I saw an ad on TV in Honolulu on Apr 25, 2014 for a seminar to be presented locally by Coker Institute of Empowerment. It looked interesting, so I decided to check it out. I did a Google search on the name, found the website, and went to it. The website was easy to navigate. It has a map showing their location, their address, and a phone number (without any area code). There are also drop down menus that list their programs and three people on the «Bio’s» menu. At the bottom of the it says «Coker Institute Of Empowerment | 2014® ALL RIGHTS RESERVED |».
I did searches using


and others using the name «Coker Institute of Empowerment» and San Antonio, TX 78 230. They all came up without an exact match. It did return «Integrative Healing Institute, San Antonio, TX» which is some blocks away from the «Coker Institute» on a different street.
I went to the Better Business Bureau website and looked up Coker Institute of Empowerment in San Antonio, TX 78 230. They did not have a match either.
I am not sure that this is a legitimate business since I should not find any info on the web about it.
I also did people searches on «Cathy Coker» and San Antonio, TX, using the several different search engines. There were quite a few hits with several different middle initials, but none of them matched the address of the business listed on their website.
Since there website has «2014® ALL RIGHTS RESERVED», it could be that they are a relatively new business. That might explain why there is no e-​trail on the web about them.
I did a final Google search using «Coker Institute of Empowerment review». It came up with some interesting results. One titled «School Claims it Can Teach the Paranormal» said that «The Coker Institute of Empowerment opened in January. The school charges $ 20 per class.» There was no year listed, but I think they mean January 2014.
Bottom line, be careful if you are interested in shelling out your cash for one of their seminars.
Not sure how many stars to give them, that’s why I gave them only one.
