Very tasty Mexican cuisine. I had the chicken poblano pepper plate it was absolutely delicious and the family enjoyed their plates as well. Service was very good and I was surprised the place wasn’t busier.

I’ve had several of the tacos here and they’re all tasty and fresh. Good and friendly service. They have a patio outside which is shady and always nice to relax. It’s definitely different from most Tex Mex but don’t be afraid to try something new. You won’t regret it.

Nice place and what I think is eclectic. The hostess/waiter was nice and attentive. I ordered a Queso with rajas poblanas and corn and it was good for my taste but there’s no salt and pepper on the table. Why? Then I ordered a white sangria and I got a mineral water with a hint of what I think it was white Zinfandel? with 3 pieces of fruit on top. Not very good, I asked if they could tweak it for better flavor and the bar guy response was, that’s how it is! Wth! Never tasted a white sangria that was 85% mineral water! That is the reason I am giving a 3 star. No reason to say that! You just do it again! Period! Or suggest something else! Food was good a little pricey for the portion but good. Service was good but need more experienced people. I will give it another try and try other plates for sure!

Ordered a watermelon mint Margarita and expected something totally different. I thought watermelon would be fresh, unfortunately artificial. For a Mexican restaurant, I was disappointed. Boyfriend and brother were disappointed with their drinks as well. Chips and salsa were good. Maybe food will be better, but will not be ordering any mixed drinks.

This restaurant is Mex-Mex, not Tex-Mex, and is upscale at that. It is in the same little shopping center as the new Trader Joe’s on FM1604 feeder between Stone Oak Blvd. & Blanco. My wife & I ate there once and I ate there once, make three meals. Everything we have had has been a definite cut above. My first meal was a broiled bone marrow dish served in the bones cut open. Very different for me, and excellent. A treat actually. Today I had the Camarones Josper, which is a dish of shrimp covered in cheese with bacon cooked in a Josper grill/oven served over rice with a side of grilled squash & zucchini. The spicing was just right and the cheese enhanced but did not cover-up the taste of the shrimp. 20 $. This dish was superb. My wife ordered(we shared) two of their street tacos(4 $ ea), one w/fired shrimp and one with beef fajitas or what they call«arracheras.» Both were very good. The menu has many new items to try including pricy steaks and several Mexican oriented pizzas we have not yet tried. The space is open with a bar and cooking very visible in the back. The waiters are more than eager to help choose, and our experience was cordial and welcoming. We will be back with friends. Too many appealing little menu surprise items yet to try. Menu –

Best Authentic Mexican food in SA– the torta ahogada amazing! The chips and salsa soooo delicious and the set up was very trendy and cute. Highly recommend– location is not that great because we didn’t know it was there but I’m so glad we found it!

This place is a gem! Everything is fresh and so flavorful. Staff is very attentive. The chef Is out in the open area cooking on a cool Josper grill. Atmosphere is spot on! Taco a la Diabla and the Costilla is a must! And of corse the scratch made margaritas are amazing! Try this place, you will not be disappointed. We are lucky to have this in the stone oak area!

I’ve been living in San Antonio all my life, visit the Pacific coast of Mexico every other summer, and somehow at 25 years old I feel like I’ve finally had truly delicious Mexican food after eating here. Not exaggerating, it’s been one week since I tried this place and my boyfriend and I have talked about going back every day since! We ordered 3 appetizers(one for each person at the table) the Mexican street corn, the chorizo queso, and the Guacamole with bacon. The chorizo queso and elote street corn were so good we ordered seconds before our food even came out! I got the 1604 salad and my boyfriend got the Barbacoa tacos, but the real star was the rare seared tuna that we shared. We had a third companion with us who ordered individual taco after taco, every single one looked so good I regretted ordering a salad. By the time our dessert came out we were all so full that we could barely dig into it, but we did anyways. A flaky deep fried dough with cinnamon sugar, caramel, nuts, and ice cream was like a dessert tostada. Chef Abel has the freedom to create his own menu and has done a fantastic job! Keep up the good work, we’ll definitely be returning!

This place is definitely unique. Food was absolutely amazing. The corn and the Michin cone where definitely the cherry on top. Will be going back soon.

I think some of the bad reviews are due to this being a new place. I purposely waited several months before stopping in. My Salad was delicious and I plan to stop in for fish tacos. I’d love to see this place add Sunday Brunch to their offering!

What a beautiful restaurant! The décor is gorgeous and the food and staff are great! I got the bean and cheese nachos and was very pleased that I was black beans and mozzarella cheese!!! The shrimp in the lime juice is great as well.

Sunday Brunch here is the best! The elote and margaritas are bangin’. They have mimosas too. I love the music on the patio and the fun crowd during Sunday Brunch.

It was good, but not great and certainly not worth the price. The night we went they were out of several things including chips. They literally served us the crumbs from the bottom of a bag of chips. Cocktails were very good. Service was mediocre which is sad when you have only 2 tables you are serving. Like the atmosphere.

Our experience was awesome! We came for Sunday lunch and the fish tacos were delightful! We had fresh guacamole as our appetizer and my husband tried the pulled pork sandwich with the spicy dipping broth! It was all tasty the staff was friendly and attentive! We love the décor and the music just made the experience that much better. After we ate we went out on the patio lounge and listened to DJ spin some good beats! We will be back!

