One month later. Stayed here again and will be back again next month. This is a great hotel with friendly staff (the breakfast crew, the front desk crew, all of them) a little disappointed I wasn’t offered free water based on my loyalty status again this stay, but I was only disappointed because well, Texas water is pretty gross. :) … see you in 1 month!

This hotel was fairly clean. The beds were comfortable. The room needed some serious help. It was so poorly decorated. There was a whole wall with nothing on it. I cannot tell you how much it annoyed me to look at blank wall.
I was there with my 3 kids. I asked for a crib. They put a pack n play in the room for me. They did not put it together. The base/​pad to the pack n play did not fit perfectly and they did not provide me with a sheet for it. Thankfully I had a pack n play sheet in my bag for the pack n play in my car.
This leads me to parking. There is none. You have to valet. Which isn’t a big deal. But when you have a bunch of kids with you, you have to make sure you have everything, as running back to your car to grab something is not that simple.
This brings me to another point. I wanted a suite because I liked the idea of having a sorta separate sitting area so my kids could go to bed and I could watch tv. The only problem with this is the only tv was on the side with the beds.
The breakfast was good. My kids loved the waffles. The staff was very friendly.

After a couple of unhappy experiences with Hilton I am glad I stayed here. This location was near the airport and when I landed I called and they made sure the shuttle driver found me. When the shuttle driver pulls up to the parking lot I was immediately impressed. They had a Cracker Barrel walking distance. The room was very spacious and had a mini kitchen! Lots of storage places. I think this place is perfect for long stays and when traveling with children as well. I did make it to the gym and it had what I needed. But what stood out was the laundry facility. A very convenient place to do your laundry. I did eat the free breakfast. It was nothing spectacular but it was free and the area was clean. I had a bagel with cream cheese.
I keep staying at Hiltons to enjoy the perks like my free bottle water at check in… If you read my other reviews you will see how disappointed I am when I don’t get my bottle water. This place delivered. I would recommend staying here and also becoming a Hilton Honors member. I won’t be traveling as much for work anymore but if I was I would have kept this location on my rotation of places to stay at.

Great location & service! They have a dress code Saturdays. Music was to mellow but maybe we were there to early not sure if that is normal.

Really nice hotel with spacious room. Great for family but I wish the bed is more comfortable.

guest room
Far and away one of the best guest rooms anywhere near this location in San Antonio. All other hotels pale in comparison. Home2 Suites rooms were clean, bright, modern and well-​designed. Everything is well thought out. The kitchen is amazing. Three quarter size ‘fridge, dishwasher, plates and glasses. The couch and sitting area are comfortable and inviting. There is MORE than enough storage for anyone — drawers, cabinets, closets, hutches and everything else under the sun. Tons of counter space. Exceptional bathroom. OK, that’s enough, you get the idea.
food and beverage
Breakfast bar is very good. Enough options change each day that it is never boring. Food is high quality and appropriate for business travelers or families. No bar or restaurant, which is in keeping with the brand’s design and amenities.
staff
Front desk staff were acceptable. Housekeeping and breakfast staff were always warm, welcoming and gracious. In fact, most housekeeping staff seemed to stop what they were doing just to say hello.
common spaces
Very nice mini-​gym and laundry on first floor, near the entrance. I was here long enough to need the washer and dryer. They worked great. The saline pool is awesome. Really enjoyed it. There is also an outdoor grill area and an outdoor seating are that are pretty cool. Lobby and breakfast areas are nice.
location
A few restaurants and bars within walking distance. I avoided Logan’s Roadhouse and Applebee’s, but enjoyed Pappadeaux. Hotel is very close to interstate and all roads in the area are very busy. Definitely lock your car and be careful walking at night, area is kinda sketchy. Easy access to airport. The hotel shuttle does NOT provide rides to anywhere except the airport, so bring your walking shoes.

This is a beautiful, brand new Hilton hotel. It’s new, it feels fresh and clean. You’ll enjoy your stay here.
Beware: the hotel is situated right next to some shady apartments. I’ve stayed here almost every week for a year. During that time my car was broken into only once. I consider myself lucky in that respect as there is routinely shards of car glass strewn about the rear parking lot.
I certainly don’t blame the hotel for the break-​ins I’m just recommending that you don’t park your vehicle behind the hotel. They are aware of the break-​ins from what I could tell after talking to the staff. The front desk agent said that management was «thinking about hiring a security guard» — this was a few months back, so maybe they’ve got a guard now.
Anyway, in summary — this is a lovely hotel but watch where you park. Enjoy your stay in San Antonio.

