CHRISTUS Sister Mary Hospice Center

Christus Sister Mary Hospice provided professional, dignified, pain-​free, compassionate care for my father as he succumbed to cancer. The staff was incredibly attentive, knowledgable, accommodating and made a difficult time a positive one for all. They provided kind people for the initial evaluation and continued grief services after dad’s death. The facility is lovely and comfortable. I strongly recommend the services of Christus Sister Mary Hospice to anyone who wishes to leave this world surrounded by family, love and dignity.

My mother died in this hospice and suffered greatly. She was in pain they could NOT control. And, there were at least 2 staff, an obese dark haired CNA, and obese silver haired nurse with glasses, that were physically rough on purpose with my mom, making her pain even worse. My mother had rigid muscles and any movement was excruciating for her. These 2 staff, especially the CNA would come in and jerk her legs apart or roughly reposition her. The agony and suffering was plain to see on mom’s face even though she could not cry out. The morphine pump was NOT locked and 2 family members changed the dose leaving mom unresponsive. The director would do nothing about it until forced by APS. Recently, I had a friend get placed there by his doctor for a brief stay. I could not believe after reporting this rough nurse and extremely rough CNA, I saw that BOTH OF THEM were still working there! My friend had trouble expressing himself toward the end. He was able to say «she’s mean» when the short haired CNA came in the room. It was all a horrible nightmare I will never get over. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS IN HOSPICE DOES NOT MEAN IT IS OKAY TO TREAT THEM BADLY!!! I thank God these 2 staff members will have to answer to our LORD one day.
