I love this place. The food is fantastic. I highly recommend chicken parmigiana! Customer service was great. No long wait for food.

Awesome brunch this morning. Chamomile tea, Café Au Lait(pronounced olé like bullfighting), free substituted egg whites, turkey sausage and a blueberry muffin. Only reason I didn’t give them five stars was there did not have blueberry pancakes/waffles. They did have lemon poppy seed which sounds interesting but I neglected to try. The waitress said they will have a berry pancake/waffle in the future so I am looking forward to that.

We went on a Sunday morning. Be prepared to wait awhile to be seated. It was packed and we were told a 20 minute wait when we first walked end ended up being more like a 40 minute wait to be seated. Once we were at the table service was pretty prompt. I had the Santa Fe Omelette which was really good i would definitely order again!

I never write reviews but this place is dumb AS. The moment I walked in the 2 hostesses looked like they were cuddling and I had to wait for them to acknowledge me RUDE. My waiter was creepy AF. But did offer my child oranges(which he didn’t charge me for) ps ONEIFTHE only upsides to this visit. I ordered the quiche loraine. Pretty simple can’t really F that up… But they did(spoiler). You can tell the cook(doesn’t get to be called chef) gave 0 F’s like 00. It seriously looked like my 4 year old made it… I would weather spend 600 $ to fly to France(one way) and eat the real thing than pay $ 20 for this garbage. But the mimosa was what made the meal BC they gave me a Tbs of orange juice. Couldn’t get through it with out straight Korbel Brut. Also the low fat muffin was decent once I slathered all of the 3 butter containers on it #winning

This is the worst run restaurant I have ever been to. Sister had her B-day celebration here on a Saturday evening. Reservation was for 7o’clock. I was running late. Get there at 7:20 thinking everbody(there were about 25 of us) would have their beverages by then. Nope. Not a good sign. After 10 more mins got beverages. Then they took our orders. Then we waited & waited & waited… Cousin talked to manager then I talked to manager. Didn’t seem to concerned nor apologetic. Finally got our plates at 8:45…This restaurant is totally understaffed & for price & quality of food not worth the wait. For what I ordered I could same thing at Jack in the Box for half the price. The only thing that somewhat saved them is they comped the beverages.

Pretty good place to eat. It’s definitely nothing extraordinary as far as the food goes. But the service that is provided here is good. I ordered the salmon and was pleased.

The menu says fresh squeezed orange juice, but the jugs of orange juice are clearly displayed in the kitchen. When I asked about this clearly misadvertised product, the reasoning I got was because the jug says fresh squeezed. Then the waitress is offended when I ask to see the egg to make sure it’s an actual egg.

First off, I was happy to see fresh squeezed orange juice on the menu. Then the magic was destroyed when I saw the gallon jugs you can buy at the local HEB grocery store for .99 cents. What next? You say fresh eggs and they’re really egg beaters? Second, We placed our order and the server came out with our order pretty quickly, seemingly redeeming the service. Nope! It was a completely different order and it was sent back. Don’t think I’ll ever be back to this restaurant due to a lack of integrity and attention to detail.

Too expensive and not worth it, $ 3.49 for 2 strips of bacon? We ordered 2 pancakes and the turkey crepes, they were pretty average. The only good thing was that the orange juice was fresh, but again, expensive. You have better options for breakfast in San Antonio.

I’ve eaten at Mimi’s many times, and enjoy the food there. However, yesterday while eating lunch, I was given an extremely dirty fork. When I asked for a replacement, I was given a new set of utensils with yet another extremely dirty fork in it! This experience has shaken my confidence in the cleanliness of the restaurant. Yuck!!!

Mimi’s has long been a favorite within my family. Being as their are not very many in the northern states, we always visit one whenever we’re near a location. This Mimi’s did not disappoint. The food was great as usual and the staff was quite pleasant as well. I’m glad to see they’ve expanded the menu since we last visited. I treated myself to the 15 Layer Birthday cake and it was amazing. Keep up the good work.

We were looking for a quick lunch after a little shopping and decided on Mimi’s. It was @1:00p ayer the lunch crowd and wasn’t crowded. The service was very good but the food was just ok. I’ve been for brunch and think i prefer it better than lunch.

Always have had great food, sometimes the service has been a bit slow(we don’t mind waiting). Love the quiche, but order from the dinner menu as it comes with a free muffin for the same cost as breakfast(but no muffin). Someone rated bad for no open carry, but that will keep me coming back!

