought would be best on getting a piercing. They showed me around, told me their prices, and the different rings they offered. 2 days later, I went back in and had my tragus pierced. Derek was very nice, and gave me tips on how to take care of it. I will be going back for my next piercing!

I’ve been contemplating getting a piercing for a while. I went to a couple places in Austin searching for a piercer I would be comfortable with, but I just couldn’t find one. I went to San Antonio one weekend for work and thought, «why not search for something down here?» At first I searched through Maps on my iphone and I found nothing with good reviews. Next I searched on Unilocal,and Buddha Box popped up with 25 reviews and 4.5 stars! Hands down, this was the best choice! I don’t normally do things spur of the moment, but after a quick convo with Derek over the phone, I knew I just HAD to go. I brought a couple girlfriends with me for support because although I was super excited, I was also extremely nervous haha. But this place gave good vibes, Derek was awesome, funny, professional, talked me through the whole process and was very patient with me. I highly recommend you see Derek!

I got my nostril done in August (which has healed up nicely) and just got my helix and conch done today. I’ve been to two other piercers for other work and can say that Derek is my favorite. I felt so at ease being able to ask a bunch of questions. Super clean shop all around and a really nice selection of jewelry. Can’t wait to go back!

Now that we have been here I can write another review. My last review was based on the customer service I received when I called (which was great by the way).
I was finally able to get my daughter in for her ears to be pierced. We received the same great customer service we did on the phone. The shop is very clean. The people who work there are very knowledgeable. The piercing area was private and clean. They sterilized the equipment as soon as showed up. So we got to experience seeing them open a fresh, steaming hot sterilization drawer with the equipment in it. That was cool to see especially when that equipment was being used on my daughter.
We were told how to care for her ears (which have not become infected and it’s been a few weeks). We were there during a sale on jewelry which brought the price down. Follow them on facebook to see when they have sales. Or not I would have happily paid full price for the piece of mind I received.
Overall 5 stars isn’t enough. This place goes above and beyond the standards of most piercing places and tattoo shops. Customer service alone is enough to come back but how clean they are ranks just as high for me.

The people here are SO helpful, and willing to work with you on exactly what you’re looking for! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! :)

Just the other day, my sister and I went in because she was going to pay for me to get my nostril pierced. There was a bit of a wait since I sat in the car easing my mind long enough for two people to go in ahead of me for piercings, but I did get in and the wait was nothing to complain about.
The shop is clean and lovely, and it has a very comfortable vibe to it. Derek was my piercer, and he was definitely the best piercer I’ve ever had for any of my piercings. We joked about my fear of getting an industrial, and he talked me through every step. He was very clean and careful, and it didn’t hurt at all! Hell, it still doesn’t hurt now (except when I yawn) on day four!
Thank you very much, Derek, you’ll definitely see me again.

I can’t say enough good things about Derek! He set my 72 year old mother’s mind at ease when she went in for her ear piercing. She was so impressed with his patience, the sterilization process, his offer for after care should she need it. She is so very happy with her ears and my sister and I couldn’t be more grateful!

I recently went into Buddha Box for the first time when I took my friend to look at some new jewelry for her septum piercing. I was instantly impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the space and the staff. I was, in fact, so impressed that I decided it was time for me to get my first tattoo (that I had been thinking about for at least a couple of years prior, but never knew of a place is feel comfortable getting the work done.) That being said, I had nothing but a great experience. The whole staff was knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions I had about the process. August did an awesome job, and I am seriously in love with my new ink. So glad to have found this gem. Would definitely come back for any new pieces in the future.

I went about a week ago to get a second nostril piercing and to get my best friends nostril piercing done with me as her Christmas present.
I’m HUGE with customer service, and let me tell you, this place had it down PAT. The piercers name was Derek, and he was funny, sweet and took care of all our questions. Although my friend wanted the piercing done with a ring, he advised against it, due to healing time. Mine was a little different. I originally wanted the piercing done behind and a little lower than my original piercing. But again, he persuaded me into loving it differently. They had a beautiful selection of studs, and he was very patient with my indecisive mind. He did exceptionally well with trying to calm us down. The only thing I didn’t like about the experience is he didn’t ask if we wanted it done with a 20 or an 18 gauge. But the more I think about it, the more I love it. The more I look at it, the more I love it. The piercings are healing well for the both of us and we are so excited and happy we got to do this together and this place made it so worth it.

Been going to him since 1998 and nothing has changed other than he has more experience than ever before. He is the most knowledgable and professional piercer in town and has done a great job with his business endeavor Buda Box. Very legit.
All his staff seems to do great work and is truly professional and well trained .
The place itself is clean, and I would recommend it to anyone. Derek does beautiful work as well I follow them on Instagram and see other artist work from Buddha Box. You should check it out for yourself if your considering getting work done.