Never stayed here !!! But I don’t know how to delete the review … But from the pictures, it appears to be a wonderful place to stay … My next visit, I will most definitely stay here !!

Lovely big room and bathroom. The kitchenette area was well stocked with everything I needed for my stay. Lots of outlets for charging computers and cell phones. My room was on the second floor right outside the elevators and around the corner from the ice machine and the door to the stairs. Despite the proximity, the only noise I heard was the ding from the elevator — not annoying at all. I expected much more noise from the hallway but only experienced noise from the kids directly above me… That said, the lights directly outside my windows WERE annoying and the view was of the parking lot and overpass. My room was clean and housekeeping was decent, kept my towels replenished but didn’t thoroughly vacuum if at all. Really, really weak shower spray paired with a very slow moving drain. Wish there was overhead lighting but lots of lamps.
Beware the final hour of the free breakfast. Many mornings it was a free-​for-​all situation and I saw lots of hoarding going on… I’m just hoping all those people who looted trays of fruit, milk, breakfast sandwiches, and yogurt away to the elevator (while those of us behind you were left with nothing) actually ate up all that food.
Nice workout space except the main TV is in the absolutely worst spot when you’re on the cardio machines. Quick, cheap, and effective machines in the laundry area.
The «Business Center» consists of 2 computers and a printer in the lobby. No privacy at all. Had to ask to borrow a stapler. Some paper clips would be nice.
Good location near the airport. Friendly front desk.

I stay in A LOT of hotels, and this was hands down the best chain hotel in which I’ve ever stayed. It’s my first experience with the Home2 Suites brand, and I’ll use them from now on in every city that has one. The little, well-​thought-​out touches are what did it for me. A curtain instead of a door on the closet. An additional curtain that divides the sleeping portion of the room from the living portion which you can open to make the room bigger if you like. An induction heating hot plate and skillet. I could go on and on. They nailed it.

Just moved here and needed somewhere big for all our luggage. Loved all the staff! Everyone was so friendly. Greeted us all the time. Knowing that we were trying to find a school for our son with certain needs, Chris at the front desk, went home asked his mom and came back to tell me some suggestions. How touching.
Clean, comfortable beds especially the sheets. They have a grill outside. I looked n thought it had never been used but saw them cleaning it after someone uses it. Breakfast was really good. Good waffles not like the rubber pancakes at the hotel before we got here.
The only con I found was we were on the second floor and the shower was ok, had to buy a sponge to wash the dishes, use a butcher knife to dice a jalapeño. Moved to the third floor (because we extended) and oh wow they have little sponges, oh and a little knife, then you go to take a shower and to quote my husband «it’s like to gnomes peeing on you.» My son n I ended up using a cup to pour water on us in the bath.
I must add that when I let them know at the front they immediately did send maintenance up to fix it.
So all in all loved the place and the staff made it great that the cons weren’t such a big deal, but it was really luck of the draw how your room will be.
Just a little info before you buy anything ask the front desk if they have what you need.

Funky modern décor makes this hotel a nice break from the standard… especially if you stay in a Hampton Inn 90% of the time. HOME 2 being an «extended stay» hotel with only 3 King Suites makes it tough to get one for a night, and that’s most definitely not going to happen for your free diamond member upgrade when you arrive. But the regular king and queen rooms are good size, so it’s not really an issue. Kitchenette is nice and modern, clean and convenient.
Ok, so the bedding… I’m not sure sure why, but there is what appears to be a mattress cover /​bed skirt under the comforters and on top of the sheets?! Either the housekeeping people have never made a bed before or I missed the latest fad in bed making. I will post a pic of this since I’m baffled as to how that even happens. The pillows are light, lumpy, and crappy too. So FAIL on the bedding situation. At least the mattress is comfortable enough.
The staff here was friendly as all get up and the place seems clean. Way close to the airport, so that’s a plus. We’ll see how the rest of my stay goes, but so far it’s pretty decent.