I’m just getting out of the restaurant and after 1 hour and 45 minutes my breakfast was never served… Service was terrible!, awful… The plates were served all at different times and mine never came out! It took 25 minutes to get a tea and when they brought it the water was almost cold. Terrible experience!!! I couldn’t eat and they didn’t even care

We stopped in for breakfast because we were in the neighborhood. The place is very ‘Mardi Gras’. We got there about ten and had to wait a few minutes because it was so blooming crowded. I ordered the bacon/avocado/Monterey Jack cheese omelet. It also contained spinach and was topped with tomatoes. Served with baby potatoes, skin on. Choice of toast or muffin. I went with buttermilk muffin. So good, right out of the oven and served with buuuutter. Yum. The husband had the salmon Benedict. Must have been good bye scarfed them down. Their coffee is quite tasty and they keep it coming. Various flavors of mimosas are offered. Many, many folks enjoying them. It was mostly the people with kids. Ha, ha. Go there.

Chris was my waiter very polite and the food was good. The food came out pretty quick for a restaurant I got my bread and then two or so minutes late my food was out. Their house wine cab/Merlot was good to smooth but not to strong.

Service was ok, food was below marginal. NY strip was tough, fries soaked with fryer grease. Chicken parm was good. Definitely a ONE and DONE!

This review is not about the food or the service since I’ve loved coming here in the past. They have a great chicken pot pie, and I almost always order the pot pie when I come here. This will be my last time visiting this establishment sine there is a posted sign disallowing the open carry of firearms. If you want my service back, lift the restriction. I hope other like minded people will do the same.

I read other reviews about poor service, but this was not my experience. The staff was friendly and the food came quickly. I had the salmon Benedict – delicious. Our drinks were always refilled quickly and the check came right as we were done. I will definitely be back to try the lemon poppyseed pancakes.

I have to say, rather disappointed. Bacon and Blue salad comes to the table with no blue cheese, took entirely too long to get this rectified. Walnuts in salad stale. Tea was cloudy and tasted bad. Water glass was empty for most of the meal. Now waiting on the check, wonder how long that’s going to take?

I decided to have a nice brunch with my girlfriend and joined her at the Mimi’s location near the La Cantera shopping center. The hostess was nice and I was able to quickly grab us a booth and browsed the menu while I waited. I saw a few selections I wanted to try but settled on the Orange Crème French Toast, bacon, scrambled eggs with onion and cheese(don’t charge you extra for this like at IHOP) and some fresh fruit. My friend a Vetetan to Mimi’s decided on the steak and eggs along with some potatoes. While we waited, our wonderful Waitress Alysa brought over some fresh muffins and the food came out quickly thereafter. The muffins were fresh and fabulous and Alysa was always close and always smiling. My food was tasty and priced affordably but I’ve made better at home. My friend’s steak was cooked perfectly but had an awful char burnt taste. The manager was walking by and witnessed the look on our faces and quickly had her streak replaced. As parting gifts for the steak replacement, Alysa Brought us early Christmas Presents(2 muffins a piece) for the road! While there are more items to try I’ll take my time coming back, Breakfast for me is better at home ~ Ms. Foodie(oh military discount)

Came here during lunch and they were busy. We got seated right away. I ordered a Cesar salad. The lettuce was brown and not just a little. I told the waiter and he took it back. He also said that he did notice it. So he actually served me a salad that he knew belonged in the trash!!! The manger came out and apologized. I don’t think he took the salad off the bill though. I will not come back here.

Me and my gf have been here many times as we live down the street. We love the potroast and mash potatoes. Mamosas are really good and inexpensive. I did not give a full 5 stars only due to the staff giving us a bad experience 1 time and the bathrooms being dirty and out of toylet paper. When we advised the staff, they acted rude about it when we were just trying to help… Overall I still really like the place and count on having a pleasant experience going forward.

I was in a hurry and ordered a salad online, to-go. I arrived at the restaurant and it was ready for pickup, I paid, and left. I blame myself for not checking the bag before leaving. Not only was there no muffin or baguette, there was no dressing! Not on the salad, and not in a cup on the side. I had a very limited window for lunch, I didn’t have time to go back. So here I am eating a few dry lettuce leaves and picking at the toppings for lunch. Very disappointed. I wish they would QC orders before handing them to customers.

This was the worst service I’ve received in decades! We had to wait to be seated when there were plenty of empty tables and then we waited 15 minutes to be approached about a drink order and then waited another 30 minutes for the food to arrive only after we complained to a manager. To compound things, we had to ask another server for our check as we never saw our waitress again. If you’re short on time(which we were not, thank goodness) I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I just finished eating here and ordered my usual –the turkey dinner. Everything was delicious –starting with the tasty mashed potatoes, turkey, and dressing. Our waiter, Chris Tubbs is what makes the dining experience an absolute pleasure! Now the downside to this place is the consistently filthy restrooms. I dread going to use it because I know it will be either dirty, smelly or both! The toilet seats are old, scratched, and just nasty looking. So, Mimi’s Café keep your bathrooms clean!

