The lock on the front door of our office building jammed on a Sunday night, and we weren’t able to access the building. I called S.A. Locksmith & Security, and the dispatcher told me that a locksmith would be calling within a short time. She quoted a price of $ 15 for the call and $ 40 for the unlocking. About 15 – 20 minutes later, we got a call, and a young man in a white van showed up shortly. It took him less than a minute to open the door, sliding a knife-​like tool between the door and door jamb (wish we would have thought of that – would have saved us $ 152.00). He told us the lock was old, rusted, and no good any more, and offered to replace it for $ 250 plus $ 150 labor; and if it jammed, it might run up to $ 600. We politely declined. He filled out the invoice (#813 790 – just so you know this is not a competitor writing a review), and we were shocked to see that he charged us $ 152.00 for less than 5 minutes’ work.
The next day, we called our regular locksmith, Accurate Lock & Key, which is owned by a retired policeman. He told us that there really wasn’t anything wrong with the front door lock, but replaced it anyway, and re-​keyed two other locks to match. He worked for two hours and charged us less than $ 150. He suggested that if we ever had a lockout after hours, we should call Access Key & Security. Wish we’d known…

I had a broken lock and was locked out of my house in the morning so when I got to work I called to have someone meet me at my house at 5:00 pm, giving them plenty of notice so it would not be considered an «emergency» call. The guy called me at 4:40 and said he would be there by 5:00. I was in my driveway waiting and he didn’t show or call to say he would be late. I had to call and ask where he was and then he called back saying he got stuck in traffice and would be 5 minutes. He took another 15. He arrived about 5:35. He took a look at my lock and said he had to replace it because it was bent inside. He said he would have to drill it out and put in the new one. He comes back in with a paper that has a breakdown of the charges. $ 165 to drill out the existing lock and labor, $ 35 for tools (not even sure what that means, I am not buying tools for them) and $ 75 for the lock. and a $ 15 service charge for a grand total of $ 296. I about fell out of my chair. Of course at that point I need to get in so I am stuck paying it but this place is a rip off. Would have been cheaper to break a window and replace it. Do not use this place if you like to keep your money.