Wonderful hotel! Great service from the start, all employees are very helpful, professional and willing to go out if your way. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. Rooms do not have a stove or cooktop but the front desk will let you use a electric burner. This hotel is right down the street from the North Star mall (tons of great shopping), the Quarry outdoor shopping mall, move theaters and tons of restaurants. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time, will return if I am back in SA.

pleasantly surprised about this place. décor is contemporary and green. we were moving and needed a place that accepts dogs and this is the only one that fit the bill. really liked the kitchen area that has everything you need especially for an extended stay. for the dogs there’s a dog area in the back with grass and waste bags. the location is ideal. aprel at the front desk was super friendly.

Nice place. Spacious rooms. All the amenities you’d expect (pool, workout room, laundry room) at a great price. Sink, microwave, and full sized fridge in each room. Friendly staff. Pet friendly (for a price) which is what landed us here during our transition to SA.
A couple suggestions that may have earned the 5^th star:
1. Need sanitary wipes in the workout room. May have just been out?
2. Be a pioneer. Make the pet fee refundable if there is no evidence of a pet. Wishful thinking but would make us pet owners feel better. An extra $ 75 fee when the room itself is only slightly higher than that is fairly steep for having the vacuum pick up a few extra hairs.
Highly recommend. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

This is a great new brand from Hilton. It is not really that unique per se, but it does combine several elements that both extended and short stay guest will appreciate. The focus on environmentally conscious practices is nice and I’m sure saves the hotel a lot of money as well to not wash sheets every day. The soap and shampoo dispensers ensure you won’t run out and reduce a lot of waste.

Some things they need to FIX going forward.
–bathroom is large, but the actual glassed in shower is so damn small you can’t shampoo your hair with both hands or you will break your elbows. Seriously, I’m had easier showers on cruise ships.
–breakfast is a complete cluster &^$^. Spread the dang food out a bit, and don’t bother to serve OJ if it is going to taste like watered down tang
–don’t repaint the lobby ceiling and not provide guest access to checkin without wheeling through plain splatters, and if you can’t get that done, at least apologize… such a rude welcome
–stop charging for «high speed» internet access, your premium speed is only 25% as fast as my monthly access at home and barely keeps up with my cell phone speed. It is nickel and diming your guests.
–was architect who designed layout of hotel same idiot who designed showers? who puts the elevator at one end of a very long rectangle? here’s an idea, but the lobby and elevator in MIDDLE… then nobody has to wheel their luggage ¼ mile to their room.
–who puts a nearly full size fridge and a dishwasher into a kitchenette but not an oven or stovetop? You are not fooling us Home2. Just make it s mini fridge and microwave, nobody is «cooking» here.

Stayed here for a month while in town for school at Ft Sam Houston. First, the location is good. Minutes from the airport, many restaurants, a large mall, and several movie theaters. The room was very clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of taking care of our room while I was here. They did my dishes, changed my towels daily, and made my bed. Pretty sweet. The king size bed was very comfortable. I had my dog with me for some time while I was here. The hotel is pet-​friendly for a $ 75 deposit. Well worth it in my opinion. Overall, a very nice stay for a very decent price compared to other hotels I called. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Hands down the best Hilton brand hotel!
They had me at check-​in! The staff were so friendly during my early check-​in. The free water was a nice surprise, too.
Common area– nice variety of tables, tv, computers, connectivity. Very communal inside and outside. There is an outdoor fire pit, large grills and saline pool.
Room– Very vibrant, fun, young and energetic; ample space and very efficient; eco– friendly toilets & cleaning program; easy wifi; Smart, modular furniture– no more bulky, inefficient case goods that cover outlets! They even have an iHome! Finally a need for an alarm clock– one that can dock my iPhone, which already has my alarm set!
Tiny downfall– would love an extra pillow or two. Kinda skimpy.
Breakfast-​great variety, but ends at 9:00 am on weekdays. Great oatmeal options but it’s either not ready to serve or it’s gone. Even after 9 there is a long line for waffles. If you want juice you have to make your way through the waffle line– good luck. The refrigerated foods have a number on them. Put it in the micro & select the number– easy peasy! They have Equal and Earl Grey in the rooms, but green tea and the pink sugar substitute for breakfast. That was huge for me. Tea drinkers always get the shaft.
Would go again. My go-​to Hilton brand for now on, when possible.

I must say I’m a fan. I would call it a cross of aloft and Residence Inn. Modern décor, smart layout of the property, and excellent staff.
If you have any issue, the staff will do everything possible to take care of any issues.