Chicken and waffles(12.99) was good, but the waffles were a little too light. They need to be more substantial to stand up to the chicken. Chicken was good, very crunchy. Syrup was lame, the one I use from Costco at home is better. The waitress disappeared half way through our meal and the service was just sort of sluggish. She was very nice though. There were only old people here, one of which was wearing so much perfume we almost asked to move tables. Overall, pretty good but also pretty expensive for what it is.

Worked out just right for an early morning breakfast meeting. We all ordered simple breakfasts, which did not come with muffins, so I missed out on that this trip. Food was great, service was good but my decaf coffee wasn’t piping hot, despite the fact that we where the first customers of the day. Good location close to 1604 and I 10. Next time I’ve either got to have the muffins or try the lemon poppyseed pancakes, which were enticing.

The food here is very good, unfortunately the service is below par. I wanted so bad to give 4 stars but it took forever in between each step of our meal. Our server was frazzled because of the rush of people and unfortunately did not handle it well. It took a while just to be asked about our beverages, and the entire breakfast took well over an hour. The crepes were delicious. We came here for lunch the other day and it was also very good.

I have always head amazing things about Mimi’s Café and that there is ALWAYS a wait. I went a few months ago for breakfast and was not as pleased with the experience as I hoped. So I decided to hold off on the review till I could experience this place again. Mistake. Don’t get me wrong, the food is amazing. However, part of eating out is the experience you receive, not only the quality of your food. I ordered Corned Beef Hash the first time I went for Breakfast and today, I ordered a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad — both delicious. The service here is horrendous! My first experience… once we got passed the 45 minute wait, I had to BEG a server to get us menus, water, beverages, and food… not to mention the check. The second time around was not much better. No wait. AWESOME. The place was nearly empty as we arrived for lunch around 1:15. Took five minutes to even say hello… my mom had to get her attention across the room for a tea refill. Pretty much any service we received, was because we begged for it. I won’t lie, I’ll probably go here again… BUT it is simply for the food. This service is seriously border-line the worst.

Stopped by on the fly out running an erramd. The French Pot Roast was so tender and juicy and our service was on point with Daniel. The bread basket was very generous and delicious. My hubby had the hickory burger with corn chowder soup and managed a double thumbs up between bites. We will be back to investigate the brunch situation and will report in. Over and out…

I’m impressed! I’ve been to Mimi’s a couple years ago and wasn’t a fan. The food was bland and the service was mediocre. Yesterday was a whole different story! First off we were promptly greeted when we walked in with a smile. This place is cute. It has a country home kind of feel. We were seated immediately, yes they were very slow but we walked in at 9:08pm and they close at 10pm. Our waiter was fantastic! Chris was friendly, attentive and just fabulous! My friend was apprehensive about coming to Mimi’s like myself and she too was pleasantly surprised. She told me that they once had a bad experience here in the past but not the case yesterday. Food came out hot, flavorful and with great service. They have lots of new stuff on the menu so that was fun. If you’ve tried this place before but had a bad experience, I say give it another try. I’m glad I did. Thanks for the great service and good food. I’ll be back!

Mimi’s Café seems like an attempt to bring French cuisine to the masses. By this, I mean that the prices are lower than a typical French restaurant but in so doing, the quality suffers. I ordered some chicken and frites dish and both items were perfectly acceptable. However, in my opinion, I should have paid about $ 8 less for the meal — maybe I was paying for the faux-French ambiance. One other observation is the overly-joyed staff. I don’t know what the manager tells them to do, but this fake, peppy, perkiness, this«I’m so over-joyed to be bringing your water and pats of butter…» is really off putting. Had that been genuine, perhaps I wouldn’t have had to ask 2 times for unsweet tea or wait 10 minutes for a water refill. If this is their natural physical state, my apologies. FYI — The pharmaceutical industry has some wonderful drugs to help people with this affliction… Anyway, I loved the bread and butter. Yum. The staff was overjoyed to serve us but were forgetful. The manager seemed genuinely interested in how we liked our meal. The atmosphere was ok but scratch the surface and it seemed cheap — like when I accidentally knocked my cushion off my seat(which was supposed to be held on by screws) and poked a hole in the back of a nice pair of work pants… Best of luck to Mimi’s but really it’s the bread that will bring me back.
