History

Established in 1994.

Internet Direct began as an Internet Service Provider, providing Internet

access to the early adopters. As the company grew, Internet Direct began expanding its services to include web design and hosting. As the years went on, we could see the writing on the wall that access was going to be provided by the big boys (AT&T and Time Warner) so we began focusing most of our attention the design and maintenance of websites which is the core business of Internet Direct today.

1994 — Internet Direct established as a dial-​up and ISDN service provider for the greater San Antonio area

1995 — Began proving web hosting, design and custom programming services

1997 — Began providing T1 connectivity

2000 — Began providing DSL connectivity

2002 – 2005 — Shifted focus and resources from connectivity to design, hosting and programming services

2008 — Began providing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) services

2010 — Began providing Social Media Integration and Consulting services

Meet the Business Owner

David S.

Business Owner

David Sokol graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 with a Bachelors in Business Administration.

He began his career as a programmer for a software development company in Austin, Texas. He then moved to San Antonio and was the IS manager for a chain of off-​priced retail stores with locations throughout the southern United States. In 1995, David quit his job and took a leap of faith and invested in a start-​up Internet company called Internet Direct.
