Express Lube Plus #4

This was my first time there and everyone was friendly and I got fast service I took my new car to get its first oil change and they did exactly what I asked. They didn’t pressure me into buying extras and they did an excellent job vacuuming out my car. I will definitely be going back.

Service was okay. Don’t take your kids if you go to this location there were a million ants in the gum-​ball/​peanut machine while we were there!!! YUCK!!! I told the service guy and he said yes, I know they never come and change it. What a safety issue — he couldn’t even take it off the customer service floor. I know you are not there for the gum-​ball machine but still shows how they are getting run down! Take your car to jiffy lube! This was so Disgusting!

Wow amazing. I came in for an inspection. My left blinker stopped working and my side running light was out. I thought it was a bad bulb, so I bought a pack. Turns out it was something electrical. «YIPES!!!» I thought, this is going to cost me. They checked it out, and turns out the left blinker was a bad fuse. And the side running light needed to be replaced.
They also pointed out some other issues that might be a problem in the future, but were honest about costs if I needed them, and if the work could wait or was required at all. The mechanic even cleaned up the engine after he looked at the electrical system.
All in all, less than 30 bucks I had an inspection done and both lights working. All in less than hour.

The employees are really nice, very professional and never seem like they are overcharging. Often they ask me if I want to do something extra or more intense than a standard oil change… but they never push it if I say no or don’t want to spend the money. They don’t talk down to you or assume you don’t know anything about your vehicle or how to fix things on your own. They ask questions to make sure they are giving you the best option for your needs. I will continue to take my vehicles to this location because I know I can trust them to do a good job, be quick and friendly, and not overcharge.

I went in for a routine oil change expecting everything to be completed. I had to go back the next day after noticing my tire had low pressure and the windshield wiper fluid was bone dry. The manager topped off my fluids and inflated the tires but still left me wondering if the oil change and high mileage additive was actually done. A «$ 10 off next oil change» sticker was given to me but I will not be returning to redeem it.

The guys here are nice. I went to this shop for brake service back in Oct 2013. I told them specifically that I wanted my brakes fixed so they will NOT «squeal» anymore. He told me he understood exactly what I needed. They explained to me that I needed new pads & my rotor resurfaced. The front brakes were worse. So, they fixed them. I drove off & my brakes still had a squeal noise. I drove back & told them. They told me that my brakes needed to be used (driven longer) & if they still squeal, that I should come back. Due to my career, I left TX.
Now, that I’m in NC, I went to get the squeal fixed again. This time, I got my back brakes fixed at Midas. They told me that I needed pads & rotor resurfaced. They did it and my back brakes NO LONGER squeal. They used new «ceramic pads» with a LIFETIME warranty. I was told, «…by the way, your front brakes are NOT ceramic & this is why they are squealing.»
I’m disappointed because:
1. I specifically said I wanted my front brakes fixed so they will not squeal.
2. They did not use newer advanced products.
3. I paid more for this job than I did for the Midas brake job.

NC Midas job = $ 250

First, never ever go to a car lube place without a coupon or some promotion going. In fact, I usually get all my oil changes with coupons and save a ton. Anyway, if paying full price here, you’ll pay close to $ 40 so make sure they have a promo going. The semi and full synthetic oil changes are pricey but I always get semi synthetic.
As for the service itself, I found them to be quite nice, accommodating, and their waiting room, while small, had coffee and a soda machine (.50 per can). The service was done quickly and they had me in and out in no time.
This location also has a Unilocal check-​in coupon for 10% off a service so make sure to check in.

I’m pretty anal about my car, after all I drive a sweet Dodge Challenger. Express Lube carries Royal Purple synthetics, which IMHO, is the best product out there for your engine. If you get the RP Oil Filter with the oil change, they (Royal Purple) guarantee it for 12K miles. Of course, Express Lube can perform a variety of different maintenance services, and this location even has a shop in the back for more extensive services/​repairs. From my experience, most of the staff at the Babcock location has been very professional and will often offer up discounts if you get multiple services. Another nice thing is that they regularly have a Groupon available for purchase. After many bad experiences at other shops, this is the only place I trust my car with. I usually drop the car off at lunch and it’s ready when I get back. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that there is some room for improvement in service.
