The OST is a place that goes beyond words. I love visiting Lourdes Grotto and Guadalupe Tepeyac. Even if you’re not religious, the meanings and dedications are symbolic of so many different things. The Lourdes Grotto is actually an exact replica of the shrine in Lourdes, France. Conversely, the Guadalupe Tepeyac is an acknowledgement of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Tepeyac Hill, Mexico City. You can light candles here, pray, or just enjoy the scenery and all at no cost. There’s also a gift store, restrooms, and water fountains available near the main parking area.

The Oblate Renewal Center is situated in the center of The Oblate School of Theology. This is the place that the aspiring priests come together to eat and reflect. It is also a boarding home for visitors. I do not claim to be a Priest or an aspiring anything theological. I was drawn to the Oblate School because of the Marriage and Engaged Encounters that are put on here monthly. As a couple, you are required to do deep communicating and writing. You reflect here. You eat three wonderfully prepared meals a day here. Your room is TV and all other electronics deprived. It is a wonderful place to spend a weekend. There is always something going on for the general public and you need not be any denomination to attend and feel welcomed. I can’t wait for my next weekend retreat!