Very odd, mostly uncomfortable experience. I’ll make it as brief as I can: — There were no other patrons in the place the entire time we were there, yet there had to be a dozen employees just hanging around. — The hostesses, while very sweet, barely spoke English and seemed to be joined at the hip. Every time they engaged us they came over together, with big smiles on their face and a weird, simultaneous giggle. It was creepy. — Our waiter seemed very nice. Then, a few minutes after placing our order, he stormed into the dining room, kicking chairs and screaming obscenities and major f-bombs at someone in the back of the restaurant. He was removed by some coworkers(thankfully there were many of them just standing around!) and the hostesses zoomed up to our table to tell us he had been drinking… and giggled some more. — Our food took at least 30 minutes — as the only people in the place this was a bit surprising. We ordered steaks, and they were served with potatoes and rice. I’m guessing they made everything from the moment we ordered, but it’s a restaurant not a home kitchen — things should be prepped in order to move faster. — In place of our server was the manager. Nice guy, but once he got to chatting he didn’t know when to stop. He visited our table at least three times and we spent the majority of our date night as a threesome with extremely awkward conversation. — Food was decent. Well prepared, but seriously under-seasoned. There seemed to be a lack of experienced leadership happening — we arrived at 7p on a Wednesday night. If it’s not busy by then, some of the staff should have been sent home. Also, allowing the ones who don’t have anything to do to linger about in the dining room while they play on their phones makes the patrons feel uncomfortable. Music was too loud and clubby for a Wednesday night. Staff is seriously undertrained, most barely spoke English. Actually, the entire place just seemed«off» — like it’s being run entirely by people with zero restaurant experience, including the owners. Not sure what’s going on behind the scenes, but we won’t be back.

Underwhelming. Came for dinner and specifically to enjoy the fish tacos that everyone raves about. When we arrived there they had just changed the menu for dinner and it did not include any of their tacos. It was a fairly pricey upper scale menu.($ 20-$ 50) per entrée. Normally I would pay that for a finer dining establishment but not here. I did ask if they could accommodate making the tacos. After 10 minutes the server said he chef said yes but only this one time. Hmmmm… We ordered margaritas and they were extremely tiny. For $ 15 each one would assume it would be in more than a small goblet. My tacos, families dinner and appetizers came out at the same time and all of it took a very long time(30 minutes). There were only 4 other tables in the restaurant and the server couldn’t tell us why it took too long. With that we just ate quickly and asked for the bill. Probably will not return as there are so many good authentic fresh Mexican food establishments in San Antonio.

Michin was a fun departure from the traditional tex-mex we find here in San Antone, especially north of 1604! My hubs and I visited on a Sunday, around 11. It had only opened about a month prior, so we wanted to make sure we got in before the crowds. Turns out we didn’t have to come quite so early, as we were the only people there. Once we got seated, our waiter informed us that they were out of quite a lot of stuff: some of the meat options, octopus, avocados(say what?!), and the house margarita. Ummmmm. Well, I guess I won’t be having that guac or that lovely chamoy-spiked margarita I saw on Instagram and had been craving like crazy! That aside, Michin offered some pretty good choices. I ordered their tacos with tuna, which had lots of flavor and came topped with some sort of spicy dressing. My husband ordered a tostada type taco, topped with meat and cheese only. We also split the queso, which was more of the mozzarella type queso that you pair with tortillas. Great flavor, but über thick and filling. The spiced corn tortillas that came on the side were phenomenal, so I’d ask for some regardless of what you order! The best part of the meal were their various salsas, although you’ll probably have to ask for more, as they come out in tiny little bowls. Either way, all three options were delicious, and the chips were spiced perfectly. Options were a bit pricey, but service was good and our food choices were all great.(I will echo other Unilocalers here in saying that we were served by like, every server in the restaurant.) I’d love to give Michin another chance, especially now that things have probably calmed down from the initial buzz.

Much in was an interesting experience. The service was outstanding and the food was pretty good, too. I think everyone who works there must have come by our table to check on us. You can tell the coworkers are very happy working there and believe in the restaurant. The owner came by, too, even though his family was in the restaurant for the soft opening. I felt very welcome to be there and come back. I don’t remember the name of the entrees we ordered. We ordered a grilled Caesar salad that was pretty delicious, and big enough for a few people. The dressing was from a jar, I’m sure, but actually quite good. I don’t usually like salad dressing from a jar, but if they had made it from scratch, it would have sent the salad over the top. I also ordered a ceviche/cocktail with fish, shrimp, and octopus. I ate it, and it was good, but didn’t blow me away. My boyfriend ordered some crab tacos that had a jicama tortilla. It was very fresh, but he ended up just eating the topping and leaving the jicama. He really enjoyed it, but after talking with the owner, we both decided to try the flank steak next time, which is supposed to be cooked in some special oven. I was in the mood for wine, but the didn’t have a list so I tried a recommendation from the manager. They only carry Mexican wines, which I didn’t even know existed. It was interesting. Be careful, though… There was a miscommunication and they tried charging me $ 14 per glass, which it was actually $ 7. They changed it quickly. The service is what’s going to carry this place– best service I’ve had in quite some time! Thanks, Michin!
